guerringuerrin
@Nobbi I've just finished testing community-mod 0.26.2 + boonGUI 2.6.4 and its working properly. It's shown right next to POP column Edited October 11, 2022 by guerringuerrin

It would be nice to have it on both places. As a player u look often to minimap anyway so, it was good around there. For spectators its good in the top panel to have an overview and when players have sight they can tell friends if they have idle units. Gurken Khan
Just downloaded the mod (2.6.4) because I think it's nice for reviewing a game. Could the stats maybe be less spaced out?
Chesnutter
Regarding the BoonGUI mod: Hey, I'm a total noob with computers (or at least compared to many on this forum). I'm having a hard time figuring out how to extract the zip file and put it in the /0ad/mods/ folder which i cant find either... Can any one upload it to the the in-game mod database so it can be downloaded directly from there? Thanks? Chesnutter P.s. thanks for working on it!! I'm guessing your path is C:\Users\Chesnutter\Documents\My Games\0ad\mods See if you can open that directory in your windows file manager, go to your download folder and do a right click on the BoonGUI zip; it should give you the option to extract. wowgetoffyourcellphone
I can see you've put a lot of work into this, @Langbart. Any chance of extending it to include more resources from mods?

Here you can see I have a mod folder in the 0ad folder (that i created and labaled).... In the mod folder is the boonGui zip file that I downloaded. I've tried unzipping it there and it extracts, cool, but nothing changes in the mod settings once I open up the 0ad game application... does this help you help me? poised
Chesnutter. I have been trying to work all this stuff out too. home/snap/0ad/592/.local/share/0ad/mods/user From the folder you are showing in the picture go to .. 592 check that nautilus is set to "show hidden folders" then go to .local/share/0ad and you will see the mods folder in there will be a folder titled user
poised
When you download a mod from the game it puts it in /home/snap/0ad/592/.local/share/0ad/mods I think you just drop the .zip in a folder for the mod there and put the mod.json file from inside the .zip, extracted, next to the .zip So, /home/snap/0ad/592/.local/share/0ad/mods/"name of mod"/ and that folder containing "name of mod".zip and mod.json Some mods work for me that way, I have had trouble. poised
I was wrong. Just tested it but trying to help you helped me. Here, from start .... Download .zip and check that you "show hidden folders" in file manager Right click .zip Extract to... /home/snap/0ad/592/.local/share/0ad/mods restart 0ad look in "mod selection" under "settings" 33 minutes ago, Chesnutter said: hey @Gurken Khan I'm using ubuntu... Gilo
@Chesnutter The path you're looking for is ~/snap/0ad/current/.local/share/0ad/ You can copy and paste into the address bar of Files. (ctrl + L to manually insert address) If this path doesn't exist, firing up the game should create it. Once there, create a folder named mods (if it doesn't exists), copy your zip there, and right click > extract files. You should end up with a structure like this: Note that this boonGUI.zip is the one inside the zip you extracted. (by the way, snap's "current" folder is always linked to the latest version) Edited December 29, 2022 by Gilo

hyperion
@Chesnutter To install a mod hassle free run 0ad path/to/someMod.zip A simple "open with 0ad" in your gui based file-manger should work as well.
Chesnutter
@hyperion I ran that in that in the terminal. it opened a new 0ad application... i dont think thats what you meant...? Otherwise i'm not sure what you mean by "gui based file-manager"? i googled that and things like Nautilus came up. Does the standard ubuntu OS have default one that im currently using or do I need to download one if I havent yet? Again, i'm a total noob at this. thanks for your help. P.s. Would it not be simple(r) for someone to upload it to the mod menu list in the game? and also it would make it available for others as well I guess. hyperion
37 minutes ago, Chesnutter said: ERROR: The mod file 'path/to/someMod.zip' does not exist! Ah, I thought it was obvious to replace 'path/to/someMod.zip' to with the actual path. My bad for assuming something to be obvious that is not. Let's say its in Downloads and is called boonGUI.zip then it be 0ad ~/Downloads/boonGUI.zip Hint: use tab completion whenever possible As said before, right click and "open with 0ad" in file manger will work in all likelihood too if a terminal is to foreign, but you won't see any errors then and it will be a lot harder to figure out what goes wrong if it goes wrong.
