Why do i get lag ?
Gurken Khan replied to MarcusAureliu#s's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
If you say everything gets slow I doubt you will find the solution within 0ad. I'd recommend a fresh install of your OS. Alternatively look again for malware, update drivers, kill all processes you can. -

First maybe check if the game uses the right (dedicated) GPU. From you description I suspect your antivir might be the cause; maybe you changed the one you were using or an update brings about this behavior. If it ~constantly checks the game's files & processes lags are likely. Maybe disable it for a test? -

That's when you train your war chickens! I guess it's training cav from the start & putting them on the chickens until they're used up and then you sent your cav to your enemy. -

@axo 1. I think it would be good if ppl spoke out immediately if they witness unwanted behavior in the lobby/game. 2. I don't know if the player base is actually shrinking. @Stan` had some statistics about devices connecting, but I don't know where to find it/compare it to previous years. 3. If you think a ~self help group thread is a good idea maybe just start it yourself. I only do single player, so everything MP I can't really judge/am not personally affected. -

There's the disputes thread where ppl can officially complain & sanctions will follow if appropriate. -
Oh, you think @nani could do this? If I just pinged @nani and kinda pose it like a challenge to @nani?

Archaeological potpourri

The vikings, who came from Scandinavia, used iron as their main ingredient for forging weaponry, but it was also common practice to add the bones of dead animals to the mix. The belief was that it would infuse the weapon with the spirit of the creature, making it stronger, but they ended up making a primitive version of steel because of the carbon in the bones mixing with the iron making the weapon stronger, just as they thought it would. (Supposedly true, via ebaumsworld) -
I also have a few units I'd like other default stances, Ministers for example (they're strong warriors and shouldn't run by default). Could this maybe done via config file?

Why does @s0600204 change the title of someone else's thread? -
But I don't know if I'm going to fight soon. I'm securing my enlarged territory and sometimes someone(s) turn up, sometimes they don't. (Unlike in previous versions where every enemy would take their turn on me.)

Nah, it's not so bad. I usually play against four average AIs (and with one ally); of course I don't welcome uninvited visitors, but from ~minute seven you kinda have to expect them. That's why I try to rush to p2 around minute six, start building defensive structures when I reach it and try to have a basic army at an intercepting position. (CS working front wood, wood-women and farming to the back...)

Did you try clicking or copying it regardless? Did you search the forum? Is it this link

Yeah, I usually have some traders because that's what an empire does, but if for example my ally is a dud and trading's not worth it then so be it. (In an average game the gains aren't too high anyway and traders & tecs cost some pretty resources including metal...)

I don't remember which mod I had in mind ~half a year ago. But I believe there are mods that reduce the polys of trees, areas ... that should reduce the load.

Removing bartering seems too crass of a disadvantage to me.

@CovenantKillerJ I think the more important question is if we have proof of the use of eles. The production buildings are a game play mechanic; do we have proof of CCs, barracks, stables...- 1.040 replies

Musk vs. Zuckerberg in Ancient Rome

AFAIK his parents had an emerald (?) mine in apartheid SA which is also the basis for his wealth. And further AFAIK Zuck practices martial arts and has fought in tournaments; so I really think Elon would have his butt handed to him quite swiftly. -

I just hope both suffer. ^^ I read today it could be more a debate than a physical fight; if not my money is on Zuck.
