  1. It should yes, I wouldn't recommend making a square map into a circle map if you've already placed things on it though as things could end up outside the area reachable by the units etc.
  2. That's very much possible Just open up the XML file for the map in a text editor and change the line "CircularMap": true,to "CircularMap": false, and save the file (I think it's best if you do this when you don't have the map open in Atlas =) But apart from that there shouldn't be any issues )
  3. Maybe it does, it might not be related to this at all. I just remembered it It would probably be helpful to know if the person encountering these issues have got any free space on the C drive in any case, just ot have one more known variable
  4. I'm not certain, but I do seem to recall people having had issues in the past when they didn't have enough space on the C drive - not because the game installs to it, but rather that it uses it (to store temporary files or similar) during the installation.
  5. The exact prizes is definitely something that will have to be finetuned further, though I don't think we should spend too much time on it until we actually have all the techs implemented
  6. I was mostly talking about countries (or more specifically the US as that's where I know this exists =) ) where there is a government agency to handle it I can definitely see how having a company/organization take care of it might not be as safe
  7. Indeed, though it's usually recommended for people to register copyright if they live in a country where it's possible to do so as it can be a pain to defend yourself if anyone steals your content and you have to take it to court. I'm not sure how common it is with books for anyone to steal though (apart from possible pirated copies in e.g. China etc for more famous books perhaps, but it's not like anyone doing that will care about copyright laws regardless of whether it's registered or not), but it's certainly another issue for e.g. photos where someone might take it and reuse it somewhere else etc.
  8. Probably better to open up a new thread unless your other questions are also about textures - that way it's easier for others to find it if they have similar issues/questions
  9. For periods which are not in the 500 B.C. - 500 A.D. time frame please don't add it to the main art development forum but rather to individual mods depending on which time period it is from. Otherwise it will be hard to find the relevant information if there are a lot of topics about other time periods. All relevant references can of course be posted there though.
  10. Well, the game is not supported to run on Windows 95/98, so thanks for the information, but it's probably not worth looking into.
  11. You say you don't do anything before clicking the simulation test options? When I do that (i.e. click the simulation buttons right after loading Atlas, and before placing any objects/changing any settings) all the players are defeated (which is correct behaviour since no player has fulfilled any of the requirements to win/stay in the game). If you actually have done something it would be very useful if you say what as this behaviour might be correct or incorrect depending on what you have done before clicking the button/buttons.
  12. Not sure what you're saying here. Of course the quicksave doesn't create a normal save file, if that's what you want you should save normally
  13. See http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/HotKeys for the quick save shortcut key
  14. For now it would probably more or less just be useful for testing to find out if you've defined something yourself (so you know it works the way you want it to) or if it just is carried over from the default. It could also be useful for total conversion type mods, but in that case it's probably more likely that it will be distributed as a game of its own anyway and then it can just as well be removed completely. (Assuming the game doesn't run amok if the public mod isn't available?)
  15. I'm talking about the public mod Which at least as far as I can tell is loaded without being explicitly included among the mods to be loaded
  16. Is there a way to disable an entire mod yet? Or will we need something more advanced for that?
  17. I think that would add more issues than it would be an improvement, how would you communicate to a player that he can't place a Civic Center somewhere because it's in another player's territory if the territory isn't shown?
  18. binaries\data\mods\public\art\meshes\skeletal though the main model is only in PMD, there is a DAE for heroes though that might be useful.
  19. That sounds as if you haven't recompiled since the above was added/need to wait for an autobuild. I could be wrong, but it sounds like that kind of an error
  20. It's in this very thread you're replying to So no need to look too far =)
  21. Maybe you should stop viewing the forum on your phone Nah, don't worry, but please do be a bit more careful
  22. If any of the people in the conversation replies, everyone in the conversation will be able to read it. There's no need to install any additional software.
  23. You should be able to do this already Just enter more than one username (separated by commas I believe) in the "Recipient's Name" textbox and it will be sent to everyone There's also a handy function which shows you which of the recipients have read it and when, so in that regard it's better than using a forum thread. As for preventing spammers: We're only allowing PM permissions to members who have already posted five or more ordinary forum posts, and so far that has proved enough to prevent PM spam. (We did have one or two occasions of PM spam before that, which we thankfully were able to catch and remove before most people had a chance to read, so we were at least able to limit their reach.) We don't want to restrict things more than necessary as that would cause limitations for ordinary users as well
