Can't find a subforum for site issues so I'm posting here.
feneur replied to chaosislife13's topic in Help & Feedback
And I who have been thinking about removing that message as it was quite a while ago, but now it seems it can still be useful Presuming you still have access to the email address you registered with you should be able to use the "I've forgotten my password" function, otherwise let me know and I'll help you. As for the other issue please post in the bug reports forum: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showforum=378 The wiki is at http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ though, and to see any errors and warnings you can either press F9 to bring up the in-game terminal + log, or check the interestinglog.html (see http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths for where to find it). -
Not sure which games use Shift + num keys, but in any case 0 A.D. uses Ctrl + num keys which at least is the key combo I've seen in other games. Yeah, there are some settings which can't be changed on their own etc, so we'll have to redo the in-game settings menu to be more intuitive.

Well, generally I'd agree with you, but in the case of these type of posts with personal information and similar I'd say there might be reason to remove them if the poster doesn't want them to be kept online.
-
And you're still here too You've surely improved your skills since the fountain (If you want me to archive/delete this topic just let me know.)

Assuming you've run the game at least once without crashing you should at the very least have interestinglog.html and system_info.txt in your logs folder. Could you also please try to load the saved game again? There should be a crash report that's more in-depth than just "Segmentation fault", please copy the text of that and paste it here.

Just from looking at the image it seems as if there is very little open space for buildings? If so that might be a reason why the AI has got issues on this map.
-
Ok, that was half of what I was asking for
-
Could you please follow the instructions here: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/ReportingErrors for adding e.g. the log files/system_info.txt? Also, the saved game you are trying to load, was it saved with the same version of the game that you are trying to load it with? (E.g. if you saved the match using Alpha 16, are you also trying to load it using Alpha 16?)

Sorry to hear, but sadly Apple has made it too difficult for us to support older versions. Especially since we have very few developers who have got a Mac, and the ones who have got one can only afford to have one computer with one version of the operating system installed.
-
Could someone with knowledge about each platform please post a summary for what it should say? Then I'll gladly post on the web site
-
One can also have both installed and use whichever is best in the case at hand

Click on "More Reply Options", there choose the file you want to attach and then attach (put the two map files in a zip file first).

[RESOLVED] I Can't Delete 2 Objects in Editor
feneur replied to Jesusfreak's topic in Help & Feedback
Another tip is to check the Atlas manual: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Atlas_Manual There are some newer things which needs to be added (anyone with a Trac account can, so if you see something missing please help out), but the basic stuff - including how to interact with Actors (i.e. objects which aren't affecting the gameplay) is there -
Now I've finally posted the news piece on ModDB/IndieDB: http://www.indiedb.com/games/0-ad/news/0-ad-modders-host-map-design-contest (should go live within a day from now, depends on when they have time to moderate it though).

Custom settings are in "local.cfg" not user.cfg (that's used for settings the game changes). local.cfg might need to be created, see default.cfg for the location.
-
Spoofs/satire etc are allowed, would still be nicer to do something unique if we do one though About the logo video, do you mean the one that's e.g. used at the beginning of the Alpha 16 release video: ? Or is it something else you're thinking of?
-
Could you please follow the instructions on this page:http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths for how to get the relevant information (i.e. log files)? I would say system_info.txt is the most important one in this case.

[MAP] Working Title : Conquest and Empire
feneur replied to shieldwolf23's topic in Scenario Design/Map making
Would it be ok if I used a couple of those images in a ModDB/IndieDB post about the map contest? (Have been struggling with how to write about it there since they generally want more than just a bit of text, and I haven't been sure what pictures I'd add.)- 32 replies

Ghengis Khan and the Mongols of his time are well out of the time frame of the first version of 0 A.D. (500 B.C. to 1 B.C.), so they will not be included. There are however mods which feature the relevant time period, maybe you can join them to add this faction.
-
In celebration of the five year anniversary (It's really been five years?! Time flies!) of 0 A.D. going open source the Council of Modders are hosting a map making contest! Please head over to the thread to read more about the rules and rewards, and to submit your maps of course

Technical Triggers discussion
feneur replied to sanderd17's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
You need to keep the Alt-key pressed while interacting with the actors. But yeah, sadly it seems like Gnome have kidnapped the Alt-key completely in these cases -
Attacked units does flash on the minimap as well, but it could of course still be a useful addition to be able to press a key to go to it directly. Iirc AoK had a similar feature where you could cycle through the last notification sounds (i.e. things like building created etc as well) by pressing Home.

Calling someone a pest is certainly being offensive, but the point wasn't whether or not you were being offensive in this specific case. The point was that you don't seem to learn from your mistakes. No matter how many times we've told you to respect the rules for these forums and other forum members in general and team members in particular, you've kept being disrespectful, and we can't let that continue. I don't really see what I can say that can get through to you though, so this is my final post in your direction. Had you actually seemed interested in contributing to this forum and a good environment here I might have cared, but right now my tolerance threshold is very low and you will be permanently banned for anything which isn't constructive. Posting any more in this thread: will get you banned. Insulting people/calling people names: will get you banned. Posting meaningless topics: will get you banned. Sending rude PMs: will get you banned. Etc. The only things which will not get you banned are constructive topics (such as about your ROME mod), or on-topic replies in other people's topics.

No, he just wanted to ask the rest of the team for our opinion on this matter. I have a feeling the answer will be to ban you permanently as that was what the majority of people suggested not the last time you misbehaved on these forums, but the time before that! The only reason we didn't that time was that I felt that it would be unfair to do that for a lesser offense after only having banned you for three days for the bigger one before that, and no one cared enough to argue further. Now I no longer feel that way, so if we make such a decision I will carry it out. You have had more than enough warnings, and yet not displayed a change of behaviour, so there's no point in continuing to give you new chances.
