  1. And I think you are excused, Radagast. Let's move forward and try to accommodate each other, however rose colored that view is. As you said, let it not be about you nor the past disagreements - the purpose of this thread is to welcome a new lead and to say thanks to the previous one. Let's honor that, and hope the future brings good tidings for all of us.
  2. Congrats Nicolas, and thank you for your leadership, Erik. Here's toast for both of you, and for the future of 0 AD!
  3. I think we can have both, if having both won't be much of a bother. That way, we can let players choose what suits him best.
  4. Paraworld I have played and completed. It is a decent RTS, and contrary to the general opinion, I have enjoyed it, especially if you completed the whole story arc. Oshron's last post could also work. Having extinct versions of the current animals would be okay.
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Early Christmas present indeed
  6. Have anyone of you played Paraworld? That game is a solid presentation of technology and prehistory mixed together to make a memorable RTS game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ParaWorld
  7. My two cents worth: CEN The Anglo-Saxon poem gives the name cen "torch". The torch is known to every living manby its pale, bright flame; it always burnswhere princes sit within. see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaunan
  8. Definitely, progression for towers would be a logical choice.
  9. How did you come across 0 A.D. I was looking for RTS games (there aren't many after RON, AOE and Empire Earth) , and found 0 AD via Wikipedia (that was the first time, I think). I went and lurked at the website/ forums, and found out later about the Indiegogo drive. Lurked more, and then Niek invited me to stay. I'm not that active due to work and personal constraints (I'm now married and planning to have kids), but 0 AD is still prominently displayed in my "game center" at home. What motivates you to play 0 A.D.? I have played it on and off these past few years, although recently only around 1 to 2 hours in about 2 to 3 days a week. To be honest, Omri's music really is a soothing one, while the game itself is engaging. Historical RTS games are really my type, and having 0 AD as a modern incarnation is a blast. Is there anything you want from any part of the 0 A.D. community and feel you're not getting? If so, why? The community itself is very mature, and supportive to ideas. I salute the core team in handling the site and the game development, and the volunteers whose labors are labors of love. I'm proud to be part of this community! Is there any more information you'd like to add? Info, none. But thanks for this opportunity, Jeru! What is your age, gender, and location? 32, Male, Philippines (now in UAE).
  10. I think that a better way is for them to become slaves first, tied up to some features being worked on by the community.
  11. Yes Palaxin, she has. Very nice, durable and overall a good choice for her.
  12. I can tell you Lion, it is. I have placed it in a prominent part of my game station at home!
  13. Palaxin, my wife have the same ultrabook as yours. It is such a beauty!
  14. Agree on Stan. That would really help envisioning as well as taking a look on what we still need to do with the game. People like me who are really on and off with the game and its development would also benefit in that we could track visually the progress of the things made and where we stand now.
  15. All you guys working hard on this, congrats!
  16. I much like the idea of battalions, but you can always accommodate single units, like what Empire Earth II: Art of Supremacy did, wherein you can select a group of units and have them form an army, as long as an officer/ hero unit is included in that group.
  17. The wife got me an early x-mas gift: Alienware 13 i7 5500U CPU @2.4GHZ 16 GB RAM 2GB dedicated GTX 860m Reinstalling all programs currently. By the way, and off-topic, any chance I can avoid spending too much time reinstalling all my programs (anyone knows how to , like, clone my old software installations to my new rig?)
  18. I actually like the idea of having resources stored in warehouses/ city centers/ houses; losing them would lose those stored resources. That would be realistic and strategic and would add a good layer in the game. As to units consuming food, I agree that having to deal with units individually for the consumption of food would be a little outside of 0 AD's straight-up RTS feel, having supply carts would address this. Many of you would know of the supply cart's value in Rise of Nations, wherein the supply cart reduces the units attrition. Modifying the supply cart to be the "counter" for food or any other "maintenance resource". We can have the supply cart a necessity whenever a player venture out of his territory (simulating the role of logistics), and losing the supply cart would have drastic consequences on an army. We can also have the supply cart lose points or loaded resources to simulate food/ supplies being used, so that the player needs another supply cart or have to move the existing one to the nearest warehouse/ supply repository for replenishment.
  19. Looking good mate! Just don't forget to litter them with small stones for accents.
