  1. I think that being able to train rams and all units on that camp ensures a spam battle (since you can place it everywhere on the map)
  2. I realize I should've done this ages before but I updated the first post with some sort of design document (the buildings, unique technologies and team bonuses are not added yet)
  3. Right now the latest version is Alpha 18, but in the upcoming version Alpha 19 you will be able to capture buildings (but you can still destroy them too)
  4. Play Alpha 19 when it's out and that'll answer your question
  5. No they don't at the moment. And for the moment they're broken.
  6. Prologue: Let's go back to the motherland and look to what happened prior to the discovery of what now is Hvanndalir. A couple of youthly fellows is send away to prove that they have what it takes to be true Norsemen. (that temple you see on the right side is made by Stanislas69) They leave on their ship in search of adventures, riches but most of all: honour. Back again to Hvanndalir Our little town is growing immersively because it's in a strategic location for raids on the mainland. Therefore the island will soon grow too small. Expanding to other places however isn't possible without waging war because of the ominous presence of Carolingians. The Elders are aware of that and they're recruiting new forces in the motherland. Also new, and higher quality armours have been made (by wackyserious and Stanislas69) like you see in the 2nd image of this post. The King has heard of the preparations and has sent some of his finest men: Huskárls (by wackyserious and Stanislas69). Will the Norse be able to get a foothold on Carolingian lands? P.S.:The first two images are taken on the brand new Fjords skirmish map made by Skhorn. The images also showcase the new building textures made by niektb and Stanislas69. niektb has retextured two old buildings from 0 A.D. The left is a market, the right is a house: New GUI The main menu background is made by Alexlinde from Deviantart. You can find him here: http://alexlinde.deviantart.com/ Next to that Lion.Kanzen has made a couple of buttons and backgrounds in the UI. Help needed! You probably noticed that it has been a while since we posted updates (about 11 months!). That's not without reason. In the last few months a couple members retired leaving us shorthanded. We are currently especially in the need of artists. So if you're a talented artist with a passion for history and you would like to help us out, please contact us using a PM or in this thread: Wildfiregames...showtopic=18412 Also we really want to do a release along with 0 A.D. Alpha 19 so we are in the need of some playtesters to iron out possible bugs and to enhance the gameplay. Please note that it is required to install the developer version of 0 A.D. which is a little complicated so it might not be for everyone (http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/BuildInstructions) Lastly we would like to start on the Carolingian units but we do not have a design document or a unit roster yet. So if you're into French history and like to talk about how the civilization should play and look, please sign up on our forum and let us hear your opinion here: http://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18998 Thanks in advance!
  7. actually, oshron, I think a sort of architectural advance isn't strange at all. Where a village mostly has humble and small buildings a rich city has large and nice-looking buildings, more expensive build materials and so on...(for an extreme case, compare a small farming village to a large city like Rome) However, there are buildings (mostly Wonders) that have no model at all so I figure that there are higher priority tasks around.
  8. Very simple: we don't have enough buildings for that.
  9. There won't be a service pack. It's all a rolling release wow.
  10. It's fairly easy to reinstall your drivers (I did a clean install so I had to install the drivers anyway)
  11. I tried playing 0 A.D. (Alpha 18) on Windows 10 and experienced no issues.
  12. Actually, they're (most) already presevered when switching maps. Do you play the latest version? (Which?)
  13. I think I can't do a lot for that (except by creating a texture pack of my own but I'm not sure if that improves it a lot)
  14. I'm not sure whether food consumption is something that fits in 0 A.D. it's more something that should go in a simulator game (or mod) but I don't think it is a good thing to have in 0 A.D. (because it is not quite a simulator game.) It's good to have it technically possible of course...
  15. It is true that Millennium A.D. uses some of his songs but generally I find them to bombastic and heavy...
  16. Assuming that you play Alpha 18: Capturing buildings!
  17. Sounds more like a suggestion for team games where you have 1 general which assigns stuff to his captains (team members) (so he could assign an army to his best general and order him to attack and on the fly gives his best mayor the control of a city to provide resources and soldiers...
  18. Thanks, Stan! I've just changed the map format to svn.
  19. I believe it was meant to be a wonder (read page 6)
