  1. Yes, but the banner is only the vanilla "waypoint" flag for now. I'll see if I can commit some banners more like my screenshots.

  2. Hello. First time player here. I just want to say that I feel very fortunate to have experienced 0AD, and want to say thanks especially for the main devs for making the game and setting it the way that it is as a FOSS. With gratitude out of the way, since I'm still finding my way around, is there like a detailed changelog of what is changed mechanically in this latest built? I had been trying out the civs with youtube videos as a guide to play them, and one of the supposed Athenians strong point of Era 2 champion Athenian Mariners were locked to be built from the dock behind a reform tech in Era 3. The current ingame text only said that the reform would only affect their construction aboard the ships, but seems like it had locked them all together. I don't want to report it as a bug, since its maybe a feature and I dont see a "questions that doesnt warrant their own thread - thread" so sorry for asking it here.

  3. Crossbows are trash units in DE, because although crossbows are more technological than bows, they were equipped on masses of quickly trained peasants.

  4. Nothing different from the main game? (I'm saying that those can be fixed after committed.)

  5. Build more spear and sword units than ranged units first. Prioritize rams when attacked. Don't go p2 immediately. Do p2 after first or 2nd round of attacks. Make sure to always be mainly melee (spear/sword) until champions and you'll be fine.

  6. It's the spiral of death. They'll keep following the trail of pheromones until they die. Nvm, that's ants.

  7. This is possibly nothing new - boats can be now built with turret mechanics. Units transported by them will sit down unless they have something to attack in range. Currently, the boat also slows down proportionally to the number of passengers.

  8. so make the civ special by allowing peasants to take up a weapon = crossbow and defend own base lol. sounds actually unique for that civ.

  9. After trying out a few battles against the AI I think the civ is not yet ready for commit; there are big balancing issues. The techs available to archers solves the range vs dps problem, but the crossbow champions are quite useless... we should replace them with a spear cav champion, or add a spear cav champion alongside (like the Seleucids and Persians).

  10. that was testing. turtling and full wood gathering. 90% spearman or melee infantry. I won it without phase 2. Turtling , with houses and palisades ( rams focus this before been destroyed). less than 25 min it took me to win.

  12. It would be ideal that once a formation is given, civil actions should be limited, due to bugs. No gathering. No building. unless the formation is removed. I say this because of the pathfinder bugs. @Freagarach@Stan`

  13. we can invite to lobby multiplayer experts to balance our new Faction/Civs.

  14. I won a legendary 1v1 without losing a single unit: the enemy resigned after I killed 4 of his units. He was terrified by my 130 units large army that arrived at his base at minute 15. It was the height of A24 when everyone spammed archers. He was 1200 and I was 1300-1400 at the time.

  15. In terms of skill: we get new players joining everyday so it gets updated every day. In terms of personality, well, we don't know the AI players, but out of the ones in the lobby who can speak English: 1. p _ _ _ _ _ (luckily this guy is gone now after dancing is nerfed) 2. J _ (doesn't like vaccines) 3. S _ _ _ _ S _ _ _ _ _ (haven't seen him in a while) 4. M _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (was active in A24 then got banned, likes to spam the chat with insults but never plays) 5 F _ _ _ _ ? (likes to farm points from noobs then quit without resigning to keep his rating high) 6 ? 7 ? 8 ? You are free to fill in the gaps with letters using your imagination. Those who stay in the lobby a lot can know from just the first letter and name length. I am glad that I can only find 5 names, out of hundreds of players I have seen.

  16. Can do we an 8 worst players list after this?

  17. @Lion.KanzenExactly! One has barely the time to go to the second phase that Gaia attacks with battering rams.

  18. Generally speaking no, but auras can be computational intensive, so attaching it to every tree seem like guaranteed lag.

  19. Would it be bad to simply give each gaia tree(provided its part of a generated forest) this aura (3 meters or so), so when they are cut down the overall aura the forest has is reduced? I think if this is implemented, groves would not be necessary.

  20. The spear/polearm being specifically designed to combat cavalry is a bit of an RTS convention; simply by virtue of much better reach spears were used by and large by all infantry regardless of whether they were facing cavalry or not. Whether a spearman would outperform a horseman one-on-one is a triviality in which matters of other equipment, training, etc,... complicate the matter. Even if the game does not embrace a battalion system, it would be nice for players to benefit from engaging in orderly formations. Even making it possible if only suboptimal would be a nice change of pace. I personally like to see my troops in proper battle lines, but the stand ground stance is annoyingly restrictive while the defensive stance goes too much in the other extreme.
