  1. In the interest of transparency, the Wildfire Games team would like to report on its finances as of 2020-01-01. In 2019, 0 A.D. had funds in two places: A legacy account on Flattr, a Sweden-based microdonation provider. Funds earmarked for the project and held in trust by US-based non-profit organization Software in the Public Interest, Inc. (hereafter “SPI”); Flattr Legacy Account In the beginning of 2019, we had 865.28 EUR as well as approximately 2 USD in our Flattr account. At our request, SPI helped us withdraw the portion of funds that were in EUR in 2019-02. This portion of the Flattr funds is now part of the SPI earmark for 0 A.D. (see below). Only the latter portion, that was in USD, remained on Flattr. Since sums under 10 USD cannot be withdrawn from Flattr, and the balance is not likely to reach that threshold anytime soon, the Treasury Committee decided to delete the account and let Flattr take the remaining funds. This completes the consolidation of 0 A.D.'s assets and prevents problems down the road. The Flattr legacy account is now closed. SPI Earmark for 0 A.D. As of 2020-01-01, the 0 A.D. earmark is USD 34,970.84 USD (Source: SPI Treasurer’s Report). This grand total includes the Flattr funds, which made up about a quarter of the income for 2019 (926.61 USD out of 4384.99 USD). Taken together, this represents a small increase in 0 A.D.'s assets from previous years, and shows that the project's finances have been stable over time. Concluding Remarks The 0 A.D. project finances are managed by the Treasury Committee: Erik (“feneur”) and Aviv (“Jeru”). We need you! We invite members of the 0 A.D. community to volunteer on the committee and help us put the funds to good use. We also welcome your questions, comments and suggestions.

  3. @Alexandermb recently put together a blend file that allows to customize shields. Using the video he provided you can just import stencils and apply them on shields Aspis Bake.mp4 He thought you might want to try specific patterns @wowgetoffyourcellphone and @Nescio The provided video should show you how to do it easily. 0.A.D. 4. Earthwork palisades could serve as city walls and geoglyph as wonder. Thinking of how their forestry could be implemented into gameplay, perhaps a tech that allow villagers to build trees like they do fields ? Or just a big boost to wood and berry gathering.

  8. The Germans Cimbri, Suebians, Goths https://github.com/JustusAvramenko/delenda_est/commit/74653b71376ba38593f675e4051586769292b59b https://github.com/JustusAvramenko/delenda_est Need halp from our resident historians, artists, and reference gatherers. Units Since the Suebi were a tribal confederation, units will have tribal designations, for example: Marcomanni Spearman, Quadi Light Cavalry, etc. Goths will represent the "later" Germans, with round shields, more helmets, more chain mail, greater cavalry. Suebian units look like "early" Germans, with hexagonal shields, fewer helmets, less chain mail, greater reliance on infantry. Basic units - Bare chested or Animal hide. Pants. Shield. Weapon. No helmet. Advanced units - Shirt. Pants. Shield. Weapon. No helmet. Elite units - Shirt. Pants. Cape. Shield. Weapon. Simple Germanic helmet. Champions and Heroes - Heavy body armor. Germanic helmet. Suebian Heroes Ariovistus Leader of the Suebi and other allied Germanic peoples in the second quarter of the 1st century BC. He and his followers took part in a war in Gaul, assisting the Arverni and Sequani in defeating their rivals, the Aedui. They then settled in large numbers into conquered Gallic territory, in the Alsace region. They were defeated, however, in the Battle of Vosges and driven back over the Rhine in 58 BC by Julius Caesar. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Ariovistus Maroboduus King of the Marcomanni, who were Germanic Suebian people. He spent part of his youth in Rome, and returning, found his people under pressure from invasions by the Roman empire between the Rhine and Elbe. He led them into the forests of Bohemia, adjacent to the Quadi who already lived nearby, and established a large alliance. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Maroboduus Ballomar Leader of the Marcomanni. At first a Roman client ruler; during the first Marcomannic War he formed an alliance with other Germanic tribes and invaded Italy. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Ballomar Arminius Was a Roman officer and later chieftain of the Germanic Cherusci tribe who is best known for commanding an alliance of Germanic tribes at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD, in which three Roman legions under the command of general Publius Quinctilius Varus were destroyed. His victory at Teutoburg Forest would precipitate the Roman Empire's permanent strategic withdrawal from Magna Germania. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Arminius Found in the Mercenary Camp. Goth Heroes Alaric I History Wiki Link Theodoric I History Wiki Link Theodoric the Great History Wiki Link Buildings All wooden, less health than "standard" civs. "Walls" are a wooden stockade, halfway in strength between palisades and stone walls. "Fortress" is wooden. Building "shapes" should roughly follow Empires Ascendant standard, but with a Germanic veneer or aesthetic. There can be some unique exceptions for visual variety however. Maybe houses are longer than they are wide with a rectangular footprint, in contrast to other civs whose houses generally fit a square footprint. Later Goths will have more of a nomadic gameplay (like Huns or Scythians) with no territory. It would be interesting if Hyrule:Conquest's hero selection UI could be used to "split" the Goths into Visigoths and Ostrogoths. Art Needed Each one needs its own civ emblem. Unit head models with the "Suebian Knot" and beards for the Suebian units. New unit body and shield textures. Some new helmet models. New building art set.

  9. Been researching their ships, according to Tacitus boats like the Hjorstpring one were still in use by the Suiones centuries after that find. They will probably be a very weak civ navally, first find of a larger boat is the one bellow from the 4th century (Based on what i read in previous posts, it seems the civ's timeframe ends after the Marcomannic wars in the late 2nd century). , There are a couple accounts of north sea tribes raiding in rivers or by sea but the accounts just mention boats without much specifics. Some possible names Fiskarijaz Baitaz (Fishing ship) Kauponabaitaz (Trade ship), Skipa (Light war ship). The first post says that units will have tribal names, possible tribes for a warship would be Suardones, Angles and Chauci (Last two are not exactly Suebian but sometimes joined them in wars).

  12. This thread has some information, although a few units are only hypothetical (IE Cataphracts) https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?524454-Preview-Mamleket-haHashmonayim I`d say one of those palaces (Either Herod`s third palace or Jannaeu's fortified mountain palace) you posted would make a good wonder. Alongside with Judah Maccabee, Herod and Jannaeus could be the heroes. I am not sure how to portray the Second Temple of Jerusalem; maybe it could be a unique building who is a kind of a sub-wonder, a super-temple required to reach phase III that can train a high priest (Special priest with build limit of one) and provides some sort of bonus (Territory expansion, buildings harder to capture, nearby units fight harder) but also a malus if destroyed. I am also unsure if it should be a additional structure alongside the normal temple (Synagogue); or if it should straight up replace the temple (With the Synagogue being a civ center). Or maybe it should not be in game, to avoid controversy on it being a destructible structure ?
