  1. I realize I am pretty late to comment on this but if anyone is still interested in this, this revision adds support for using 0 AD like an OpenAI gym environment. There are a couple simple examples using this API at https://github.com/brollb/simple-0ad-example where the agent learns how to kite cavalry archers when fighting infantry!

  2. This would be great! A true standard 1v1 to settle any issues. Would it be possible without the map needing to be a Skirmish map?

  3. I'm creating this thread to discuss how to make the mod stella artis : https://github.com/0ADMods/stella_artis/ Ground Rules: It must play like StarCraft Three factions only Must be set in a futuristic (sci-fi) timeframe Two resources TODO: Find the names for all three civs Create the 3 civs.json Create the templates for all units and buildings Create the techs, auras and whatnot Define the building footprints for all civs (ex 4x4 5x5 2x2.. etc) so placeholder buildings can be used @Lion.Kanzen

  5. Hello @kangz You have two options. Either download a fixed bundle from Here Or in the game options in the lobby tab disable TLS. Sorry for the inconvenience...

  6. A fully mirrored map will mean that a player will be capable of knowing exactly what resources, and where, the enemy has. So for an early rush I'll know exactly where all the berry spots are, where the woodlines are and such. It severely reduces importance of scouting. Other than that not too many downsides I can think of right now.

  7. I think so. Random maps follow a script, so the script creator just have to make sure that each resource he puts in side 1, he puts another in the mirrored position in side 2.

  8. Hey there! I have been enjoying 0. A.D for quite a while (I played it for many years but only recently played under this alias and more actively/consistently in the community). Previously I have played some open source games among Xonotics, which have an amazing competitive platform for their players. I am kind of a techie and think it would be a great-to-have thing for 0. A.D as well. I imagine (as a minimum for launch): - a list of the players and their ranking / statistics such as captured by the Ranking bot - a list of game stats of previous games (who played with whom) - a possibility to upload / hyperlink recaps from aforementioned games There may be more things that are amazing (such as: lobby-preview, queue-for-join, matchmaking) but they are more complicated and outside of the reach what can be done in a simple manner in few hours of work. I would love such a platform so I can more easily find replays which allows me (and other newcomers) to become better in the game. I have studied the source code of the lobby and know that is done in XMPP (with custom stanzas). This however is a bit sub-optimal because it would require extensive polling from the lobby server to get accurate stats. I am hoping that there is a way to retrieve a read-only copy of the rating data set somehow (let me know!). Please give me some feedback on whether this would be appreciated in the 0. A.D community, and if it is, whom I would need to talk to to make it happen! All the best, Rahmsauce

  10. That's an Easter egg. Noldor → J. R. R. Tolkien → Quenya (which I had to look up). As in Classical Latin, c means /k/ in all positions. Mankar Cirya would be pronounced /mankar kirja/. Yes, unfortunately there are many inconsistencies present in 0 A.D. Ideally all Mauryan specific names would be in the International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration (IAST), thus Aśvārahogaṇaḥ, not Aswarahoganah or something else. What is needed is someone with knowledge of Sanskrit to check and correct the current specific names. Elsewhere (generic names etc.) things would be Anglicized; e.g. `maur_hero_ashoka.xml`: <GenericName>Ashoka the Great</GenericName> <SpecificName>Aśoka Devānāmpriya</SpecificName>

  11. Hi, As i'm nearly finishing the map of the Acropolis of Athens, i would like to receive any feedback or suggestions regarding historical facts. So please if you are willing to help me, pointing me where i did a mistake by including or not, an historical building, let me know. The depicting period is the classical. Some references: Starting with the @wowgetoffyourcellphone suggestion, but waiting to know which building i have to remove, as it confused me. lol Of course, the official presentation of the map will have its proper introduction with some historical background, i will do my best at it. Here it goes

  13. Will make sack's of flour/wheat for use them in prop points, and i don't know if they had a blacksmith but instead i will make a wood carver as the barrack with some big yurt with bows and quivers around also, i think i will need the new horse mesh and skeleton that will be used with the cavalry update for place them with prop points around the yurts or the yurt with wheels.

  14. I've won a lot of games with turtle tactics, but you have to be very efficient. Not the easiest way. Try building 10 archers and rushing them across the map. Don't get within range of the enemy Civic Center, attack their gatherers and farmers.
