(Hopefully this is the correct place to post.) Some types of fruit bushes can be very hard to see in game. They're identifiable if you know what to look for when maximally zoomed in (the five in the screenshot below), but not really when you play typically maximally zoomed out. Perhaps something for you, @LordGood?4 points

My mod has two Heroes (Sitacles and Teres 1) and three civ bonuses (+5% population bonus, +1 speed but -1 hack and pierce armor, and a champion peltast). I think I planned for the team bonus to be a special Thracian Peltast Merc for allies. The champion units were in my mod were the Thracian Black Cloak, a champion Peltast, and a Calvary Skrimisker.2 points
-
There is no consistency in the main game on this point, so why must it be so for the Thracians? I'd say use whatever abbreviation best abbreviates and makes clear what civ it is.2 points
-
The Terra Magna civs use four-letter abbreviations as well (chin, xion, zapo). I'd recommend switching to illy and thra (instead of illyr and thrac) for consistency sooner rather than later, because it'll be more work when more files are added. Plus ships (use mace as placeholder), siege ram (perhaps celt as placeholder), and most importantly, a complete structure set. Also, I made a few pull requests with minor corrections (female citizen etc.)2 points
-
`mod.json` file is missing (intentional?), also for Illyrians mod. A licence file should be added too. Out of curiosity, why do you use five-letter civ abbreviations (illyr, thrac)? Most 0 A.D. civs have four letters (e.g. brit, celt, gaul, etc.).2 points

I doubt he is misundertsnding the things. He perfectly know what he is saying and doing,2 points

I really don't see what's the misunderstanding, just resign in a rated game and you won't break the rules. This rule is literally written in the lobby, it's not like it is hidden or something. If it isn't a rated game then of course he didn't violate the TOS then.2 points

I use mac and the screen always glitches for a second or so after starting a mod. 0AD window closes weirdly by sliding out of screen, to the right, while a black screen slides in from right to left, revealing my desktop for split second and then the 0AD window with mod activated appears on top of the black screen. No other program slides windows in and out of view like that. It doesn't seem to cause any issues though...2 points

Hasmonean, I was thinking of the Maccabean Revolt. It could expand to the Herodian dynasty, I think.2 points

I am more in favor of a leather or linen cuirass with a disc (cardiophylax) for the interpretation.2 points

Thracian texture sets are now in the SVN version. I will work on some things before committing the functional faction to the repository. Yesterday, I tested this and played as the Thracians versus the Illyrians on the new farmlands map. It was so immersive, I enjoyed it.2 points

Would need a complete refactoring of the keyboard handling code not a trivial task most likely to take months to do so it comes down to a decision of is all the extra work worth the effort and are there other things that take priority(always lots of those) we are always short on coders/programmers.So basically it's a resource allocation problem the resources being the coders time. Enjoy the Choice1 point

Yeah, variations of it are quite common along the entire Sahara and Sudanic Belt, from Southern Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal in the West, through Mali, Burkina Faso, Southern Algeria, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Southern Libya, Chad, Northern Central African Republic, Sudan, Egypt and parts of the Levant and Arabian Peninsula. Probably has many different names in many different languages. People like Tuareg, Sanhaja and other Berbers (Imazighen), African Arabs (like the Baggara), Egyptian, North African and Middle Eastern Bedouins, Toubou, Zaghawa, Kanembu, Fulani, Hausa and others wear variations of it (some more ornate than others). Mostly worn by nomadic cattle herders and long distance traders, or aristocratic cavalry people. Mostly Muslims wear it, but as the wiki page you linked suggests, I'm also convinced that the look predates the advent of Islam by a long time.1 point

That wouldn't be because you turned off shadows? lol It's true, those particular bushes suck though.1 point

Actually thanks to @Bigtiger it will not be problem but someone would need to edit maps in 0ad svn with new stuff.1 point

Maybe I'm being too harsh based on my experience. The wood is not so easy to cut, except for certain maps. Even so in the campaigns there should be bonus if you do some secondary quest. AOE 2 campaigns you have this.1 point

Yeah, popular culture has an obsession with writing important black Africans out of history, and then reinserting blacks into places they don't historically belong. It's very frustrating. For example last year BBC came out with a miniseries called Troy: Fall of a City. They made Achilles a black man... WHY?! They even made Zeus a black man... WHY?! But Memnon, one of the key figures in the war, was completely written out of the story, as usual... Memnon was considered to be almost Achilles' equal in skill, and was loved by Zeus himself! They removed an actual black king from the actual story, and replaced one of the main white protagonists with a black man instead. Why are they doing this??? Aaaargh?!@# It's just deliberately designed to stir controversy... Interestingly, the dating of the Trojan war has been a little uncertain, and the consensus has already shifted a century or so... Since the 3rd century BC at least, the ancients identified the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III, as Memnon (according to Ptolemaic Egyptian priest Manetho, also see Colossi of Memnon). Amenhotep III, a black pharaoh of the 18th Dynast (New Kingdom), ruled only a century or so before the current dating of the Trojan war. There is little basis to confirm Amenhotep III as the mythical Memnon, but it's interesting, to say the least, and there were others called Amenhotep, after him as well, including at least one viceroy of Kush... Also, The Egyptian Empire actually bordered Anatolia during this period... And during the reign of Ramesses II, the treaty of Khadesh was signed, a peace treaty between the Hittites and the Egyptians (around the time of the Trojan war). Ramesses II was succeeded by Merneptah. During the New Kingdom, Kush was part of Egypt and Egyptian armies had large numbers of Kushites serving (often referred to as Nubians in modern writing). Ramesses and Merneptah actually fought of invasions from "sea peoples", and the whole history of the Eastern Mediterranean seems very intertwined... Amenhotep III, and Memnon:1 point

If you play the Git DE, you get to preview a lot of cool stuff that official dev version hasn't yet implemented. I like to take all the new stuff added to the game and immediately play with it and iterate and try to get as much out of it as I can to showcase all the hard work of these guys as best as possible. Plus, perhaps my experimentation can be added to the core game or at least inform the team members on how the cool features and assets they've put in their game can be used, and then they decide. You can try out stone quarries right now on the Saharan Oases 2 and 4 skirmish maps. You can also gather food, berry-style, from these gorgeous fruiting Date Palms by @LordGood:1 point

If there is an easier way to configure the keys, then I generally won't care however you guys set the defaults. For now, I like my left hand on the left side of the keyboard. I tend not to use the keyboard shortcuts since shift+click > shift+any_key.1 point

Not for me. I often prefer to align myself at the bottom of the map so that I can expand "upwards". I've also seen at least two Youtubers who like looking at the front of the buildings. Not to mention that there are maps (the ones with mountains for example) that kind of forces you to rotate the camera just to plunk down a building nicely without blocking your view.1 point

Very well handled. After looking at quite a few of his posts in the past I completely agree with the staff's decision, as even this is being lenient. Romulus if you are reading this then I would be grateful for the fact that the staff has allowed this to continue for as long as it has. They are even giving you one last chance despite your failure to take advantage of your many chances in the past to clean yourself up. if you seriously wish to improve your behavior and rejoin the community then I challenge you to read on and prove feneur wrong. Otherwise, please don't waste everyone's time any further if you don't seriously wish to improve. I recommend that you take a walk or whatever it is that helps you think, and then sit down and make a list of things that you need to improve in your posts at wildfiregames' forums. Politely pm a couple of the staff members to help you and politely ask them to explain anything you don't understand. Proofread every pm you write twice before you send it. Once right after you write it and once after taking a break and doing other things. You may want to save pm's and posts in a word document so you can look at them later to check for any bannable errors. You need to be as careful as you can to prevent yourself from slipping up. If you enter a state where you feel anger or rage then take a break and come back to the computer with a cool head. Overall, remember to use common sense and treat others like you would like to be treated. Gratuitous swearing, insults, or trolling will get you banned. If you must be rude and flame someone don't do it at this extremely early stage in your rehabilitation. Just don't say anything at all until you can post without being rude. Later on, at least be smart and creative about it if you must do it at all(Again, it is best to not do it at all!). Don't go calling others names or insulting their [insert adjective here]. In general, you'll never go wrong by being nice, polite and mature. There is a general etiquette that the community members follow that you can only learn through reading and posting but here are a few examples: Jokes at the expense of someone's gender, race, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation are not acceptable.DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS EVER AGAIN. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE SCREAMINGPost your topics in the appropriate forum. If you can't find a topic you created, politely pm a staff member about it and do NOT under ANY circumstances make a new topic to ask what happened to the original topic or to just re-post what just got moved/removed. Don't post NSFW content, this isn't the place for it.Don't spam.Don't go overboard with meme's, and don't post any meme that may be considered rude or insulting.Respect veterans of the community, they have been here long enough to acquire a certain level of respect from others. It is very important to carefully consider the context of the conversation and the user you are responding to. Make sure you are informed on a discussion before posting your thoughts as that topic you thought from the title was about berries might have evolved into a conversation about giraffes and elephants. Don't be a backseat moderator or post just for the sake of being rude or posting without contributing anything in general. Some people bring happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go.
