Hi, I was in the mood to update my map, so I made some design detail changes and repaired a few mistakes. The file is attatched to the first post. A fence placed in order to make citizen feel more comfy on the cliffs of the persian town. The red sea now has sime underwater structure. And I just realized that the map on the first page is very ountdated ... it did not even contain the Kushite town. Greetings and everyone have a happy new year! mimesot6 points

@Lion.Kanzen It comes from there, the Marlborough bucket: http://www.berkshirehistory.com/archaeology/white_horse4.html If you are interested by alternative design to use on shields, there are an interesting tradition of dragonesque brooch in Britain: There are also chariots decorations that could be used as well:3 points

Beware to not confuse different period, this a Hallstatt neck ring. Not La TÚne. This is a kind of neck ring you will never find after 500 BC. Some other example of torque. https://br.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restr:Torque_à _tampons_Somme-Suippe_Musée_Saint-Remi_120208.jpg https://books.openedition.org/cths/2631 http://www.arbre-celtique.com/encyclopedie/torques-299.htm2 points

Hello and welcome! 0 A.D. is a project that has been (and still is) in development for years; what we have right now is the result of numerous volunteers contributing in their free time, which is great. People come and go, though, and not everyone has the same standards or is fully aware of what has been done before; as a consequence the game is full of inconsistencies (the game is still in alpha stage and is not perfect); e.g. at least three different transcriptions of Greek are currently used, e.g. η is sometimes written as e, sometimes Ä, sometimes i. I believe the idea is to have two sets of Greek: Attic for the Classical factions and Koine for the Hellenistic states. However, Greek text strings currently in game appear a mixture of Modern, Hellenistic, and Classical, and voice recordings are very much a work in progress. Anyway, if you're interested in actively contributing to the development version of 0 A.D., you probably should register at https://code.wildfiregames.com/ and https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ as well.2 points

@camelator You can compile the game like this - Download 0ad data - Deflate both files in the same directory and change to that directory in the terminal - Run sudo apt-get install build-essential libboost-dev libboost-filesystem-dev \ libcurl4-gnutls-dev libenet-dev libgloox-dev libicu-dev \ libminiupnpc-dev libnspr4-dev libnvtt-dev libogg-dev libopenal-dev \ libpng-dev libsdl2-dev libvorbis-dev libwxgtk3.0-dev libxcursor-dev \ libxml2-dev subversion zlib1g-dev sudo apt-get install libsodium-dev See https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/BuildInstructions#DebianUbuntu if you get an error - Compile (https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/BuildInstructions#Building) cd 0ad/build/workspaces ./update-workspaces.sh -j3 cd gcc make -j3 cd ../../.. - Run from that dir binaries/system/pyrogenesis2 points

Britons roster design: Britons roster: Village Spearman - Catucos (combatant) Javelin skirmisher - Adretos (who runs fast, attacker). Light cavalry with javelins - Marcacos (cavalryman). Town Slinger - Telmiuicos (slinger) Lance cavalry - Epossos (horseman, raider or "knight"). Swordsman - Batoros (who-hit-hard, fighter). The Caledonians are described as using longswords and small shield and the Picts are described fighting naked. War-Dogs - Agrocuna (battle/bloody/killer dog) City Champion chariot warrior - Esseda (war chariot). The Britons use war chariots with a driver and an elite warrior, they throw javelins from it and continue the fight on foot (possibility for the unit to transport one infantryman ?) Champion swordsman - Argos (battle champion, noble) Champion skirmisher infantryman - Caur (old-Irish for champion). I propose an Irish elite javelinist, with a historical irish shortsword. If the double weapons switch is implanted, it could be an interesting unit. Polyvalentï»ż. ï»żï»żï»ż The Britons have unique shields. Here some conceptual designs for the shape: Small with crescent-shaped ends and intensively concave. (Salisbury votive miniature + H-shaped shield of the Medieval Pictish Ardchattan Priory stone) Small oval shape. (Salisbury votive miniature). Medium and tall with crescent-shaped ends (Salisbury votive miniature, Mill Hill shield, Bryer shield) Tall, oval shape, classical. (Chertsey Shield) Tall and narrow, rectangular-ish shape with round ends. (Witham Shield) Medium, oval but slightly 8-shaped. (Battersea shield). Small square shape. (Medieval Pictish Brough of Birsay stone) Medium rectangular shape (Antonine wall + Clonoura shieldï»żï»ż) The Britons have as well unique decorated shields bosses. Here some conceptual designs: Full bronze facing (Witham, Battersea, Chertsey shields) Round central shield boss in bronze (Wandsworth shield boss, the three shield bosses of the Polden Hill, Tal-y-Llyn shield boss). Spina shaped bronze shield boss (one from Llyn Cerrig Bach, fragments from Moel Hiraddug) Several elements, shield boss (fragments from Moel Hiraddug, Grimthorpe shield) Cross shaped shield boss (Thames Fulham shield boss) For non decorated shield bosses: Helmets for the Britons units: The Canterbury helmet, bronze, (70 - 0 BC) ï»ż: The Meyrick helmet, bronze, (AD 50 - 100): Aylesford bucket (50 BC), hero helmet. The Waterloo helmet (150-50 BC), hero helmet. Here the miniatures votive shields found at Salisbury:1 point

That would indeed work nicely for Carthage. I think it should sit more naturally on his head though.1 point

We could definitely use the torcs, it looks visible on shirtless units These references could provide more visibility and variety. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Torques_de_Burela._Museo_Provincial_de_Lugo.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gold_torque_2.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Linz_Schlossmuseum_-_Uttendorf_Halsreifen.jpg1 point

If I remember correctly the torq was used to denote a married man by quite a few Celtic tribes mostly the warrior class at that. Enjoy the Choice1 point

Celtic Noblemen Reworked the chainmail textures. Completed the Kirkburn Chain Mail. Added torque and other accessories. Together with @Alexandermbs new helmets. Should we commit this together with the updated Celtic woman textures? @Genava55@stanislas69@LordGood Also adding the cape textures for final review. (Middle row)1 point

Sinhalese civilization draft (first part): Anuradhapura Kingdom (also known as Rajarata Kingdom): Possible Kings/Heroes: - Early Anuradhapura Kingdom (0ad empires ascendant timeline): Historical sources are debatable, because the main source of documentation is the "Mahavamsa" a semi-historical chronicle of the early kings deeds, written by buddhist monks, with some mythical elements mixed into it...There are still some unquestionable facts, such as the very existence of the kings, and their conquests and military feats, which have been historically established. + Devanampiya Tissa (307 BC - 267 BC): introduced Buddhism in his kingdom through establishing a diplomatic relationship with Mauryan Emperor Ashoka, from which he supposedly received a seed from the Sacred tree where the Buddha attained enlightenment, and Ashoka's own son Mahinda which became the founder of the first Sangha (buddhist monk community) on the Island. + Dutugamunu (161 BC - 137 BC): Defeated King Elara, an usurping Tamil prince from the Chola Dynasty who conquered the throne of Anuradhapura in 205 BC. He allegedly had under his command legendary warriors: "ten giant warriors": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Giant_Warriors + Valagamba (103 BC and 89-77 BCE): He defeated tamil invaders, after 14 years of occupation from the latters, and built the Abhayagiri Dagoba (Stupa) Other important kings (later period): + Gajabahu I (114 AD - 136 AD): Very devout king, invaded tamil lands to save his captured soldiers. + Dhatusena ( 455 AD - 473 AD): repulsed numerous indian invasions, and established the first navy. He increased the water distribution capacity by building eighteen irrigation tanks. Also famous for having being murdered by his own son: + Kashyapa I "the patricide" , or "the mad king" (473 AD - 495 AD) who would finally been slain by his brother Moggallana, true heir to the throne, after an epic battle. During his reign, the capital city was moved from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya ("The Tooth rock"), an impregnable fortress where he felt safe (that didn't save him though):1 point
