I remember reading that Thebes did have an old cyclopean citadel. Not literally built by cyclops, just the style of masonry popular in the bronze age consisting of those massive rough stones3 points

That is a Roman temple, careful with those pseudoperipteral columns, they are a dead giveaway of Roman architecture, rather than Greek3 points

Cause this game it's heavily influencid by Age of Empires series, and mostly in all games the priests are the healing units.2 points

Btw I don't see how buildings are graven image. Maybe your quote has a different meaning in my language but it mostly means you won't make statues representing deities. So the structure itself has nothing to do with it. Now consider you have a representation of Jesus in nearly every church and that Saints are worshipped too that sounds a lot like an exception to the rule in real life. Egyptian didn't turn the monuments in Egypt to pieces when most of the population became Muslim either. So I don't see why in a fictional game based on a fictional time period using some historical claims it would cause an issue. But feel free to prove me wrong.2 points

Unless you can find us some examples otherwise. I'm not sure I'm understanding you entirely. Do you mean you want to exclude all mention pagan temples and religion because they're not compatible with Abrahamic faiths? Because if that's the case, absolutely not.2 points

Well, if having virtual people create virtual temples is an issue, wouldn't causing virtual people to die be against "Thou shalt not kill"?2 points

I fail to see how having temples can "hurt the feelings of believers". If you are please enlighten us on why.2 points

A22 includes NAT traversal feature (technical details are here: #2305 (UDP Hole Punching / NAT Traversal) ), which should allow to host a significantly larger amount of players (with some network configuration it would be still impossible to host though). It worked fine during the development tests and I can't wait to see the results of wider usage after the release. In further versions we can add more diagnostic information to have more details when it works and when it doesn't and hopefully made further improvements.2 points

@av93 parts of the pathfinder (unitmotion) are getting rewritten. But the patch (D13) needs a lot of side changes that all first need to be committed beforehand. Some of those patches are good some made bugs in our current code appear and some induce regressions. Leper and Itms reviewed some of wraitiis patches but there's quite a way to go. For further info refer to the names I quoted.2 points

Is any of the religions depicted in the game still worshipped? I think not.1 point

We are making a historically based game doing what you suggest is not historical at all it is creating a fantasy to placate a minority view of the world. Enjoy the Choice1 point

Your proposal is based on a set of biblical laws, yet i still fail to see why there is any relationship between that and any of the factions included in the game, and quoting vladislavbelov Perhaps you could explain yourself much better with clear arguments and not quoting a biblical law as an explanation, many will fail to interpret it in your way.1 point

I was thinking the Spartan's architecture could stray closer to early classical and use a warmer color stone1 point

Hi @Pyrophorus! Nice to have you here! Good idea to leave the mountains be mountains and place other textures and trees mainly in the flat areas (https://wildfiregames.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2017_06/landscape-5.png.716bfd128983f800e8d4764c4950f8e7.png) In the other image I see you also paint cliffs differently. Very nice! (https://wildfiregames.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2017_06/landscape-6.png.07adebcd8324f282e308726057ec7396.png) Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your progress with us1 point

@ArcaneExodus Network support has improved as the game now has a better way to go around firewalls. @fcxSanya or @elexis could probably be more specific. About formations work is being done to make them easier to fix. About the infinite resource stuff it's sounds more like a game mode to me. So not planned but could be done by motivated modders if you can find some1 point

@wowgetoffyourcellphone What about the length of the Hellenistic tunics? Did the tunics remained short during that period? (m_tunic_short vs m_tunic_long mesh) If the tunics were still short, then I will have to re-adjust the textures of the Diadochi Greek settlers1 point

Hi all ! Looks better with some terrain painting and forests... thanks to the rendering engine and 0.A.D artists ! The script is far from complete and perfect for now (my first Javascript program !). That's why I don't give it, but I hope I'll can share rather soon a little library for use along with rmgen. Friendly,1 point

Hi all ! Not sure I should create a thread for such a little thing... In the script below, you'll find a function which creates heightmaps, an alternative to diamonds square method. Smoothing is integrated in the function, and is scale based, not uniformly applied on all tiles. Maybe this could profit to someone. More of it, you can reapply the function on parts of the map (with different parameters of course). In landscape-3, a rough mountain is surrounded with softier terrain. Don't tell me painting and starting placement are really poor. Yeah, I know... I haven't yet fully scavenged FeXor great work, but I will soon ! aFractalDemo.zip1 point
