Hi guys. So, I made the new Glory resource for DE. It's used to train heroes, research special technologies, and build wonders (which unlock the Empire Phase). Get Glory by killing enemy units and by building Cult Statues. The coolest thing is that the cost for each Cult Statue increases by 25% for each one you build. Each new Cult Statue is more expensive than the last one! Athenians: Athena (bronze on marble pedestal) Britons: Maybe they build rune stones? The cheapest of the "Cult Statues", but give the least Glory trickle. Carthaginians: Ateban Mausoleum. Is 2x more expensive, but has 2x health and gives a stronger Glory trickle. Epirotes: Zeus. Gauls: Wooden god statue, not sure which one(s). Taranis, Epona? Han Chinese: Golden Bixby statues Iberians: Repurpose the Revered Monument, but also give the attack aura like current. Macedonians: Apollo (sun god epithet) Mauryans: Small Stupas. References: 1, 2, 3 Persians: Large Lamassu Ptolemies: Serapis; Isis. Two variations of the same structure. Romans (Republican): Jupiter, throwing bolt Romans (Principates): Colossus statue. Scythians: Wooden Horse with giant antlers. Seleucids: Apollo (archer epithet) Spartans: Leonidas statue, or Apollo. Suebians: A large totem with antler. Thebans: Herakles or Theban Sphinx.2 points

Twelve multi-scenario campaigns is probably beyond what's possible, but on the other hand 0 A.D. "should be impossible" as a whole so who knows To begin with we'll aim for creating the frame-work and try and see how many people we can get involved in creating the campaigns. I would assume that the most likely way to do things would be to have say a handful of storylines that would include several of the factions in each campaign. Say a Punic wars campaign which could include at least Carthaginians and Romans, but I would say Iberians as well. Or something based on Alexander's rise to power (and the aftermath) which would include most/all of the Hellenistic Civilizations, Persia, and India. And possibly one featuring Caesar to include the Celtic ones. Unless we come up with a way to make both sides playable (i.e. so you could play the same scenarios from both perspectives) that would of course mean that some civs would not be played (unless you would "play as the enemy" in some scenarios), so I guess it would take a few more if you would like to have campaigns where all factions are played at least once. But apart from designing it well it's mostly a matter of manpower, so we'll have to see what is possible2 points

The proportions of the men are way off. Not realistic. Heads are big. The hands are big. Proportions of things. Look at reference for people, places, things, and animals was you are painting to get them right. Don't sketch from memory. Use good references. Details are broad and sketchy, look incomplete, lack polish. things like this is what I mean by cartoony.2 points

@Tomcelmare This is a visual upgrade that would change the look of the CC once the 'hellenistic metropolis' technology is researched at the library, which makes civic centers powerful defensive buildings, not unlike the 'citadel' god power for the Egyptians in AoM. this isn't strictly a replacement for the old CC, and I'm not planning on replacing the Greek civic centers, IMO many CCs are too large and will have to fall on a spectrum of village-> city sizes if we decide to have visual upgrading for civic centers2 points

No activity in one month, no model was attached, we have some screenshots of what he was working on, but sadly nothing on our hands. I'd like to see Julián's take on the siege workshop and have Ketu's as variation if he comes back and finishes it.1 point

Hey Julián! welcome to the community!! Nice to see another spanish member hehe. Quite impresive résumé!! Lots of good stuff there. From your portfolio I'll suggest you starting with sketching the macedonian siege workshop. We're currently using a placeholder structure and we need a good concept for the siege workshop building. After you get a good concept you can move to the modelling as you see fit. The textures are already done (each civilization uses a shared set of textures (normally one or two 1024* maps) so you just have to worry about making a good concept and the model. Feel free to take inspiration from AOE series (as you can see 0AD has several traits of AOE since it started as a mod once upon a time) and also feel free to post any work in progress to get feedback from the team and the community. There are many members who are more versed historically than me for accuracy If you haven't already, please check the Atlas Editor (map editor of the game) where you can find all the art assets ingame if you want to check closely the macedonian building set to get also the current art direction of the civilization. You can also check the type of units that would be created in that building, so you can make the concept accordingly (siege lithobolos, siege oxybeles, siege ram) Feel free to ask any questions you may have along the way as well as to request help with research or references here in the forums. Regarding the models/3D stuff I can help you out with how the 0AD engine works and suggestions. About 3D packages I can only help with Blender3D as is my expertise area. Have fun here! looking forward to your contributions!1 point

3. Buildings/Bulding range From my point of view, Building range "Controlled Area" and map size are both related and have a common solution: Upgrade OAD to add provinces and a more elaborated diplomacy. There could be a big capital city protected with stone walls and surrounded by unprotected small villages joined to it through paths as a province. There could then be some provinces and one of the capital cities being as the capital of the tribes confederation, kingdom or empire depending on it's political system. The whole of the provinces would determine the "Controlled Area" of a faction. Boundaries between provinces could be automatically drawn using geographical accidents like rivers, forests, seas or mountains or been drawn y the user giving a name to each province, and a provinces manager map would then be necessary. to move to one province to another. This would lead to an improve in the diplomacy between factions. In the peace times, and so far you don't declare war or some faction declares war to you, you would be able to improve your civilization, commerce, armies, strategies, alliances, etc.. beyond the maximun of 60 min. you can leave without being disturbed by the enemy. May instead of a bunch of warriors thrown to the walls and buildings of other factions, organized armies instead of units (50, 100 or 150.. warriors per unit) could invade nearby opponent provinces, attack cities or meet with other organized armies in some playground scenario where they can deploy and use their best tactics. Capture of the capital city would lead to a phase of pre-annexation. State of the provinces could be: Former province: can have as many cities TC and small villages as terrain if the province allows it. One city at least. One city at least needs to be the capital of the province or the empire. Colony: on neutral territory establishing a TC an claiming a nearby territory as new province until some time or resources production or buildings build are reached and becomes a former province. Pre-annexation: all cities in the province have being captured by the enemy and a peace agreement has NOT being signed acknowledging the loss of the province and it's former cession to the enemy. New resources coming from that province would be cut-off and pass to the enemy instead. Annexation: all cities in the province have being captured by the enemy and a peace agreement has being signed acknowledging the loss of the province and it's former cession to the enemy. During a period of time, occupation troops will have to stay in every city and buildings build in order to weak resistance of the population to foreign domination. Finally if not reconquered it will become a former province or colony of the occupant. I know, it sounds like big changes in the game rules. It is just an idea but it would lead to a more, wise, mature and reflexible strategy game. In any case, It could just be a mod.1 point

First of all, port-forwarding is needed to host games, you should be able to connect to other player games without any extra configuration. When you're hosting a game, it expects incoming connections on the corresponding device (your PC), but they actually come to your networking device (phone modem or whatever do you have), port-forwarding tells the networking device to 'forward' requests from a specific port on the networking device to a specific port on the device where you expect them. You need to check your PC LAN IP via ipconfig / ifconfig (depending on the operating system). And forward UDP port 20595 to it. P.S.: second time in the day Stan was faster answering a network-related question but I'm posting my reply this time, since it contains some additional details.1 point

0ad is larger than 27mb. Those are only the source (which aren't the issue as we can see) but the missing 0ad-data packet or similar that contains the public.zip.1 point

Hello @imthepokerface Did you by any chance delete the public.zip ? The window you are seeing is the mod selector, and there is no mod installed. Easiest solution would be to reinstall the game. Welcome to the forums !1 point

I hope I didn't sound too harsh, Lordgood. I usually like pretty much everything you do, but I just don't like this menu. I understand that giving an opinion as a player is always simple, but working on the game and trying to improve its content is another thing...I think wowgetoffyourcellphone has explained really well what I meant, so this should give you new directions of improvement1 point

Make the current Ptol CC the upgrade actor and make a newer less fancy model for the un-upgraded actor.1 point

In my opinion, yes, though I don't have much experience with UI elements apart from PA. Another opinion would be welcome, but if not, well, I'll commit it anyway1 point

Very nice, could we see it in game to make sure nothing important gets cut off?1 point

This doesn't tell me anything, Justus labels things as cartoony as well, but I need elaboration if I'm going to be able to take any action on it. 'Cartoony' just invokes frustration if specifics aren't pointed out.1 point

I preferred the old menu background. More static, but more epic. This one is interesting but too cartoonesque for my taste...Maybe it reminds me too much of the pony mod menu...1 point

From a convenience perspective and just streamlining operations, I think moving to one account makes total sense. I had a few questions but looks like Erik and Aviv both of covered it. With a project of this scale and being spread out in different time zones and jurisdictions, I think having one single source of monetary transactions makes total sense and I fully endorse the idea1 point
