  2. Made Mauryan Maiden Archer can transform between Fire archer or Sword and back again. So, 3 modes for the Maiden Guard. It's pretty cool. Would work even better if we had battalion feature.

  4. Hello, First I would like to say that this game is the best RTS game I have ever played and I can assure you than I have been playing video games for so long. I have played AOE since 1999 and I am still enjoying RTS games. The game-play is fun and simple. Yet, after few games versus IA, I got bored and started playing versus real players in multiplayer. And everything went downhill, no matchmaking system, people leave the game when they want, someone must host the game and if he leaves the game will be lost, if anyone has lag everybody will suffer... So many factors made the multiplayer mode viable only versus trusted opponent which isn't easy to have. I am guessing that it is hard to solve these problems since the game is free to play and having a game server would probably be costly, but I really wanted to share this feedback. Anyways, thank you for this game, I know this is a free game and players shouldn't be asking for stuff like if they were ungrateful. I really wish to see 0AD with weekly updates and a viable ranked system. Thanks anyways sofianosss

  5. You guys got it wrong, actually. I am use the 'Upgrade' feature that has been implemented in official game. The difference in DE is that I am exploring the possibilities of the feature while the team focus on other things. This is the same feature that I use in DE to allow player to upgrade individual Wooden defense tower to Stone defense tower (for 100 stone and 30 sec). It's the same feature that let player make his elephants go berserk. Also, I use the same feature in DE to let the player upgrade his Hypaspists to Silver Shields, and his Macedonian Barracks to Royal Barracks. With the Maiden Archers I explored the possibilities and made it possible to manual switch back and forth between types of weapons. It is the same feature as the towers, elephants, hypaspists, etc., but looped so the player can make the unit "upgrade" back to what it was before (in this case, back to archer from swordsman or back to regular arrows from fire arrows). Honestly guys, looking at #252, I feel like disappointment will be mine when secondary attack implemented. And without battalion system, things are going to get messy and clicky.

  8. A dedicated server for 0AD would require nearly no resources, so it won't be a cost issue if implemented imho.

  9. 3 hps is a bit slow, will probably go up to 5. I am do not think that you can make something "decay loyalty" but also make it uncapturable. If something have capture points then it is automatically capturable I think.

  10. Don't know if playing with decay component (and giving them a huge decay rate), thus making elephant gaia, and giving them animal AI could work? Just crazy suggestion

  11. Berserker Elephants! Use upgrade feature to promote an elephant to berserker mode. Use this feature as a quick terror weapon to destroy and kill a lot of things in a short amount of time, but in the process you will likely lose the elephant. Upgrade automatically available in Empire Phase. Put one elephant in berserker mode or a bunch of them at once. Attack +150% Speed +25% Elephant trample aura increased Health decays by 3 hps, so the elephant will die Cannot be healed by priests when berserker Elephant cannot be rescued from this mode once it has gone berserker, you will lose the elephant (but it will cause a lot of damage to the enemy)

  13. Its too highpoly for pyrogenesis (so requires some modifying, which damages the quality) and doesn't have a texture, and with proper scale should be much larger than anything else. But I did a picture with low-polyfied-uglified-textureless-scaled-down-version Thanks for the idea/link in any case

  16. We always do that before a release, we can't have unfinished tickets for a release and not all things are possible to finish (or important enough to delay the release for). Tickets which are up for review are put on the upcoming Alpha until just before a release, then they are moved on to the next release or put on backlog.

  19. Hi everyone, recently i have applied for the post of a scenario designer for 0 A.D. I'm not quite sure yet if the developers will take me, but it sounded not too unpromising. Since the game is not in the state yet to start working on campaigns, i am currently making plans for campaigns. I open this thread for me to present you my ideas and for you to post your own ideas, suggestions etc. General: I suggest three major campaigns plus one tutorial campaign where you learn the basics of the game. Each of the major campaigns will have a decent size, at the moment i figured 12 scenarios for each. The campaigns increase in difficulty the later they are dated. The ambition is to include every faction of the game in the three campaigns, as a player culture or as allies and foes. Tutorial - The Rise of Athens Period: ~800 - 480 B.C. Civ: Hellenic/Poleis Overview: The player learns the basics of the game while he is building up the great city of Athens from its beginnig in Greek's dark age to the time of the Persian Wars. --- Campaign 1 - Alexander The Great Period: 338 - 323 B.C. Civ: Hellenic/Macedonian Overview: Follow Alexander on his quest to conquer the Persian Empire ... and beyond. --- Campaign 2 - The Punic Wars Period: 264 - 201 B.C. Civ: Roman Overview: Covers the first and the second Punic War on the Roman side. --- Campaign 3 - The Queen of Britain Period: 60 - 61 A.D. Civ: Celtic/Britons Overview: The uprising of the Britain Celts against Rome under Boadicea (Boudicca). Presumably with a "happy ending", which means eventual victory, though historically the uprising was crushed. --- These are my ideas, i have worked out the first campaign (Alexander) quite far. Now, what are your ideas? What do you want to see in a campaign for 0 A.D.? Maybe something completely different? Greetings, SMST
