gameboy
When Death encountered a Bug. When the ship destroys an enemy on the shore, the enemy dies on the surface, his body disappears, his blood remains on the surface, but a transparent square is formed around it. Gurken Khan
Sheeesh. THE BUG IS REPORTED. Why do you always have to bug the devs? 1
gameboy
This bug does persist in version 26 in development, maybe I shouldn't use maps with oceans in them, hehe. Edited April 17, 2022 by gameboy
gameboy
@vladislavbelov The problem should be that the state map is missing after the object dies, maybe the developer can supplement these state maps. Cancel the real water depth option, this problem still exists. Edited April 18, 2022 by gameboy
gameboy
@Langbart @Stan` @vladislavbelov turned off all the water effects, but the problem was still the same. This also happens when a fishing boat dies, with the surface forming a square, but not when a warship dies. gameboy
This problem happens in all factions, this problem happens when fishing boats die, all sea creatures die, including whales, sharks.

vladislavbelov
I have ideas how to fix the issue, but I need to finish GL stuff first.
gameboy
@vladislavbelov If you can provide the patch test first, I will help you test it. Please help us, the problem of GL may be a problem that requires a lot of time for you. But this problem may be a small one. Could you please help us provide a patch to solve this problem? Please help us. Thanks again.
Mercury
Hello, this is my first post here. I have been poking around in the relevant bits of code. Have not found a fix yet. I did find out however that this bug is not specific to water units but rather to units which die in the water and have blood. I saw the same behavior by killing infantry and cavalry on the beach at the surf line in Corinthian Isthmus. https://imgur.com/a/rbzfMwF I did not see the behavior killing a battering ram. In a25 blood is drawn under the water for land units. No blood that I can see for whales / fishing boats etc. In a26 blood is drawn at the water level height, this seems to be the origin of the regression. One problem I am having is understanding the conventions of the C++ side. Can anyone tell me how to find where AddEntity is defined? I tried interacting with Engine.AddEntity through the in game console. Engine exists in that environment but AddEntity does not. Any solutions? Hopefully these notes help point someone in the right direction.

Actually I have already spotted this issue with dead whales as well. I'm sure the developers are already on it, please have some patience. Meanwhile, I will look at the actor files and check if something is wrong with the death animations.

Nothing is it's a material bug. Was revealed by @vladislavbelov's refactorings. Before no blood was visible at all.
