I want put clear this.

As was say a Retired Staff team user:

The game is historically acurate, not realistic. No RTS game is realistic. Eitherway our goal is to create a fun game, not "Extreme Roman Army and Civilization Manager Deluxe"

what?

I was answering a question...

Hmm, isn't it similar to the tactic employed by the Athenians at Marathon, nearly 300 years earlier?

Don't worry a understand. I say because exist post about that you are suggesting, even a suggest that before. This tread is more for do more quick suggestion. In this topic can be lost easily.

Some time ago a topic about alternate gameplay was pinned I forum but isn't anymore.

I am one person sharing an idea...I cant change the game nor do I want to change it if people don't want to use my suggestions.

Not, when you have a year you know this topic have much information and all post about manny suggestion. Don't take personal :) is a suggestion from an another user,you can do it here but, don't expect all want discuss about the same here, somebody can post about commands, someone el se can post about Ai gameplay, etc. probably this topic it's more general,or generic discussion.

Yes this thread is mostly a catch bucket for ideas they are usually discussed/debated in a separate thread dedicated to just one idea so that they do not become lost in the noise,after all this thread currently has 119 pages to it so maybe it may well have an other 100 or so next year with this discussion buried in the fog of time will any of us remember it exists.As an aside the forum is the history of our community our collective memory.

Is there any chance that we someday see a Archery-Range and Siege-Workshop for some factions.

I think that is something that sould be in any type of Ancient RTS.

And i think farm field sould not be build but they sould get a seed throwing animation

Its can be possibly, but in which faction you wants to see the se buildings?.

in the second punic wr carthage controls a huge part of iberian peninsula, we can put a technology that unlocks the function on train iberian mercenaries at barracks

*Notes:

* i think that this technology would be the only millitarry technology avaible for village phase

* The Celt and Samnite mercenaries gonne be unmodificated, we don't mod it

i thought the Carthaginians already had some Iberian units? at the very least, i distinctly remember them having Balearic Slingers

yeah, but the technology means that some iberian units should be trained at normal barracks, as the unlock champion units, a technology for "unlock iberians at barracks" the technology gonna be the only military technology avaible on village phase

The Celts "Gauls and Britons" need a bonus and an antibonus:

The celtic army were true anarchy in open terrain is very very very very weak "4 hack, 6 pierce?" but in forests are very very very powerful "14 hack 24 pierce?" i think that we can put it:

* britons "mos affected by this un/bonus":

spearman: 4 h, 6p "Basic", 8h 10p "Advanced", 12 h 13p "elite" "open terrain"

spearman: 9 h, 11p "Basic", 13h 15p "Advanced", 17 h 23p "elite" "forest"

champion infantry: 15 h 24 p "Open terrain"

25 h 40 p "forest"

now the gauls

spearman: 6 h, 8p "Basic", 10h 12p "Advanced", 14 h 18p "elite" "open terrain"

spearman: 8 h, 9p "Basic", 11h 13p "Advanced", 12 h 15p "elite" "forest"

champion infantry: 19 h 28 p "Open terrain"

22 h 30 p "forest"

conventions:

h = hack

p = piearce

*explanation:

* the britons had more anarchy on the army that explains why are more affected on my bonus, the gauls were more advanced on technology and more disciplinated, that explains that my bonus is moderated with gauls

My SVN feedback, why we split escort ( follow) and ( guard/protect) if you put to follow a unit like priest only heal to followed unit.

Same with other, is good when you can protect only one, but when you want to protect a group or convoy or commandos attack.

With town bell, works well but why females enter in towers? Waste my defense power.is some little lag al start and when I zoom close or move around water.

So for know I will work in icons with blender, may be other can work over then and converting into drawing icons.

I think it would be better for citizen soldiers to build (and possibly man) siege weapons on-site like in Empires DMW's chinese faction, or the better of the Stronghold series.

I like how stronghold handled the use of siege weaponry. Weapons were useless without engineers manning them. Its always a pain when your army's too big to build siege when you run into something like a Carthaginian wall.
