Why terra magna is Ascendants exclusive?

They are not exclusive it's just that all the civilisations currently in it follow that time frame.

I'm still considering including some of the terra_magna factions into the game. And I'm still wanting to make part II a reality. so here what I propose. I'm gonna create a mod called empires_besieged on 0 A.D. mods. In that we can put all the part II models animations and whatnot. This is gonna be part II. We need more modders though to make it really interesting.

Currently in empires besieged will be

  • Imperial Romans
  • Huns,
  • Suebi
  • ...

How does that sound?

Better i want realize the dream of @Obskiuras he wants that faction in the game (at last with classic gamestyle)

Can't promise that. One of my goal is to split Pyrogenesis From 0 A.D. so that people can play whatever mod they'd like with Empires Ascendant and Empires Besieged being the two "Official Mods"

Double_shot_repeating_crossbow.gif

Quote

Archaeological evidence of the existence of repeating crossbows in China has been discovered dating back as far as the 4th century BC.

The design for the Chu-ko-nu was improved upon by a famous military advisor named Zhuge Liang (181 – 234 AD), who even made a version that could fire up to three bolts at once. Other ‘rapid-fire’ versions could fire 10 bolts in quick succession.

Though less accurate than single-shot crossbows and with less range than longbows, the repeating crossbow had an amazing rate of fire for an ancient weapon. It saw use until as late as the Sino-Japanese war of 1894 – 1895.

hi, I saw on the mods page that you were accepting help, is it still the case? were do we have to apply? what are you working on right now?

We would be glad if you can help us in e.g. when you look at readme under contributing https://github.com/0ADMods/terra_magna  but keep in mind that  rather make artistic contributions in separate threads for civilisations https://github.com/0ADMods/han_china  https://github.com/0ADMods/yayoi_japan https://github.com/0ADMods/xiongnu https://github.com/0ADMods/illyrians https://github.com/0ADMods/thracians

Regarding the continuity of the distribution of civilizations, the Asian factions should be enriched, such as adding Parthia and Kushan, because they are the hub connecting Mesopotamia, Turan, India, China, and now directly from the Mediterranean countries to the Pacific Ocean Coastal countries, the span is too large. Existing games feel like Han and Xiongnu are more of a "mysterious and exotic land from afar," as does Zapotec.

Parthia and Kushan

I agree. but they are more focus in 500 BC - 100 BC, because Roman republic(middle Roman republic) before Caesar.

just after the Syrian-Roman wars with Antiochus III.

they say that Parthia is better for 1-500 A.D.

Chinese people generally do not take the first year of AD as a dividing point to cut history. We are more concerned about how to choose a time point for "great powers coexisting side by side". Parthia, the Roman Republic, and Seleucid coexisted at the same time as Han and Xiongnu. , which is sufficient.

am going to ask the team again.
why did we divide the game into 2 parts?

Probably because they didn't expect it to take that much time. Also to better represent factions not to miw too much evolutions. But as I said to someone we can work on part 2 civ now. I just have no one to do it.

可能是因为他们没想到会花那么多时间。 也是为了更好地代表派系,不要过多的演变。 但正如我对某人所说,我们现在可以在第 2 部分工作。 我只是没有人去做。

In a sense, when the game has Persian, Seleucus, and Ptolemy appearing at the same time, the era division has been broken.

Not if you consider -500 B.C. -1 B.C. as one timeframe. Anyway it's all pointless now. I'd be glad to have the civs for 0 A.D: Empires Besieged
