  1. They should swim or die, depending on where they are.
  2. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/phoenicians-bible-archaeology-canaanites I'm going to contribute with a little bit of "something extra".
  3. I left the source above, but only look for the images that wow said it wanted. The rest are just my comments are based on what I know about Near Eastern cultures.
  4. They were originally iconoclasts. They did not like to worship images. This is similar to the ark of the covenant; the ark is supposed to be the throne of Yahweh, but for them this altar was where their invisible god was. "Altars were also sometimes used as a representation of the gods. There is little evidence of Nabataean iconoclasm. Most of the deities were portrayed as betyls, sometimes carved in relief and others carried during processions."
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nabataean_religion They also worshipped Baalshamin. They are Semites and are related to the Idumeans, Israelites, and Judeans. It has its own gods. They have their sacred monuments. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baetyl
  6. Okay, maybe we don't just have to make the emblem, we also have to make the banners and the flags, sails... The icon of unexplored map. I found my original idea. It appears to be one of those eyes that remove or prevent the so-called evil eye.
  7. I was referring to the forum and a certain person. Lol. I am making symbols. I want it to be not only in DE, I want a version for vanilla and for that I'm working with Lopess. I have 3 proposals. The Eagle of Palmyra. Baalshamin, god of the sky. And finally, a Palmyrene shield. All of these as a proposal for an emblem.
  8. I offered Lopess my help. But for now I'd prefer a faction from the 3rd century AD, Palmyra. Another would be the Antigonid Empire/Kingdom. Include more Italic kingdoms... and more eastern Celts. Also kingdoms of the Black Sea and Anatolia.
  9. Paradox's Europe Universalis: Rome - Vae Victis. Rome Total War : mod Extended cultures V. Medieval TW II mod : Bello Mundi 1.0
  10. Do you think they can start from scratch if they begin with a more modern engine?
  11. I'm so excited to see this. Can more regions be added?
  12. The mystery cult of Mithras. That's how cults like these came about through pirates and sailors. According to ancient historians such as Plutarch, the Cilician pirates captured by Pompey in the eastern Mediterranean in the 1st century BC already practiced rituals related to Mithras and introduced them into areas of Italy.
  13. A year ago I made a rather poorly done emblem for this faction. I'll look for it.
  14. For now, it can be used to make quick corrections. The drawing is still mine, but I save myself the trouble of fixing the symmetry and other details. ---Baalshamin is coming---
  15. Imagine if people came along and did a complete overhaul of 0 AD to adapt it to the type of battles we've seen in Total War. The big problem would be the strategic scenario.
  16. Lack of volunteers and manpower. If people of our generation dedicated themselves more to creating than consuming, we would have more people volunteering.
  17. https://www.oriental-studies.org.ua/en/smirnou-syncretism-in-the-religious-life-of-ancient-palmyra-in-the-3rd-century-сe/ I'm going to leave this here and let you know that I'm working together with other developers in Palmira. I am working on the symbology of Palmyra and it is complicated to choose symbols for a very syncretic city. It's impressive, but there aren't many images or details online about this faction. Apart from sculptures and other objects, there aren't many clear images from the 3rd century. There is very little art from that period; the original gods of Palmyra are almost entirely unrepresented. It's interesting that they had an anonymous god just like the Athenians. They had Bel and Baalshamin, two gods from different triads. Baalshamin is similar to Canaanite Baalshamin but more advanced and does not share a monotheism like Yahweh, it is a syncretism between Baal and the god El. He has armor, which indicates that he is a warrior god.(similar to Semitic gods in armor fighting in the skies). I am developing a new eagle, I don't know if as an emblem or as another symbol. Baalshamin is probably a kind of Semitic Zeus; he appears alongside eagles as a symbol. Being an economically Semitic civilization, the gateway to the Silk Road, it is a city of trade and many foreigners with their gods. This city and its civilization should be in the game. It's unique, a cultural mix of things. Visually, they can be unique. This god is represented in what some call the anti-classical style. All that we see represented in late art, the lack of realism and naturalness in favor of facial expressions. https://pressbooks.bccampus.ca/cavestocathedrals/chapter/late-empire/ This will also be useful later on.
  18. One month has passed and what progress has been made? ...nothing..
  19. There was a variant called musical chairs. This system eliminated 1 by 1 (low score) until only one remained standing. https://riseofnations.fandom.com/wiki/Musical_Chairs
  20. 0 AD is mentioned as a model of inspiration and emancipation of software. Inspiration for an Opensource Total War.
  21. Don't make assumptions I didn't make. I even clearly stated that I did it with AI.You must assume that it is not 100% because if you correct one part of the drawing, it will ruin another.
