  1. Better, although we don't have a civ in the game representing them. If the Han are included in a26 (which I guess they will) then I'd vote for a term relating to them. (The Han could also be politicized in current contexts.)
  2. Definitely not 'Zelensky'. No relation to 0AD's time period.
  3. I thought some of you might be interested in exchanging archaeological news even if they are not closely connected to 'our' civs. So today I start with King Tut's 'space dagger': https://nypost.com/2022/02/24/archaeologists-say-theyve-finally-solved-the-mystery-surrounding-king-tuts-space-dagger/ It's believed this dagger was made from meteoroid iron in the 14th century BCE and was a gift from the king of Mitanni to Amenhotep III.
  4. @EmaczYou should really attach the crashlog.txt and crashlog.dmp files. (Wild guess: you're on a Windows laptop and some automated update changed your settings to the wrong GPU.)
  5. Oh, sweet innocence! Let's just say you'd need to host such a server in a very, very unregulated part of the world.
  6. I might be missing sth, but how is this a solution to smurfing? If someone doesn't want to show their rating, why would they show these patches?
  7. Because of the environment one can't reach them, but one can't even select them and I don't think they're destructible.
  8. While I'm not against the possibility to donate units or buildings to a team mate, I just wanted to point out that it is possible to build for team mates: they just have to put down a foundation; since you can also give them the required materials it's not too far from donating them a building. Maybe more a context menu thing? 'Donate selected units/ structures to...'. Not sure how one would select stuff to donate from diplomacy options.
  9. What about the name? If the building is not for practice but for production maybe something like Ranged Barrack would be better?
  10. What one could do is different from this case, where the AI can't solve the situation and is supposedly stuck forever. Would hate it if it were my ally wasting time indefinitely.
  11. Huh. I guess you are serious about this, contrary to what I expected reading the title. First of all, I don't think this would be a good idea. I understand we don't suffer from a too large player base, so I wouldn't want to put up too many hurdles for potential newbies. Personally, if I wanted to check out the online multiplayer part of a game and was presented with an ~hour long exam to enter I might say 'What is this $#!t ?' and leave right away. I'm not necessarily convinced saying a n00b is 'not ready' is a good approach; if they play poorly, they will get handed their butt swiftly, but anyone serious about playing strategic games against others will learn from that and improve. As for smurfs, I think people will just have to live with it. A welcome message in the lobby could tell ppl that ratings might not be accurate and remind everyone to be kind; seems to me that one or two additional active mods would do more for a good experience than any technical approach. However, should the swarm intelligence decide to go with this exam, I guess something like a lake map, populated with three medium AIs showing the behavior you suggested, would do fine; as you want to include all kind of things into the score ceiling or floor effects shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  12. I suggest to not link the accounts to commercial companies which collect and sell personal information.
  13. @Karmo When you (save and) exit the game you can check if the enemy actually has any units left. You could change the victory conditions as @Freagarach suggested, but if you want to stick with the "kill'em all!" approach, here are a few hints: the last resort of the AI is usually trying to build a dock (no own territory needed); check the coasts, rivers, puddles... outside your territory if (female) workers have no dropsite left, they'll usually just stand around where they were last collecting resources; see if you can spot working sites and look around there a lonely woman standing around in a forest or at the edge of the map is easy to miss; send aggressive cav with attack-move to different directions HTH. If you encounter another game you feel should have ended maybe upload a save here.
  14. So that should be the lesson for everyone: don't get people into 0AD that you're sharing IPs with.
  15. @Grapjas1. This thread is odd, because it behaves unlike any other thread; clicking on a specific post should work regardless of settings. 2. I changed a setting anyway and it seems to work!
  16. I'm a bit torn. I like to deal the killing blow, but ofc it's frustrating when I have to search for that ~one woman too long. So maybe add a timer, like 1 min?
  17. @alre: In case you weren't joking: I meant the machines you actually have at your place.
  18. @maroder Wasn't the infinite relics bug removed with the winter fix? I thought the Brit's vid was meh anyway, but after he wasn't done with the relics bug at minute 8 I couldn't just bear it anymore. (Especially since he made such a big deal of it with a premiere...) I read about ideas of making washing machines a service; so you don't just own it but pay for each use.
  19. Or they're shooting at fields. Wouldn't want them to do either when there's hostiles around.
  20. When you double click on the hero icon in the top left it will be selected and the cam centers on it.
  21. @Thales The women's aura has been removed, it shouldn't be in the description anymore. @Stan` Women have a minor combat capability, for example it's quite common to see them take down rams that threaten the CC. You can double their HP by researching The Loom at a house. But you shouldn't really use women as fighting troops.
  22. This thread never takes me to the post I click on but always a page before that. Wonder why. @Stan`?
