  1. You'd rather have an expensive technology than just build a few more houses? I must admit, I don't really understand the occupation with housing.
  2. It's only a few civs that have small houses. And as far as I'm aware a lot of players consider it to be economically beneficial.
  3. I still don't know what vulkan is, and who it's for. Immediately after starting this version, I noticed the screen is flickering intermittently.
  4. I don't know if someone had fat fingers when they assembled the color bars for the players, but this "yellow" bar doesn't look anything like the yellow in the palette or in-game. Don't know if this brown-ish for player 6 shows up in game, I changed it to teal...
  5. @Lion.Kanzen What? I have no idea what you want to tell me with preseason, cups and tournaments. Similarly, I don't know why we should have world cups only every 4 years, or why that would be continental cups. In case I didn't make myself clear with the tennis-like approach: there are no seasons, but every month the results from the previous 12 months are taken into account; so you have no point where the table is reset to zero, in January or July or whenever.
  6. I still like the idea of a more Tennis-like approach, meaning that the results from within a year count; I don't really see a reason for "seasons".
  7. Are you sure you replied in the right thread? I can't see a post by @WhiteTreePaladin here...
  8. If they just wouldn't let out a death-cry and fall down so visibly...
  9. Sure, sure. When you just point your soldiers in the general direction of women you don't bear responsibility for their actions. I agree to the capturing and dismissing. Maybe it's good for the fertility of the fields, still seems a bit cruel to just kill my workers late game when I don't need them anymore.
  10. AFAIK shrubs were made to be built over. I thought it was limited to them but not any specific maps.
  11. "Throws"? What works best against rams is blades; that's why women with their daggers work, too.
  12. @scones Dude/Dudette, nobody will be trialing us. Or anybody else for playing a video game. In fact the Red Cross could cause us trouble, if we used their red cross symbol. I'm not sure if we actually changed our healing icon from red to green because of that, but I know that no matter how niche a game, they will come after you and make you stop using it.
  13. Yeah, as I wrote more about "raising awareness". The campaign was only a peg. FPS or RTS or any other genre: a war crime is a war crime. And any game is played ~now, a time where the concept is established. I didn't really expect anything to come out of this discussion, other than raising the question if we want genocide as the default setting.
  14. I just wanted to ask the forums' members if they think we should keep the default settings as they are, as they are currently encouraging (fictitious) war crimes; those are currently "glorified/justified" as they are necessary to win.
  15. This thread is not about that. (I don't believe it either.) I might be wrong, but I think that historical warfare was usually more about capturing lands and people and not about annihilating a certain people.
  16. Two albums I frequently revisit (for example when playing 0AD):
  17. Recently the Red Cross launched a campaign against committing war crimes in video games; I guess it's more to raise awareness than to actually change gamers' behavior. Personally, killing pixel-people including pixel-civilians (= genocide) doesn't wake the urge in me to transfer that into real life, but I wondered if you had an opinion about that, maybe changing the default settings to a non-bloody victory condition like a wonder victory?
  18. Hmmm. Maybe that was the case in this instance. (How long is a tick?) As for earlier occurrences I don't remember if I set the waypoint just immediately before the units came out.
  19. Sometimes it happens that soldiers spawn and not go to their waypoint (the next batch came out of the barracks and went to work). I don't remember that from previous versions.
  20. Archaeological Treasures of Uzbekistan - From Alexander the Great to the Kushan Empire A new exhibition in Berlin. Ever heard of the Kushan empire?
  21. Later the warnings and errors really popped up: logs3523II.zip Don't know if something's still wrong with the Ngorongoro map.
