I see, it also has a variety, should we stick to the kidaris then? -
===[TASK]=== Greek Unit Texture (General Thread)
wackyserious replied to wackyserious's topic in Official tasks
Proposal for the Scythian archers of the Athenian faction. The current actor file uses the Persian kidaris while the one below uses the Thracian cap which far more resembles the one that Scythians wore. Amphora depictions of Scythian archers also suggest that they sometimes worn armor. http://www.stoa.org/projects/demos/article_scythian_archers?page=all The Scythian archers acted as a police force for the Athenian urban society. -

So I got some free time this weekend and decided to progress with this thread. An upgrade and proposal for the Spartiates. Their current texture was very outdated, so I've decided to enhance it. -
[Terra Magna] Terra Magna is now available!

The Thracian building set was already started by Stan too, merging the assets to the mod could be a good start. What if we also include the added factions of DE (Thebans, Epirotes) to Terra Magna? -

What should we work on next? Scythians? Thracians? -

Was expecting these stuff in Aristeia too. Too bad the project has been in a very long hiatus.

Millennium A.D. - Alpha 23 Release Discussion

https://github.com/0ADMods/millenniumad/blob/master/art/textures/ui/pregame/shell/logo/0ad_logo.png Here is a .png format from the mod directory. I could not provide a high resolution file since that logo was constructed using the recommended resolution for the menu logo file. Do you need it to look like a banner? -

There was no conclusive discussion about the Hero units for the Byzantines, there were suggestions but nothing was finalized yet. -
So, today was my first day at the University. I'd say I'll be having a rough schedule for this semester. Our semester break was set on the third week of October. I'll still be around, maybe during the evening (GMT +8:00) when I get home, I will slowly try to consolidate recent works and new ones. I might transfer my works on the computer that I bring with me within the coming weeks. Good luck to everyone!

I'm seeing an olive green for the first one, pumpkin orange on the second one and beige on the third one. How about the others? Thank you @Lion.Kanzen

A proposal would then be reviewed and implemented if it gets approved.

@Genava55 It would be really helpful if you could help collaborate in creating an updated civilization profile for the Gauls and the Britons (A unit profile overview could do, so that there is a proper design which art contributors could follow) https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Civ%3A_Gauls https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Civ%3A_Britons

@Sundiata Not really sure, those are old game textures, I also noticed the same with some of the horse textures.

@Alexandermb This could help you visualize the cuirass. Not the perfect fit but the cuirass shows the shape and boundaries of the m_armor mesh.

What if we add a second-rate healing ability to female citizens? Maybe a technology that can be researched at houses to unlock this ability. This healing ability will function like a "tend to the wounded" ability, where female citizens can patch up wounded citizen-soldiers (this will need a new animation) at a slower rate compared to regular healers, maybe like 1hp per second. This could also work like how camp followers function during battles, where fighting men are taken care of by the non-combatants after and before a battle. We could also add an AoE battle performance reduction aura to female citizens so that when fighting nearby friendly units, citizen soldiers will perform worst (because friendly non combatants in the battle area are added liability to the fighters)

I was wondering how large are we allowed to resize the helmet textures? I've seen some 256x256 at the current game folder, I believe it was the Greek helmet rework by @stanislas69 With a 256x256 size majority of your new work will not lose its detail quality. 512s will come handy in the art source repository. It could be used when creating screenshots and even in art quality improvement mods.

@Alexandermb Yes, it will be very helpful. High quality .png images of the breastplates will indeed be helpful.

Could it be because of the population bonus from both structures? Both are parented to template_structure_military_barracks with both having a population bonus tweak of 8. The stables had technologies assigned to it, those are needed to be transferred elsewhere.
