===[COMMITTED]=== Persian Unit Texture Upgrade
wackyserious replied to wackyserious's topic in Completed Art Tasks
I tried to reduce the saturation, I might not include it in the commit then. Here are the current ones. In the middle is the current texture available in the game for the advanced rank.- 160 replies

===[COMMITTED]=== Persian Unit Texture Upgrade
wackyserious replied to wackyserious's topic in Completed Art Tasks
@LordGood This is how it currently looks like in game. For player 2 (Red) and player 1 (Blue) This is the most saturated that I would go, applying what I have read and observed about natural dyes. Does it stand out too much at its current state?- 160 replies

I am reading the material that Nescio provided. According to the comparison of Herodotus, the Sogdian had similar equipment to the Medes. I could not properly comprehend if when Herodotus told us that they were alike in that manner, that also includes their clothing. Also, what are your thoughts on brightly painted linothorax? I could increase the width of the wrinkles. Really trying to avoid organic shapes and hand-painting. -

I need opinions about the Hepatizon or the Corinthian Black Bronze. What information do we have about it? And was it possibly used in smiting battle gears like helmets, armors and shields? -

I hand-painted and tried to achieve the closest resemblance and this is the result. @stanislas69 @LordGood @Alexandermb Would this do? Should I commit it? -

Here is the current state of the bronze cuirass that I am working on. I am not really satisfied on how it looks. -

This was part of that article, again the use of iron body protection mentioned by Plutarch was noted. This was in 339 BC roughly around the time of Philip of Macedon's conquest of Greece. -

A good counter statement on how the Punic Sacred Band are often described in online contents. https://www.ancientworldmagazine.com/articles/punic-sacred-band-clearing-up-confusion/ -
13th Century Europe Mod - In Development
wackyserious replied to Bigtiger's topic in Game Modification
@nani Do you think it is possible to generate aesthetic random maps by combining decals and other game objects? Would this cause performance issues, especially when you use decals? I have made this several years ago when I wanted to demonstrate a map making technique. I place my pre-made dioramas using game objects including decals in a blank map and copy paste and rearrange and rotate them in another one. That way I could achieve higher quality terrain details thanks to the alpha transparency provided by the decal mesh. -

@Monder87 Decals are game objects which are formed using a flat mesh. Often, this 3D object is textured using terrain textures and are often used as bottom surface texture for other game objects such as trees, geological objects and structures. You could see it yourself in the Atlas map editor, it is found in the actor selection tab.
