  1. darn, that's awesome ! Great work Kyriakos and thanks for sharing. Ca you offer us a closer look ? I'd love to see the same picture but 3 times bigger if you're ok. On the previous page I also saw a very interesting precolombian set that seems to have very rich details. Keep the good work. And it's good to know you're learning Blender fast. I'm learning it too, but slower I think..
  2. Lion, on your screenshot at #36, I guess you raised saturation a bit, right ? It's nice, it's your style.
  3. Someday 0 A.D. will include the entire world, but before that, there's a decent game to make with well-done civilizations. The team is working on the Mauryans and each civ takes months (years sometimes) to be implemented in a satisfying way. Then, don't expect the entire world before a very long time. Also, pay attention to the timeframe of the game (from 500BC to 500AD). In this era, several civs you're talking about didn't exist yet (that's at least the case of Incas and Aztecs). For late 2013, the wish is to complete the game with its current civilizations, in a gold version. We're still at Alpha. So, new civilizations is for after 2013 at least. 4. On my opinion, that would be going too far. I think that people have to learn the history of things and understand that this symbol took place in the world in a peaceful way, long before the atrocities of the nazism. Leaving the svastika exclusively to the nazis would throw away so much History...
  5. Ah, Leper's been faster to answer! yes, it's all about using the developer overlay in the settings, and then removing the camera restriction. To have the sky : Alt + Z.
  6. That means changing several textures already used in completed models... After a quick search, I notice the svastika shape as been used since ages and by many different cultures, and in both bending direction : link For my part, I think we can leave the symbol as it is, for 2 reasons : -it was used that way in India and that should be recognized, especially in a History-careful game -the symbol in the game will anyway appear among many others that will dim its visual impact a lot
  7. All I see is awesomeness And to answer your question : I prefer the gold version.
  8. Yeah, very good parasol ! That was worth remaking it !
  9. Hi Josh ! Good start for the model. -Could you try to change the shape of your roof to something similar as the already-modeled Mauryan buildings ? Take a look at the curve and framework details in Lordgood's houses for example. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, sure, but it's probably better to keep an harmony in the style and geometry. -I also suggest having a second silo, maybe smaller than the other and maybe designed slightly differently, so we feel like the dropsite manages different kinds of resources (grains, vegetables, fruits) -About the silo's door : I think you can remove the bottom part of its frame, and I suggest you give the door the same texture as the other door. -Chimney : I would have it a bit taller and slightly thicker. -And finally, just to help to visualize your model better, can you put higher quality textures (maybe just change their resolution) to the silo roof and to the ground ? Josh, before posting pictures, can you crop out all the unnecessary space around your model ? That will facilitate the view a lot.
  10. Enrique, great work on the chariot texturing. Just one remark : I'm really not fond of the look of the umbrella in that last picture... It looks too kitsch and modern. Can you try another style closer to the reference pictures, something with less red and more white ? I know we need to see the player color, but for now your version looks way too much like a modern beach umbrella. Sticking to the source pictures might lead you to something working fine.
  11. Hi Lion! It seems I can't access to the download of the file without an account on Depositfiles. Can you send back the file but as an attachment inside your comment ? That's simpler. Thanks!
  12. This explanation is super clear, thank you Jonathan.
  13. Mmm, according to the plans of Persepolis on this page, my plan is urban planning is not too inaccurate. If you have more sources, I'm very interested. Unfortunately, most of the archeological plans we have from ancient towns only show the palaces and temples disctricts, so we almost don't know how they did set the housing and secondary buildings areas. I must admit too that my main inspiration for this map is the Alexander movie by Oliver Stone, that's why I did this main avenue from the Ishtar gate to a final epic "ziggurat".
  14. I like the way it is now. I think it's part of the realism. A battle can be very messy, and this detail contributes to that feeling, without affecting the gameplay, at least not for me.
  15. I am the copyright holder of original works I post in the Wildfire Games 0 A.D. Art Development forum. I hereby release all original works I uploaded to this forum in the past, and those I will upload in the future, under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license.
  16. AOE (the original one) is still considered a masterpiece, among hardcore gamers and also among rare players like some of my friends. So, definitely, 0 A.D. being compared to it is a very good sign.
  17. Has it been considered to have water above the sea surface ? (like rivers going down from a mountain, for example) I imagine it means a lot of programming and complicating issues in the way Atlas does work... right ?
  18. These are excellent suggestions ! Thank you. I think I'm gonna spend dozens of hours on this map to make it pure epic'ness
  19. it's Atlas's sunset sky. By the way, it's too low res. compared to the rest of the scene. I wonder if we could update the sky images for cleaner ones... but well, that's a very secondary detail as the sky is normally not visible..
  20. I just spent around 3 hours on Atlas starting an ambitious Persian map. I love Babylon and all those legendary ancient cities of Middle-East and I am a bit frustrated by the lack of giant towns in 0 A.D. (also because for now I suck in the game and never reach a decent development stage), that's why I'm making what I call a Capital Town. To make it feel even more impressive, I've set it uphill, standing over the desert like a massive fortress. I started this map by heavily modifying the existing map "Saharan Oases". I don't know if this map will end up with a scenario, or at least interesting to have into the game. Anyway, I can't wait to add people inside it. Feedback is welcome ! As you can notice on the bird view, I didn't succeed at having a fade out from the dune material to the rock material. Atlas is mostly new for me.
  21. A very good one, indeed ! That series is a bomb! I can't wait the next season. Much of its soundtrack is worth listening by the way.
  22. Hi Geek! Mmm, why not having all the logos, yes. I'll give a try in the week-end.
  23. Thank you Ben for this topic, you had a good idea.
