  1. This is just one thought, but perhaps there could be a part 1.5 for 0 A.D. In this part, the Achaean League, Macedonia (from the times of Philip the V and Perseus), the Aetolian League, the Seleucids, possibly the Illyrians, Carthaginians, Romans, Ptolemies, Celts, Iberians, and Maccabees could be included.
  2. I was just wondering, but when you mentioned an idea for the Seluecids was the hero planned, (Antiocus the IV Epiphanes) the very same Antiochus Polybius said was known as Epimanes?
  3. By the way, which of the civilizations would you say is the toughest to play against?
  4. Out of sheer curiosity though, does that mean that part one will be modified so that there will be these features on it when part two is released?
  5. Note, the Carthaginians were a republic not an empire. Otherwise, very well done with the design.
  6. I think that triggers could arrange that for you.
  7. Alpha X Josephus. Josephus was a Jewish Historian who lived during the days of the Zealot Revolt and wrote a very extensive history on the nation of Israel.
  8. I would say that the number of houses should be limited by the number of civic centers you have though.
  9. If it is called Jerusalem, should it not be in honor of Jeru? After all, Alpha I's name was in honor of Wijitmaker.
  10. Greetings. I just wanted to report the fact that I have been playing Alpha IX and have found it very enjoyable. However, whenever I attempt to save a map I have been working on with atlas editor, the game crashes. I use Mac OSX Snow Leopard and downloaded the official build the day after its release.
  11. Thorfinn finds that to be very difficult to believe.
  12. Well, as far as waiting till Alpha 10, it still might not work. The most probable things that will be completed by Alpha 10 are features such as improved effects for ranged attacks, making them have such things as splash damage and such; healing etc;....
  13. A two-click mode might be easier though now to come to think of it.
  14. Well perhaps there could be a 50% chance of the horse getting killed or not. If it is not, then you may eventually find it and herd it into your corral.
  15. Overall though, it seems more logical to not even have a mercenary building. When you begin a game perhaps you could merely choose if every civilization could hire mercenaries. (The Carthaginians of course would always be able to.) Most of the hiring should be done at the Civic Centre and would be limited to the scope of regional units. In order to get a ship built by the natives, you just pay a bunch of gold and wood and presto. However, the scale should be limited to only one ship, and at that it should be nothing more than a trireme or bireme.
  16. Just my two cents, but why call it 'pirate stronghold'? That does not seem to fit a game where the building names are in the native language of the respective civilizations.
  17. This is my say. The Iberians should be able to merely stock up their merchant vessels and such with soldiers. As their javelin throwers would be able to hurl flaming spears, enemy ships actually could be destroyed. The thing that should be understood though, is the kind of strategy the Iberians would be made for. As they have only a bad navy in the last few ages, they need to rush their opponents on a sea map. Likewise, instead of going to the unnecessary trouble of making weaker cultures, it could be possible to perhaps merely make trade agreements with your rivals for units.
  18. But also, if you wanted a more superior ship, could you make diplomatic agreements with another player in order to control 'X' amount of units for 'Y' amount of resources? Likewise, it would be good if you could actually use garrisoned archers and such to defend your economic vessels.
  19. Perhaps you could buy ships from civilizations
  20. Perhaps if you kept them idle they could live a bit longer.
