  1. I would still say that ambushes should be able to be launched by units other than merely Iberian ones. It would be good if the Celts also could ambush and the same for particular units such as javelin-throwers and Cretans. Iberians we all know are famous for it, but that should not mean that it is exclusively their ability. Instead, they should only be the best of all Civilizations, being able to use truly any unit to do an ambuscade.
  2. I disagree. It seems like a really cheap mechanic to use in a real time strategy game that revolves around warfare not espionage, which was fairly insignificant at that time of the first part. Maybe ninjas could be added in as an easter egg unit though.
  3. Agreed. That should especially affect chariots.
  4. The Hittites never had their charioteers ride in the chariots during long distance trips. The men that they trained were also very disciplined and tough
  5. Kleisthenes or Cleisthenes, founder of Athenian democracy.
  6. This is just one thought, but perhaps there could be a part 1.5 for 0 A.D. In this part, the Achaean League, Macedonia (from the times of Philip the V and Perseus), the Aetolian League, the Seleucids, possibly the Illyrians, Carthaginians, Romans, Ptolemies, Celts, Iberians, and Maccabees could be included.
  7. I was just wondering, but when you mentioned an idea for the Seluecids was the hero planned, (Antiocus the IV Epiphanes) the very same Antiochus Polybius said was known as Epimanes?
  8. By the way, which of the civilizations would you say is the toughest to play against?
  9. Out of sheer curiosity though, does that mean that part one will be modified so that there will be these features on it when part two is released?
  10. Note, the Carthaginians were a republic not an empire. Otherwise, very well done with the design.
  11. I think that triggers could arrange that for you.
  12. Alpha X Josephus. Josephus was a Jewish Historian who lived during the days of the Zealot Revolt and wrote a very extensive history on the nation of Israel.
  13. I would say that the number of houses should be limited by the number of civic centers you have though.
  14. If it is called Jerusalem, should it not be in honor of Jeru? After all, Alpha I's name was in honor of Wijitmaker.
  15. Greetings. I just wanted to report the fact that I have been playing Alpha IX and have found it very enjoyable. However, whenever I attempt to save a map I have been working on with atlas editor, the game crashes. I use Mac OSX Snow Leopard and downloaded the official build the day after its release.
  16. Thorfinn finds that to be very difficult to believe.
  17. Well, as far as waiting till Alpha 10, it still might not work. The most probable things that will be completed by Alpha 10 are features such as improved effects for ranged attacks, making them have such things as splash damage and such; healing etc;....
  18. A two-click mode might be easier though now to come to think of it.
  19. Well perhaps there could be a 50% chance of the horse getting killed or not. If it is not, then you may eventually find it and herd it into your corral.
  20. Overall though, it seems more logical to not even have a mercenary building. When you begin a game perhaps you could merely choose if every civilization could hire mercenaries. (The Carthaginians of course would always be able to.) Most of the hiring should be done at the Civic Centre and would be limited to the scope of regional units. In order to get a ship built by the natives, you just pay a bunch of gold and wood and presto. However, the scale should be limited to only one ship, and at that it should be nothing more than a trireme or bireme.
