  2. Hi all, Im making a new map, the siege of Halicarnassus. This is the very first preview, it is still in progress, but i would like to receive some feedback. Yes, it has a lot of props, i like detail, i'm just trying to make it more "vivid". This is the reference im using, i didn't make it exactly as is shown there, i forgot to add some things while making it, but now that is that advanced it may be a pain! http://www.discusmedia.com/maps/turkish_city_maps/5594/ v1.1 v1.2 1.3v This is what it seems to be the end of the map. Perhaps i could release as a 4 player maps (3v1), but, believe me, you cant play it (It lags without unit around, imagine it with units) Anyways, I had to improvise the Mausoleom, with walls and ground elevation. It has some greeks buildings, as i understood while i was reading, they had some multicultural life. I tried to make it, the most accurate possible, obviously, for many reasons there a lot things that cant be made, but in the other hand, i forgot many others . Hope you enjoy it! 1.4v

  5. I had the idea of extending the Tab key. Right now, depress the Tab and you see the health bars of all your units. What if the Tab is more of a toggle and it toggle on other things too, like the floaty icons you propose and various range graphics. Likely too busy to play that way for the whole match, but would be useful, 10 seconds at a time for the player to plan better or get snapshot of what's going on.

  8. I figured out what problem was: the driver wasn't actually updated. I did it through VAIO care, because if you do it directly in the settings like I did it in the beginning it doesn't work, it can't find the update by itself. So if anyone has a vaio and the same issue, download the graphic driver through VAIO Care. Your right echotango. PS: I can play the game but it lags alot, drop of fps. But it's another problem, I try to look for a post on this issue.

  10. IMO the fun, challenge and gameplay excitement is not on the multiplayer mode. I don't train myself either to play competitively as you can see I don't chop all trees, make more farms/buildings nor gather metal. I have never seen the beauty of the game in multi. Therefore I don't plan on playing multiplayer. Whether it's a pro game or not the videos look the same. No walls allowed then you rather play RoN having better game mechanics. The activity is more on just building structures and then train armies then battle. Just become quick/fast, think a little bit and you will do good. The game becomes predictable like when you play the AI. The game is quite fast in normal the your unit can easily explore, the units can be easily acquired that it's very easy to field a disorganized army to battle in a disorganized manner/event. Borg and the best players are really good but there games are honesty boring.

  12. To select actors (which are just graphics, no impact on gameplay) press Alt. (This and a few other things that might be useful are mentioned in the Atlas Manual.) For logs (and also where to place maps when installing them (assuming that they aren't in a mod, and even if they were the information would be there)) see the game data paths wiki page.

  13. As the error says, BMP format (with these settings) is not supported, you need to use BMP with right settings, the one of: gray, 8 bits per pixel without alpha channel colored, 24 bits per pixel without alpha channel colored, 32 bits per pixel with alpha channel About required format: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Atlas_Manual_Heightmap_Import UPD. Your BMP hasn't a gray flag (in other words it's colored), but it has 8 bits per pixel.

  14. Talks about an upcoming campaign circulates around the polis, the mere mention of conflict stirs confusion among the citizens. The rumors were true, the local commander has called upon the fighting men. May the gods favor the men of our polis.

  15. I doubt that would help, if people don't read it now I don't think they will read it later. I do think we could make error reporting easier though, maybe it would be possible for the game to gather up the relevant files into a zip file and include a link that would open in the file browser of their operating system, so it would just be to take that and upload. But if nothing else we should most likely at least include a link to the game data paths page in the wiki so people would have an idea where to find them.

  16. Just a reminder that on both Linux and OSX putting a "." as the first character of files and folders makes them hidden so to get to them you need the "show hidden files" function of your file browser active. Enjoy the Choice

  17. Yeah I never think enjoy of realistic Roman units in a RTS. For example. This can be arguable. If the interface is helping there? He isn't showing that. So is unfair. but he was right if this happens and units are in total control. If i have units in properly formation of batttalion. The one difference is the formation not the graphic, both graphics shows a 3D scene.( even if one is a 2D game using 3D sprites). Other Make same with this image, oh surprise... If im very unfamiliar with units, mis obviusly I can play this when this happens. All is about control units, that why we are planning have better the game. I can even show you it's not fancy graphic fault, is design conceptual gameplay and even pooor decisions in art. Other example from AoE 2 this time a mod. Even the mess is with houses. 2D sprite graphics( from 3D render) in same engine ( genie engine) now look at this. totally fancy graphic with a better control units.

  18. I've hidden three recent posts because they were unrelated to the topic, and if anything only could serve to cause conflict. If someone wants to be sure that others take their opinions/suggestions seriously I would advise to not bring up old conflicts but rather new ideas

  21. @Skhorn it seems @niektb's comment to @Lion.Kanzen's first take on his section will be suitable here too: Maybe you can make it more blending with the surroundings?) The desired direction seems to be in making a more or less consistent map rather than patchwork of wildly different sections
