I think the roman army camp would be better at phase 2. however, rams should not be buildable at this phase. No other Civ can make siege in P2. I think most people don't use the camp because the build time takes too long. Reducing the build time to 200 seconds (20% reduction) would make it more viable. To make it more affordable, I think it it should be 400 wood (100 wood reduction) with 100 stone and 100 metal but the overall stats should be changed. I would suggest slight health reduction to 1750 health to balance the faster build time. I think the arrows should still stay the same. Thoughts?3 points

Some random points: Start page has 4 different hover effects and there are more variants in other places red old style buttons need to go tooltip background transparency (only used sometimes) may lead to hard to read tooltips radio button are of the old theme, same for drop down arrow ai options icon color button borders come in variants some enabled buttons lack hover there is an issue when expanding the menu in-game full screen pages like match-setup shouldn't have inset window borders/decorations As for incomplete, well, the in-game game controls are untouched as of yet. While there are many small issues, overall I feel like the direction is right so I hope you won't give up on it as this is an aspect that I think is in dire need of some love.3 points

And the last game got played. The deadline extension proved to be useful! Remember you can ask one if you couldn't play your game in time due to unfortunate things. Athenians and persians can train units in ships. This would be even better, if they could also do this if they are away from the coast. The units could simply be garrisoned inside the ship (currently the training doesnt happen unless the ship is at a coast)1 point

Hello This is annoying, to see many hosted games, but in fact they are zombies (unable to connect) it says System: Service unavailable In attached screenshot there is a case with Shyft_Sierra I also noticed similar behaviour for solsyah. Does others have also similar issue can you report them here? Me personally never had issue to host and quit game and game always dissapeared from game list. The purpose of this thread here is to find out root cause of this issue Fell freee to express yourself Devs did you alrady noticed this? Are you workarounding it somehow? Are you aware of it? @Stan`1 point

A unit is not OP if it is counter-able OR it is prohibitively difficult to obtain. Good game design requires that units not be prohibitively difficult to obtain because a prohibitively difficult to obtain unit is superfluous. Melee champ cav cannot be countered and are not prohibitively difficult to obtain. Therefore they are OP. No, they have more health and more armor. Even if they die, 10 champ cav paired with a normal army in a 200 pop game can leave the attacker at 190 pop while the defender has 130 pop. That is GG. A unit can die and still be OP if it leads to a player winning a game. Brit chariots are not OP. They are counter-able by any melee champ cav, CS spears, sniping, and by other means.1 point

Some good points here. Pemulis, musical taste is a very personal thing. Why doesn't everyone like [insert food type here]? Does everyone have to like [insert food type here]? I tried to listen to Frank Zappa's music several times, but I don't like the psychological and sexual deviance themes. It's musically quite talented and varied, though. Clearly some prog metal artists have lifted some ideas from his music such as the wild chromatic scale breaks and time and key signature variations. Or, maybe they've derived from a common source. I saw a Youtube video today that explains some of the reasons that pop music is crappy. But, let's acknowledge that there is plenty of quality modern music that isn't pop music. Some bullet points from the Youtube video. Why pop music is the preferred taste of most people. Why it's not good to allow people to own ideas. A related issue is software patents, which aren't mentioned in the video, but they have similar problems.1 point

Yeah, only skirms. But that's better than some civs. Also, you get many siege options and camp, which other civs don't have. All in, Rome is by no means the worst civ.1 point

@Pemulis Good points. I'd like to expand discussion. I think we have wrong perception of entertainment. Why it must be on such low cultural level? Back to topic, do you think composers or their listener doesn't enjoy and relax by making/listening classic music? Do we believe that Nikola Tesla, I. Newton, A. Einstein, Shaekspire, Goethe, Dostoyevsky and other big people didn't enjoy revealing unexplored secrets of our universum ? Do we think big spirits from religion(s) didn't enjoy in their prayers and "contemplation" (not sure it's correct word)? Isn't it pleasure and relaxing when you work on your "spirit" and after day you feel you did something - at least a little bit - useful. I believe that these type of entertainment are much harder to get into and require strong will these days. But I believe it fills our life with feeling of sense (not sense itself) and that way we find another type of hapiness, long-term happiness. Also if you talk to people who are involved in charity organization, they all share some paradoxal feeling of hapiness. I guess we can try to explain that by empathy. Why that plumber can't sit on sofa and listen Bach, read some classic novel instead of stupid TV shows? In theory, he is tired physically not mentally...1 point
