  1. Hello everyone, For the purposes of helping me review patches for Alpha 24 (coming soon!), I made a quick mod to get an easy "macro" view of templates and try a few things out. My intention is that this mod should be compatible with most other mods, not just 0 A.D. itself, even most total conversion mods. I'm releasing it publicly, it'll soon be on mod.IO and it's on GitHub: https://github.com/wraitii/balance_test_mod See the wiki over there for some more documentation. I'll probably keep adding a few more features until I'm happy, and intend to maintain this somewhat since we don't really have a better tool. Here's a screenshot of the "good stuff":

  2. fort els vilars, lleida cataluña in iber zone ruins "map" 3D https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/els-vilars-9ffeefc1a2ad47bd97c51e08b7731f77?sscid=11k5_l1cii&utm_source=shareasale&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=742098_1272560 https://www.behance.net/gallery/37443505/Iberian-fortress-of-Vilars-dArbeca There are a thousand Iberian deposits in Catalonia, but none like this one. Between the 8th and 4th centuries B.C. the territory was fragmented into small political units. From the century Va.C. they were decomposing to create larger populations, being Iltirta (Lleida) the largest, with 170,000 inhabitants and 9,500 square kilometers of extension, ”says Junyent. Already in the 3rd century BC. the Iberians would be involved in the Punic Wars that faced the two powers of the Mediterranean, Rome and Carthage Despite the great fortification of Els Vilars, the town was a small nucleus, with 150-170 inhabitants. «80% of the built surface was occupied by defenses. There is an immense disproportion with the inhabited space. Which shows that it was an architecture of power and ostentation: everything is theatrical. The town was the residence of the head of some lineage in an increasingly complex society. The fortress has an ideological dimension, it is an identity and cohesive element of the group, ”says the historian. This community of farmers developed a hydraulic and metallurgical technology, with kilns and rotary mills. But in addition, it was also a town dedicated to horse breeding. And here appears one of the most unusual rituals: horse fetuses have been found buried under the houses. In a widespread custom, the unborn (either stillborn or aborted) were buried under the perimeter of the house, not in the necropolis. “He was obeying some kind of religious practice. But no other place is known where they were made with horses: they treated them the same way as human babies. It is a ritual directed at some divinity related to fertility or protection, ”says Emili Junyent. https://latunicadeneso.wordpress.com/tag/iberos/ I do not put pages in Catalan in case the translator goes crazy and finally video of an ancient Iberian city

  3. I am still loving 0AD, I started playing a few years ago and from having zero interest in ancient history it got me into totally geeking out over the cultures in the game and reading many fascinating books about them. And I went to Rome to the see real forum and Colosseum because of this, thank you! I was just showing my kids how to play for the first time, they have been doing romans at school. They always want to play as romans but they are complaining that romans should always be red, and when they play (by default, as player 1, against the computer, like most people will do) they are blue which is wrong. So could we suggest that the romans, and maybe other factions, should have a most historically accurate color which gets selected by default? I know you can tweak the setting to put yourself on team 2 to get the red romans, but I've been playing for years as blue romans before my kids made me even think to do this. Most players will want to be romans as they are the best known faction, so when a new player clicks "play" they should get historically accurate red romans as the default setting.

  11. Hey, Loki! Nice to see you! Glad to hear. I worked really hard on it. Remember when the brothers went on vacation and I standardized the formatting and fixed the indentations? Even using a code formatter, that took about a whole month of full-time work; and when they came back from vacation I got treated like a pariah for one tiny mistake I made in one tiny line of code, a typo; which is when... Anyways, I hope you understand my bitterness... Glad to find a good old friend here. :-) EDIT: I'm "Chuck Starchaser", by the way; not sure if you know. Ah, I guess you do; you remembered my love of Eiffel.

  12. Movement in formation has been improved but still has flaws in the way it deals with obstruction. If you want to pass through a chokepoint small enough, the formation will not find a path here and will need to go around, whereas in 'no formation' they can go through. Also when there are small objects which obstructs the path, the formation will be slowed down, sometimes more than necessary. Also there is no option to temporarily select 'no formation' to deal with these cases. For these reasons I deactivated it. Edit: That said it is true it might still be faster for when there are small objects obstructions. However it makes the movements less predictable (could hurt when you enter a fight)

  14. Xylophone ? ^^ If I manage to get the changes I want to the sound system, Walking sounds without the weird effect when two many units are moving Making sure the gain works as expected. Ambient sounds defined by objects and not globally. With specific range. plus @OmriLahav tracks especially the ones from the Kushites.

  15. Xenial Xerus - Oops! Wrong thread. xiphos - The classic blade was generally about 50–60 cm long, although the Spartans supposedly started to use blades as short as 30 cm around the era of the Greco-Persian Wars.
