Here, offer my finished Zapotec "Range" model (but open as improvements, if requested). In the future, I can post new models here. I would like it to be added to the Delenda Est and Terra Magna mods: D. @ Stan`, @ wowgetoffyourcellphone (@ everyone who wants to take a look) Any comments I can correct?@ wowgetoffyourcellphone (@ everyone who wants to take a look) Any observations that I can correct? range_zapo2.3.zip3 points

On the subject of war elephants, will there ever be a "spooking" mechanic in game, specifically for herdables and cavalry faced with elephants. Possibly a lessening "spookablility" with higher level?2 points

Hi there, I'm new to the game but really interested in the art development of it. After going through the task it seems elephants are a priority. I would like to contribute, and I'm taking reference from that task on the sample roadmap subject: But they don't appear on the Gaia List of task and neither on the Art dev, task tracker. Just to make sure how I can contribute ^^2 points

What about trying to import the helmet model from the game? They are now quite highly detailed and accurate. Since these are close ups we should have them wearing realistic gear (specially helmets).1 point

Something that needs discussing is; if y'all do decide to give the Ptolemaics this shield, which unit would get it? They have very little Egyptian influence in their roster, and the most Egyptian unit is just a lower tier Hellenic unit. A possible re-construction of the Ptolemaic roster based on cheap Machimoi units early game with a more powerful hellenic units mid and late game would definitely be interesting, and I would totally help construct that, but that's probably a debate for another thread.1 point

Great! Keep in mind that it's Bison bonasus and not Bison Bison, due to the very European nature of this game Looking forward to what you can do1 point

Ok, ranks implemented, unfortunately it's getting a bit crumpled on the small image: Now, this warning I've been having for a while, no idea why it happens. My layout might be messing something up that the renderer does not like: `ERROR: CRenderer::EndFrame: GL errors GL_INVALID_VALUE (0501) occurred` It does not hinder the functionality or visual, but definitely something that requires being addressed before release. prodmod.pyromod1 point

Ok, technology seems to be giving more trouble than I expected. So I am updating with a prerelease version: - Add hotkeys and configs, defaults: hotkey.prodmod.toggleVisibility = "Ctrl+Space" // Self evident hotkey.prodmod.toggleMode = "Shift+Space" // If visible toggle mode, if not visible show and toggle mode hotkey.prodmod.quickShowUnits = "Space+q" // Quick view, hide when key is unpressed hotkey.prodmod.quickShowProduction = "Space+w" // Quick view, hide when key is unpressed prodmod.enabled = "false" // visible at start One small hiccup is that the units display differentiates between rank levels but I am not displaying the ranks themselves, I am still considering if I unify the unit counts or display with separated ranks. prodmod.pyromod1 point

I'm not sure what the goal of this thread is, but with regards to eyecandy stuff there is an entire subforum https://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?/forum/433-eyecandy-custom-projects-and-misc/ With regards to balancing, feel free to propose your ideas to @borg- @Nescio either here or even better directly by making a differential on Phabricator. For stuff like this, would be nice to have some sources1 point

@Stan` The problem is the `autociv_patchApplyN` function is not available to that file, which is puzzling since I am using the same format as autociv is. Anyway, I already put the definition and the same file as GuiInterface and called it a day New development version: - Dynamically colored sprites - Brighten progress bar if the player color is too dark (most difficult thing I've done on this project so far ) - Compatible with or without autociv/mods that alter player color prodmod.pyromod1 point
-
New development version: - Adjusted positioning for production row when not observer and playerid > 1 - Small visual adjustments - Decreased update delay from 1s -> 500ms - Small optimizations and refactoring - Do not show remaining time for buildings without assigned workers - Do not display progress bar when foundation has not started - Small adjustments in preparation for Units display mode - Fixed transition when player resigns -> observer mode prodmod.pyromod1 point

Maybe this is also interesting? And because I shared some post-Maurya Gandhara references in the previous post, I'll share a Gandhara model building showing a roof with a noticeable degree of continuity with the typical Maurya style roofs we also feature in-game: Reliquary in the shape of a cruciform miniature building, Gandhara Art, Shaikhan Dhri, 2nd-3rd Century AD: While at the same time, Hellenistic influences are sometimes quite overt even as late as the 3rd century AD (and well beyond) Gandhara Art, Pakistan, 3rd century. Ooooh, on the question of Indian turrets, I found something interesting... There is a panel from Gandhara (Charg Pate, Indian subcontinent), depicting a war elephant with turret. These kind of panels are variously dated between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD. I can't tell the exact date for the panel presented here, but its content is quite relevant for us. It depicts Ashoka! We can't say how far back this tradition of depicting turreted war elephants in association with Ashoka goes. Maybe it was an anachronistic one time thing, produced centuries after Ashoka, or maybe it was once a more common type of depiction with a historical tradition. Who knows? What we do know is that within a few centuries of Ashoka, we have art from the same region depicting Ashoka in association with a towered war elephant. Same panel, different picture: On the question of elephant stables, the following Gandhara panel is possibly of interest: The elephant standing in the door opening on the left might be a purely symbolical depiction, or might actually represent, or be based on a credible scene of an elephant exiting its "stables". Again, who knows? But still interesting.1 point
