If the game could implement Battle for Middle Earth-style battalions, then the game could offer a "Battle Mode", where the player gets XYZ resources (determined by the host) to choose their army composition and then battle it out on a custom map against enemy players doing the same. No building. No resource gathering. Just tactical warfare. Essentially, it would be Rome:Total War style battles with 0 A.D. units. This would complement the game's standard mode, not replace it. What would be needed to make this work I think is a bunch of UI work, UnitAI updates, a BattleAI player, plus battalions of course. The maps you battle out on can either by skirmish maps or random map scripts designed for the purpose. With random map scripts, the host can determine the size of the battlefield, so that's good, and maybe a few other variables (like season, weather, time of day, etc.).3 points

Hey guys! I've been a fan of 0AD for a while and recently I started reviewing FOSS games. This Friday I made a review for 0AD and I want to share it with you guys and hear your thoughts, as well as some tips on how to get better at the game, in particular on the Ptolomies, which I enjoy playing the most and wanna focus on while I get good(also having free houses helps me cause I'm lazy ). Hello and welcome to the forums @QuinXnX, Thank you for your interest in participating in this big project. There are a lot of things that needs to be done in a wide area of subjects. With regards to documentation, most if not all our documentation is located on Trac. The current task there is just to maintain and update documentation where possible. There is also a bit of bug triaging (making sure they are still relevant with the latest version etc) Yes they are still in the planning phase. There is currently no existing planning for the campaigns. Scenarios are already possible (and one can add special events using JavaScript scripts called triggers) but there is currently no interface ready for such campaigns (they would have to be played one by one in the default game menu) There is a patch by @wraitii that needs to be improved and finished. You can find more details about it here https://code.wildfiregames.com/D11 With regards to your application, you need first to create some interesting contribution for the game before getting an official title. You can however use the development version with no restriction for creating those scenarios2 points

Thank you @Feldfeld and @ValihrAnt for popularising 0ad by streaming it live on twitch.tv as well as for letting others to see how best players do their job. I hope some day 0ad will have more spectators on www.twitch.tv than VALORANT (current TOP 1). Anyway these 3 are in top of all top 1v1 replays. They are definitely 'must-see' games.2 points

I learned to code in an 8K address space you have to be tight in your memory usage as well as your logic all increasing the address space does for most current coders is increase bloat. Enjoy the Choice1 point

yes exactly… because their patfinding is similar and the core need to find only one path for the wohl group (max 200 units/group) instead of finding 200 paths. and you may notice that units that are not moving, dont afects the fps.1 point
