In Age of Empires HD (2013) certain factions have a bonus with which they share a unique unit. I know this is not possible even in 0 A.D. and I think it would be a good idea for factions like the Mauryas or the case of the Numbers to share a unique unit or with a special bonus. In AoE it works like this. if you are being an ally of Italian you have access to a new unit. (Additional new unit) same with Berbers in African Kingdoms. @Stan` @Freagarach @elexis @Angen Is it possible to program this feature? This would work as follows. if you are not allied, no additional icon will be shown.3 points

A friend recommended 0AD to me three says ago. I've been dipping into it. I'm pretty impressed. I speak as a former senior dev on Battle For Wesnoth, so I have a better idea than most what's required to produce a game like this. Some of you might recognize me for...other things. Well done, everybody. I partiicularly like the attention to historical detail; I can recognize authenticity in the costumes and architecture. This kind of collaboration - attracting more talent than any single proprietary shop can afford to hire - is one of the strengths of open source. I'm expecting great things of the eventual 1.0 version.2 points

It's indeed much easier to express your opinion on a particular post without having to clutter the topic. But i'm not really the confused face is actually used to express your confusion. I feel its meaning has become something like 'Wut? Why would you say such a thing?' but that might just be me lol2 points

Currently 0 A.D. has the following team bonuses: Athenians: Allied Warships −25% construction time. Britons: Allied Healers −20% resource costs. Carthaginians: Allied Markets +10% international trade bonus. Gauls: Allied Structures −20% technology research time. Iberians: Allied Citizen Javelinists −10% resource costs. Kushites: Allied Elephants −20% resource costs and training time. Macedonians: Allies +20% barter sell prices. Mauryas: Allied Temples −50% resource costs and building time; Temple technologies −50% resource costs and research time. Persians: Allied Land Traders +15% trade gain. Ptolemies: Allies +1.0 food trickle rate. Romans: Allied Citizen Infantry −10% training time. Seleucids: Allied Civil Centers −20% resource costs. Spartans: Allied Citizen Infantry Spearmen +10% health. As you can see not all team bonuses are equally good. The Macedonian bonus is simply great; the Iberian, Ptolemaic, and Roman bonuses can be quite useful in early game, the Persian later on, the Seleucid on large maps. The Briton bonus seems rather limited (who trains healers?), the Athenian is only useful on water maps, the Kushite only for civs that can train elephants (a minority). Maybe some team bonuses ought to be replaced. Other thoughts or suggestions?1 point

Hi! In the past, there was only one kind of reaction on the forum, perhaps was it . It could be confusing to give a like when something sad happens, so I guess it was thought that giving some nuances was better. Now we have 5 choices Thanks Like Haha Sad Confused I often see people receiving the last one, without any comments. I guess that if someone is confused, he could just ask clarifications. Last time I received it, I was really disturbed. I really think that we could only give positive reactions. If something is not of our taste, one can just skip it or discuss about it. Any opinion?1 point

I think we should have more. It helps a lot to not clutter up threads and quickly gauge community response. Red heart button for "love" Blue thumbs up for "like" A thumbs down button theoretically sounds logical, but for psychological reasons, it might not be advised. In theory we shouldn't let online interactions determine our feelings and state of mind, but reality is a different question. I think the "confused" choice is nuanced enough to express something akin to a dislike without being too harsh.1 point

Why are those things there in the first place? Wouldn't it be better to disable them all? Or at least hide them for everyone except those users who explicitly opt in?0 points
