You speak my language well not Bergensk but you are for the environment, and you care about the animals, nature, and I commend you for that. There are a lot of selfish people on this earth that only care about money or benefiting themselves whether they ruin the earth or not,and they do not care. I was hiking on the main village road on my way to the woods, and this couple from Greece that just moved here {Sorry to the good greeks that have integrity, and are good people} asked me why I am going into the forest, and they told me that only Satanist go in woods lol Than they look at my valnut bracelet and said now I can see why you go in the forest lol I didn't even explain I am a pagan and just smiled and said "yes I am on my way to the shop to buy some candles, and I would stay longer to talk but I am running late, and today is a special day when we get our cloaks, wish me luck". Than the woman said "yes she must be a witch because look how long her hair is". She says you can use a haircut, and only witches have long hair. So I asked her what is it,am I out of style or I am a witch? " lol Yes people fear the forest, and associate it with negativity, ghosts, and evil. The forest is where our gods visit, and yes the jarls and earls graced this area in the past We have the deepest forests here in Bergen,i mean massive elm trees cover the land, and when winter hits there is nothing but cold, and darkness, and It can be cool and scary at the same time. To me it is cool, and I love going out in a blizzard, but if one isn't used to Norway's weather one will be miserable here. When the winter hits I am all over the land hiking, and enjoying or I love sitting in my house listening to some black metal, and playing video games. I used to skii but with all the other hobbies I got into I never had anymore time for it. Where you live sounds so beautiful, and a paradise, and yes you have a nice variety of animals heh Tourists always ask me "where are the polar bears". Go to the zoo ? Or go Northern Norway ? lol You will be disappointed here in Bergen. A corporation will take a beautiful area and change it into a mall, and that is absurd. Where malls are here in Norway or anywhere around the world used to be the most beautiful land. Sacrifice beautiful land for a landmark that sells coach purses.3 points

Hi again, i made this topic to ask for 2D workers and historical investigators for references to start an update for the Iberian Faction Infantry/Cavalry, since their units are really outdated and all infantry looks almost the same. References: Weapons used by iberians: Shields: Javelinist/Heavy Swordsman Light Infantry - Basic Rank Scutari equipment: Scutari Formation: Infantry Spearman: Basic rank slingers: Iberian Heavy Cavalry: Iberian Chieftain: Iberian Cavalry and Scutari: Various Infantry: Iberian Cavalry: Religion: Source: https://arrecaballo.es/edad-antigua/el-caballo-en-la-peninsula-iberica/los-iberos/ Celt Iberian Cavalry: Celt Iberian infantry Source:https://arrecaballo.es/edad-antigua/el-caballo-en-la-peninsula-iberica/los-celtiberos/2 points

DPS doesn't mean much in cavalry archer case. Cavalry have what infantry lack, mobility. I've recently played most of my 1v1 with Seleucids and Persians doing cavalry archers, and haven't had trouble dealing with skirmishers or slingers a single time no matter how outnumbered. Freehand formation draw is very useful in doing this too. A buff to cavalry archers will simply do what @(-_-) mentioned. A slight buff to infantry archers would be nice though. They simply don't compare to slingers or skirmishers. Though the major reason these civilisations aren't played is how OP Ptolemies, Britons and Gauls are. I don't remember the last time I've seen Macedonians being played even though they're a skirmisher civ.2 points

Not a 2D Artist but i have to agree, purple seems like out of place for that hero. Would fit perfectly with romans as red, but in this case it really looks like missing texture and a colour i haven't seen yet in any reference posted in this forums, best choices could be the red pattern @Sundiata Or Green/blue tartan2 points

Pedantry. Purple was chosen for hero portraits to easily tell them apart from other classes of units. The ad hoc justification was that purple was seen as a royal or elite color due to its expense. Quibble about the historicity if you want to, but for gameplay purposes I think hero portraits should have some purple. The reasoning is sound. Also, let's not pick apart every portrait for eye color and pupil shape, unless the sources specifically mention it.2 points

And priest could potentially change with the references about religion. Looking in atlas, Elite rank units don't have variants, they are the same armour with diff shield. Champ swordsman is a like a copy of Elite Swordsman with bigger shield.1 point

Persian and kushites have also skirmishers Camels are OP mostly in early and late game, cause of their fantastic range that allows them to attack / run away very fast without be hit. They are the best cav unit to amass for a rush1 point

Maybe choose a color for each cultural group (barbarians, greco-romans, eastern civilizations etc.).1 point

Fixed a few parent templates mistakes on defense/sentry/outpost towers, also added Dirt 4x6 to temple.1 point

Ww2 mod would be uncomfortable because there already a lot of games in it for example I will name a few Hoi ( Hearts of Iron), Sudden strike series, Company of heroes, Brothers in Arms etc. I suppose Napoleonic Wars might be the easiest of the three but it would be hard to make.1 point

how about units being able to "build" saplings that turn into adult trees over time and farm trees like they do animals lategame?1 point

The portrait has a nice aesthetic, but her facial features seem too refined, especially when contrasting with her wounds. I would add wrinkles, and either have the makeup less clear or not there at all; her eyebrows also seem too uniform. She had already been through a lot before rebelling, and needless to say that after she was flogged and saw her daughters raped, I'm not sure if she would have bothered much with her looks. Then again, the art is stylised so maybe my criticisms are misplaced.1 point

@Astrid, playing 0AD in the forest really sounds awesome... I've honestly entertained the idea, just never gotten around to it... I wish... The largest mammals I still see are a surprising variety of squirrels and the occasional mongoose. We have duikers and civet cats as well, but I never see them in the wild. They're super shy. I only see them being sold as bush meat by the road side as local delicacies... I really can't stand it when people eat locally nearly extinct species, just because "they like the taste". Eat a darn chicken already! People here seriously don't value wildlife. Most want to live like Westerners, or their confused impression of "Western lifestyle". Most people wouldn't be caught dead walking in the forests. They're scarred of ghosts/spirits and "tigers". Lol. it's so sad... The only thing we still have plenty is lizards, a crazy variety of snakes, and a lot of cool birds, ranging from petite sun birds to massive eagles, hornbills and even the occasional parrot and turaco. The intact pieces of forest are wonderful, almost like naturally manicured botanical gardens full of butterflies and a ton of wild orchids and other flowers. It's magical. But most people here want to just cut it all and flow concrete over it. It's like a sick obsession... There's a lot of "Christian" fundamentalism here, and they associate the forests with traditional religion and "juju", so they demonize it. It makes me cry. A lot of the "untouched" forests are either on steep hillsides difficult to exploit, or they're actually ancestral groves where royals/chiefs/kings are buried in unmarked graves. The only other forests are protected reserves. Our land is full of trees that we planted or encouraged to grow over the past 20 years. All sorts of thing grow here, and now its turned into a little oasis in the middle of a growing residential sprawl. Large amount of birds take refuge here. At least 4 species of squirrels also live in our garden.1 point

Use only women to gather food Build storehouses or farms near to the resources, and not randomly in the space Use only the cavs for hunt and chicken Train the units in larger groups Don't make suicide attacks at beginning with few units (this would be ok only for Aggressive Al) Go slower to P2 (they usually go at minute 4, that is too early) Don't trade in all maps with a low profit Make more upgrades faster Attack in late game with siege units near to the attacking army Have a more compact city Build fort when they get to P3 (they wait too much to built it) I stop here, if not I make an infinite list of things... Idk if it's possible, but it would be good for the Al to copy (at least at the beginning) the build order of a good player (6 women... etc). I mean to give him default strategies used from good players, like build order, attack strat, army composition, eco balance. Obv the Al is not human and it can't compete with experienced players, but it would be interesting to have a pro Al. To make an example in chess there are some times of Al, like Stockfish (not the 0ad player xd) that can beat even the most experienced players. It's a different game, I know, but it would be and interesting challenge. If you want to teach me a bit of it, I will be happy to work on it1 point

Yes for sp it could be neat addition and true perhaps I am overestimating this. Perhaps this can be a optional feature when hosting a game? So that some can use the feature if they want it or mp players can disable it if they wish.1 point
