Why some Civs has their heroes at Fortress?

The great Celtic towers served as accommodation for kings, for example. -
So you can login with other users, e.g. when using 0ad, but login fails for the lobby bots?

I had the same issue and realized I wasn't logged in when trying to fork. Once I signed in, the option showed up right where it should be.
-
Ok, I can increase it to 2000. In the meantime, you can directly edit the maximum zoom option in user.cfg to bypass the limit On my screens, 150 is already very big but I suppose it works a bit differently on your system.

More different structures the better. -
I like the idea of using idle citizen time for low-impact training like jogging or basic drills that slowly improve stats without needing full resources or micromanagement. Keeps things smoother.

Hi, When I set up the lobbybots, I get the following errors: 2025-07-23T15:14:25+0200 ERROR No appropriate login method. 2025-07-23T15:14:25+0200 ERROR Can't log in. Aborting reconnects. I’ve checked my ejabberd config and confirmed the user credentials are correct, but the bot still fails to log in. Could someone please advise how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance! Best regards, LogicXPlaysYT

You can reset camera zoom and angle pressing "R".

Hello, I'm completely new to this game (which I absolutely love ) and using forums. I installed 0 a.d. directly from the site and it's been working great. I've played a bunch of games with my friend and we have a few unfinished games that I've saved to continue later. For one of these saves, I'm encountering a crash when trying to host. The saved game works fine in single-player, but fails when hosting for a multiplayer session. Game Version: 0 A.D. Alpha 27 (8c69b) Both my friend and I are on the same version. We are not using any mods. I have other saves that work perfectly fine The only antivirus I have would be Windows Defender The Problem: When I go to Host Game -> Load Game and select my saved file, the match setup screen shows the incorrect map. The save shows Cycladic Archipelago, but the match setup screen displays Acropolis Bay. When I click "Start Game," the loading bar reaches 90% and then the game crashes with an Assertion failed error. From my understanding the error log points to a mismatch in grid sizes (dirtinessGrid.compare_sizes), which suggests a conflict between the saved map's data (2048x2048) and the lobby's map data (1024x1024). Because it is a saved game, I can't change any of the values and hence cannot change the map back to normal. I have attached the full error log (Assertation failed dirtinessGrid.comp.txt, it is very very long ) and the saved game (savegame-004.0adsave) Assertion failed dirtinessGrid.comp.txt savegame-0004.0adsave

@SeleucidsFor the graphics value "default zoom" the maximum value of 150 is too low. What about chosing a much higher number (2000) so the players can chose what they want? Or no upper limit at all?

Maybe install the mod autociv and check out the settings for minimum / maximum zoom. However, your game seems to be bugged...

Wrong. The skill gap between a pro and the hard AI is much bigger than the skill gap between a hard AI and a beginner.

You can't zoom enough on this map

Have you altered your hotkeys? -
Rodger that! Judging by what you've said, I imagine it has to do with the UVMap stuff. Here it is; not sure how helpful it'll be though, but it's resulting in an infinitely looping crash that causes the crash pop up to flood my PC until it crashes Note: Changing the shaders so that they use a separate material without AO does fix the crash. Thank you for the pointer! mainlog.html

Why some Civs has their heroes at Fortress?
chrstgtr replied to guerringuerrin's topic in Gameplay Discussion
Why does that mean that heroes should come out of the forts? Off topic. But I don't think buildingAI has shown itself to work. We've had like 6 iterations at this point and there have been complaints with each one. And, there aren't any real proponents of the system aside from you. But whatever. If buildingAI stays the same, i do think forts need buff. I also think building strenth should be unified. Having each have different stats, hidden ones at that, makes it difficult to learn. -

Yeah that was a triple buff, which went overboard for sure. I think just the accuracy buff is needed. -
Hello @HeWhoWanders, welcome to the forums. I'm not really certain where all the anger and frustration comes from. Is it because you can't beat one hard AI after a week of playing? It's certainly possible, but you might need more experience. If the previous replies didn't give you enough to go on, people here will answer questions, but just ranting and generally saying that your attacks aren't successful aren't good cues to give you hints.

Thanks for letting us know about the experience, but don't forget to reinstall soon, otherwise it will count as a win for the hard bot. Oh wait! Did I get that right that it made you angry that the hard bot was... hard? It seems funny that you made it a lot about "the gullible people", but I'd see the requirement for non-challenging gameplay as a similar issue to focusing too much on the flashy visuals you mentioned. They are the reason why many of the big titles aren't even fun to play anymore. Because that's what people want. To look at pretty pictures and have their ego stroked for absolutely nothing. Wouldn't you also prefer to have a payment option to skip to the "fun part" in the game? Right, those gullible people. Why are they all like that?

@HeWhoWanders 1. In order to attack, you must first select your units which you want to send into the fight, by holding down left click on you mouse then dragging across the region where your army is. Then, when they are selected, they will say something in Greek to greet you. Now, you just right click on an enemy and all of your selected soldiers will attack. Easy as that. 2. If you are facing a group of enemy, you might want to try attack move. Select your army then hold down ctrl + Q then right click on some empty ground. Your soldiers will go beserk and kill all enemy. 3. Yes this game can run on intel UHD graphics just fine, but with a better GPU, you can max out the graphics and you will get a very good-looking game. With that being said, I use NVIDIA not for gaming but for pytorch acceleration. 4. With some practice and advice from pro players (watch youtube), you will improve in no time and you will find yourself slicing through the helpless AIs. 5. Maybe start on a lower AI level, for example Sandbox (it will not attack you). Also choose an easy map like Acropolis Bay. This map gives you free towers so that you can defend against invasions easily. This game has no pay-to-win and no grinding, but it requires you to think, innovate and practice. That is exactly the weakness of the AIs in this game: the y have no strategy, only systematic aggression. Eventually, the human player will win; I can wreck 7 hardest AIs teamed up against me.

Just relax man, the AI sucks when you get to a remotely decent level. You just seem to be lacking fundamentals and you haven't spent enough time with the game to go with the flow. Watch some of my games. The key in this game is not to attack relentlessly like the AI does and lose your units needlessly. The soldiers are a part of your economy, you can use them to chop wood or mine stone and metal. Keep women on food. Watch some replays of pros, also. Install the "feldmap" mod, it contains some popular maps that pros use.
