Yes! I also finely got it working almost perfect. There is just a couple things to clear and the feature tend to awaken a pre-existing bug. But it's very satisfying to use so definitively a must have in vanilla! Since I'm currently playing with it through moderngui, I think there are a couple things that would be also nice to have included, like what @Stan` linked. Overall maybe not a too small PR, so I'd maybe try to have the current big ones I have opened done and merged first (don't like the idea of having rotting PRs ), I enjoyed when we got things done for formations together, and I'm looking forward to get this rolling again! Thanks @Stan`!! 'switching' sounds a bit like there is a wall between the two and sometimes I also read comments that make it look like it's a sort of vs. Modding allows for people to get used to the 0AD code, experiment and learn. That's was the case for me, and for others like @guerringuerrin. I'm also not planning on stopping modding and in general, want to use it as a way to try a lot of things, and select the best ones/ the one that can be implemented into vanilla. Mods also can be used to patch some bugs in between releases, and of course just to mention them, the total conversions are a subject on their own.

Hey @njj2003 Thanks for the report. Don't worry it's probably easy to fix We've added supports for CJK fonts but your current locale is not being recognized. Do you what it is ? e.g zh_TW, zh_Something ? Basically we're using different fonts depending on the locale, and the fallback is english. Here I have fr_FR - Today

The best way to learn Triggers (and the way I learned) is simply to download as many mods with trigger maps and or campaigns as possible, and start reverse engineering and copying them. -
Once I figure out how to use git, I might consider adding some of Hyrule’s features to the main game, like spawning and stun.

The config you're looking for is pauseonfocusloss You can set it to false, or if you want it to be temporary you can run the game with: -conf=pauseonfocusloss:false

Is there a way to not pause the game when the window is out of focus? I like to have the game running on a second monitor while I work on other projects. I am running Manjaro linux and I tried creating in local.cfg in my config folder with : windowed = true borderless.fullscreen = true borderless.window = true It didn't work

@Atrik I can relate to the points you mentioned, actually, because I felt a similar way when I first started contributing to this project. What I can tell you from my own experience, though, is that things tend to run smoother and quicker over time, as you would become a more regular contributor and also learn how things run and what to look out for in implementations. Of course, making mods will always be faster and allow for more creative freedom, this is an essential aspect of the opens source philosophy, so I completely understand if people want to take that path. I welcome anyone who wants, though, to also open a PR and try to get the changes into the game, I think with git now it's easier than ever. I always try to work on those PRs as soon as I can, but of course it can take some time, it's important to think long-term I believe. And I'll admit that it can be difficult for me to find the balance between making it easy for the contributor and ensuring the best possible code quality. @Atrik E.g., I'd love to eventually work on the wall snapping you implemented a while ago, if you feel like it.

I'm not particularly against of him to comeback but I don't think supremacist claims like saying black people, latins, women, muslims are inferior humans is "game psychology". It's also true that gaming environment is super toxic speccialy in strategic teamplay game. So maybe is not a big deal for some ppl. Also, as far as I know he actually could join the lobby and play. But I guess he is not that smart after all... (But in fact I think he is roaming around using automute mod.) Also this:

I have actually looked around on github and wasn't very successful. I had figured someone would've made it, but the only mentions of it I could find were here on the forums. I'll look again, although I have never heard of Endovelico. I would have to learn from scratch first, but it's something I could possibly do. Maybe add some flavor too, idk. -

Good point. @Seleucids . Last year @Duileoga created new structure models and an initial idea for units; I ported them to the game and made some corrections. @Alisson Fabrini Baked the AO textures, refined some details, and implemented some best practices. Currently, the civilization is playable, but without much flavor, as we have many other civilizations to carry out these other processes, and the Jews will definitely not be the chosen people over others. LOL. If you want to use the materials already created, with proper attribution, you can easily create a mod for this civilization, but be sure to check out other very interesting civilizations in the same status.

hi guys a 0ad alpha 28 problem has happened to me when i install 0ad 27, all words are shown correctly on screen,but when i install the newest version 28 , no matter linux or win, there are only some words shown, others are xxx, even english words i have upload the pic so you guys can check it tips: problem happen in both linux and win, i install 0ad on linux by flathub, i use linux mint 22.3, and i am chinese, if these information can help you ,but english words are also shown as xxxx please help me , thx

I think what the game needs most is campaigns, and people would be happy to make some if we had a world builder with more tools like triggers. Any chance that could be implemented soon? Also are there any tutorials on how I could do more with the current world builder?

If you block a mace with your shield it'd still hurt, that was what I meant about crush damage. Anyway how you describe it is pretty close to the current game and I'm fine with that. I'd like more variety between units, what you said about swordman and spearman fits that. We should give the swordman another hack armor and the spearman another Pierce armor. -
You can block mace and axe attacks using a shield, but you can't really block the axe attack using your sword. By this logic, mace is a pierce weapon and axe is both a pierce and crush weapon. See how complicated this can get? Compare that to the following hypothetical situation: All melee units have a standard "Melee" attack type. All ranged units have standard "Ranged/Pierce" attack type. All siege weapons have standard "Siege/Crush" attack type. Units can have more than one attack type, which allows elephants and other specialized units to deal some Siege damage. Unit resistances are now scaled based on how they fare against certain attack types. So, a Hoplite can have high Pierce resistance and average Melee resistance. Swordsman will have higher Melee resistance, but he is weaker against Ranged attacks. Unless he is a Roman with a very large Scutum (thus, Romans naturally have better swordsmen). Immortals, being without big shields, can have high Melee resistance, but lower Ranged resistance, etc.

The player who chose Judeans in a TG be like: your CC was promised to me 3000 years ago! Jokes aside, this civ actually exists somewhere on GitHub or in Endovelico. Please take a look around and see if you can port it to R28

If they improve the world builder tools we should make a Maccabees campaign. I don't think Judeans are a big enough kingdom to be a civilization in the main game but we could make one for the campaign.

Like desert rose and perzival I prefer using hack, pierce, and crush damages to make some units have natural advantages against others and keep bonuses limited. The way I see it, from a unit's point of view pierce is an attack you need a shield to block, hack is an attack you could block with a sword, and crush is something you can only avoid by dodging.
