Indo Greeks.

I think the Pyrus helmet illustration was inspired by these eastern hellenistic busts attached bellow. I dont know what Pyrhus has to do with them.

On the presumably Pontic helmet: where did you find that second coin and why you hinted it might be  Pontic ?

I think the late popular hellenistic Ascalon and /or Sidon type designs could use at least one more variant to do it justice that could use as starting point  this existing  interesting Thraco-attic variant  with some modifications on the neck guard and brim.

The russians guy from Natus ob Imperium mod pretty nailed the design Im hinting at:

Some Greco-Bactrian and Indo-Greek helmets would be awesome additions (I'd really like to add the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom to Delenda Est).

But higher priority is Boeotian helmets with plumes. We have various uncrested and crested variants, but none with plumes (which is what they're usually depicted with in illustrations).

Others can perhaps find primary sources.

He is often depicted with a lion headdress, since he claimed that Herakles was his ancestor.

Not necessarily accurate but it gives an idea how it could have been. Although the symbolic depiction of the lion skin is maybe probably mythological.

Edit:

Different coins minted by Alexander and his successors:

in the alpha yauna? Do you guys plan to update the icons and UI images of these units as well?

Regarding UI : will the civilizations have custom building icons instead of the generic ones? Like the agora to have a proper depiction of how it actually looks like for seleucids for ex

If someone makes them, sure. As long as they fit the style of the others.

It was decided to keep the building icons generic for ease of recognition. A civic center for the Athenians has the same function in-game as a civic center for the Romans, so they have the same icon. I'd be happy to assist you in making a mod to change this though if you'd like. As I understand you, you mean you'd like each icon to be a portrait of the civ's structure.

which of the helmets in this topic are in the game right now?

All of them in theory.

I think he means updated versions. Some of them are updated to better versions, but some, like Alexander's helmet, still needs updated. Alexander's current helmet model and texture is from many years ago and is quite low-detail compared to the newer helmets.

I mean it's too generic to the point they seem like placeholders no offense. For a historical strategy game that is set in a very particular era and intends to be more immersive than some other comercial ones like Age of Empires.  My two cents: for the type of players that are into this era, an agora-like icon is more recognizable and relevant than a generic building icon for helenistic factions. And would be pretty darn recognizable as a main building even for somebody that doesn't know too much history.

I thought the UI wasn't finished and polished by any means but you are telling me otherwise.:( And nope I dont want a mod because I can't stand and play the game otherwise, I was just giving some input for the game development in areas where I didn't find any official task opened. I might know some 2d artists for the job but if the policy doesn't find these kinds of refinements to the UI desirable, forget about it.
