Stan`
Hey @Juli51 It looks nice, I really like the fountain in the middle ! What is your next drawing gonna be about ? BTW good news, @wraitii managed to fix the Sierra bug, they are going to submit a new package. Edited December 27, 2016 by stanislas69
Juli51
About my next drawing I was trying to figure out a sub-saharian civilization like the nubians or the Aksum Kingdom. Houses and markets, etc... just documenting myself. I still can't see how a mini faction could compete with a standard 0AD civ. or may I'm wrong about mini factions idea. Great about the Sierra bug fix, I asked my employees to help me to get into building and compiling 0AD but we are very busy at the moment.
Lion.Kanzen
Mini faction is a lite faction. Isn't complex
Enrique
44 minutes ago, Lion.Kanzen said: Mini faction is a lite faction. Isn't complex Incredible explanation effort. Mini-factions were thought to be non-selectable civs that would be in some scenarios/maps and they would be capturable for unit recruitment and some bonuses. We called them "mini" since they wouldn't need a full set of units and buildings as an standard playable civilization. You can think of them as capturable camps with IA controlling it until any players comes and takes control.
Lion.Kanzen
Yes, they don't have standard design rooster of units and the buildings, example Marvel and some don't have even Heroes. speaking about vanilla and mod concept. in Vanilla concept they are like other civs they aren't palatable in the game, but in the mod can be used to create a civilization or a faction. Skhorn
I think it is kinda related with the mercenary camps in warcraft 3 (if u played it ofc) only train units. Or the little capturable settlements in aoe 3, where you recruit units and research technologies
Stan`
Before starting the market I slightly tweaked the iberian texture png, adding player color to the barrels and the rugs. In the attached the zip, is the png, and all props/objects/structures using the iberian texture updated. NewIberianTexture.7z
LordGood
Nice, I recall player color being a big problem with iber_struct
Stan`
Here is my first attempt at it. @Enrique @wraitii suggested to add units inside the stalls to make them look less empty, what do you think ? Would you be willing to make an idle trader animation ? Edited January 9, 2017 by stanislas69 3
Enrique
Looks nice. The problem wouldn't be making the animation, but that it may confuse players being the only building with units as "default" where the rest of the buildings show units only when garrisoned so it may appear that the market has units garrisoned constantly. (Also put them in the rest of the others civ markets stalls too) Regarding the structure, I think the stall cloth may need to extend a bit underground, specially the large one. Even if they're ground-anchored the bigger the prop, the easier to have it floating on uneven terrain.

Lion.Kanzen
All tents are too similar, different from Juli's version even one have a little extension.
wowgetoffyourcellphone
Hmm, don't forget some of the Iberian textile texture to unify the set.
Stan`
@LordGood Any idea what the cloth should like ? If the market is not commitable right now that is.
LordGood
I'm not sure its the cloth, we've worked with more limited palettes than this. It feels a bit empty, the problem with markets is making them look 'lived in'. First fix that comes to mind are carts with goods in them. I would second wow's request for some 'iberian banners' as well, perhaps draped in between stalls? I dunno, use your judgement. it does feel a bit like 5 stall props dropped around a fountain as is
Lion.Kanzen
I think need more props.

Thorfinn the Shallow Minded
I would not put in too much colour though. Dyes were expensive in that time and were generally reserved for wealthier segments of the population.

Stan`
Fancy Variant. It's not that I don't want to add props, but polycount is quite high already.
wowgetoffyourcellphone
What about use the current market and place stalls around the front to fill out a bigger footprint?
