  1. The advantage is that it makes the army very dense. Soldiers dont need to walk that far to help each other, the army can go more easily through narrow passages and your enemy will have difficulties to estimate the numbers correctly. Do Romans really need a buff currently? They look pretty strong to me.
  2. You seem to lack expertise of the game. For example, women are more expensive than half of the prize of a soldier: Food is more expensive than wood, and both units cost 1 population space...
  3. For multiplayer it would work, if the replay is still there. You can let the replay run until the end it create a savegame there. The savegame can be loaded then in the multiplayer lobby. However, in that situation it's impossible to assign AIs to the slots, just players. This little but useful feature is still missing.
  4. Thanks for the replay. In my opinion it doesn't prove that siege towers are OP, but slow and weak. In two cases you fight the big siege tower army with a smaller army which doesn't contain enough melee units. So it's not a big surprise that the siege towers win. In the end, the siege tower army gets defeated by the usage of a mixed army with some siege weapons and a small number of sword cavalry. Again, this doesn't look like the fact that siege towers are OP. However, it's remarkable that in this match a big army of Alexandre flees from the siege towers. At the other hand the siege tower army was also big. It might have been the right decision to retreat, but maybe he could have won if he would have commited his spearmen to bring the siege towers down.
  5. I tested siege towers in a match and it seemed to be a very bad strategy. As they target only one target they suffer from overshooting now. Could you provide replays with matches where siege towers prove to be OP?
  6. Just kill the army which protects the catapults first. Catapults are expensive, so you should have a better army

  10. Not easy but not impossible, see replay. Some of my tricks: - build distracting barracks at the front, garrison it - build distracting palisades - go mainly for spearmen which fight in formation. They counter pikemen commands.txt
  11. No. From the view of player 1, player 2 has turned from ally into enemy and was not defeated yet. I have seen this situation very often in previous Alphas and that bug never occured.
  12. New bug: Today I saw a game with diplomacy enabled. First it was a 4v4, but then player 1 turned ally player 2 into an enemy. When the initial enemy team was defeated, the match didnt continue, but the other players were declared winners even though player 1 and player 2 were still at war.
  13. Also, the bad bartering stops the bot from going into phase 3 within a reasonable time. Furthermore, it never seems to train women from houses even if it's Roman. At the other hand, the total number of economical units can grow very big. Is it a bot or is it @Atrik? Lol
  14. The bot would be stronger, if it wouldn't build corrals that early. Also, the corral tech is researched extremely late. It seems to waste a lot of resources at the market, buying away expensive resources for cheap wood.
  15. - allow Carthaginians to train Champions in stables again. What is a stable which can train only skirm cav? - maybe allow them to train infantry Champs in barracks as well.

  17. Swordsmen dont promote to Centurions by experience, but by a button. I agree that the description that you quoted should be considered as bug. The description should describe how to promote in this case.
  18. Well, that's just logical. Swordsmen and skirmishers are promoted to rank 3. Spearmen are transformed into units "that can't promote".

  21. Good idea, but would be even better if macemen and siege weapons (other than bolt shooters) would still attack buildings automatically.

  24. How to use this to install A27? I expected that it works like this: -install that ppa - update - $ sudo apt-get install 0ad However, this gave A25 instead.
