@Lion.Kanzen Can you test the current github version for me? If you can tell me your lobby username perhaps we can play a duel together using the Judeans. -

Herod's temple. The Judeans had white buildings. Carthaginians had white buildings. I noticed the teeths / spikes on their roofs, like the Persians. So Persian mesh + Carthaginian texture should do the trick for now, unless you can make better textures and mesh -

The Judeans were Phoenician right? So if I give them a more Carthaginian colour and a Persian building style, would that be fine? -

I actually used this picture as icon but then switched it because of copyright. I am not skilled enough to paint her face nor creates something similar in Blender. I am borrowing the head of a Carthaginian Priestess. -

I am now working on models and textures for the Judeans. It's bad and I know it but this is my second attempt at swtiching textures : ( -

Major update! Please check it out here: https://github.com/Yekaterina999/Judeans-Hasmonian 1. New, original heroes made by me, not just borrowing some Athenian or Seleucid dudes. 2. Auras changed as people requested 3. Adjusted the role of mercenary Rhomphaiaphoros 4. New, original icons that don't violate copyright. I would be really really grateful if someone bothers to download and test it, then tell me what they think. Just play a skirmish game as the Judeans against Petra and tell me what the strengths/weaknesses are. @Lion.Kanzen @wackyserious -

None of these were by me. Here is my profile if you want to see my activity: https://code.wildfiregames.com/p/Kate/ If you learn to edit xml files and submit patches you might have these things fixed your way by A26! -

You have a point. This won't work. We will get very strange names. Better restart from A.
-
I find it ridiculous that games are rated AAA solely based on the developer's budget but not its actual quality; many open source games are superior to some so-called AAA games. Names starting with AA are hard to find, but perhaps we can try Aaron? Most names starting with AA are Indian. Perhaps we can try using the Greek alphabet next after the Latin alphabet runs out, then Phoenician, Persian... Or, we can restart from A again.

@Genava55 @Ceres @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded it would be great if you can come up with some wonder suggestions for these balkans. -

I have learnt to make new buildings by mix and matching props from existing buidings, so not too big a problem anymore. -

So what do you suggest? Just one big Odrysian civ? -

Currently we have Thracians, Illyrians, Dacians. Should we get Odrysians as well? -

If you can come up with some names for Illyrian, Dacian, Thracian and Odrysian AI that will help a lot. Also the Judeans need some AI names. Even better if you can help me edit the xml files for actors to create 'new' buildings for some of the balkan civs. You don't have to use blender; just attack some Greek/Roman skin onto celtic buildings mesh (.dae files) for now. We will get better models when the artists have time to make some but for now we create our structures by mix and matching props -
About the AI: Petra is now using a lot more cavalry than before and phasing up later, which are good signs. However, their population boom is still very slow and a lot of units / training buildings remain idle, causing them a lot of problems. The idling problem needs to be solved. Also, they must send more men in a formation, otherwise this happens:

First of all I would like to say that A25 has run smoothly for the most part, no fatal errors encountered while playing a pretty intensive booming game with a very hard AI. However, a few problems were spotted: 1. Duty queue. When I queue up tasks, sometimes the units abandon what they are doing mid-way and start the next task. I definitely held down shift and they left when I wasn't watching them. 2. Tall grass is a bit too tall; it is able to conceal chickens and berries in some biomes. 3. Date palms are too similar to palm trees for wood. Here is the replay of the test-drive, hopefully that will help. Please watch the women building houses. 2021-06-08_0001.zip

Yes, smaller overlap would help. I personally like the overlap if I am the aggressor but if I am defending against an attack I would rather face an army in open order.
