Good idea, some adaptations: 1. By default most soldiers are mercenaries, but they train almost instantly. This makes them worth the price. 2. Gelo's reform unlocks citizen soldiers, then you have a choice between the two: if you need emergency troops then you cna still spam mercenaries, but if you are poor and not under immediate threat you can go for citizen soldiers.

Right now this looks almost identical to Athenians, with a useless mercenary hoplite. I will change the roster and I will see if I can use assets in Lopess's zip folder.

This is going to be a mercenary heavy civ, which means a lot of metals will be used. Therefore it is best to have some bonuses related to metal. Alternatively, we decrease the metal cost for Syracusans and replace that with something else, say food or wood. Metal mining *sigh

I guess since you ordered them to attack the house instead of an enemy ram, they will focus on the house until the house is destroyed, then move onto enemy rams. Of course, you can order your ram to attack enemy rams.

In A25 units run in order to stay in formation. Sometimes they will sprint out of formation to chase down 1 enemy unit, then return to the formation once the enemy is dead.
