  1. agreed. let that be a feature EXCLUSIVE To battle for wesnoth (and how we hate it)
  2. Is the GIT up to date? SVN on linux is well.. it's a pain. i would much like to try out the newest subversion, but going through that whole svn process to get the latest and greatest (in this case, AI) of things. well..
  3. Orange patches on the minimap are for berry bushes, green for trees, brown for huntables, white for treasures/Gaia gray for stone, etc.
  4. This is not strictly true. in aforementioned Design docs there is a 'marian reform' technology. So it's Punic - Marian reforms, not punic - macedonian wars.
  5. Personally i Think roman empire city builders have been done to hell. (we're up to.. caesar 4 now? + many others) Why not try something where there's little competition? Maybe a pre-republican roman city builder. There would be more variety there. Or how about In the times where the greek city states were just forming? There is much more variety out there which have grander possibilities.... why go for a mock-caesar 5?
  6. Nice! My only preferences would be to not have two swords inside what would be a constant flame. Or just not have a constant flame. (Maybe as an animation when it's researching stuff?)
  7. Agreed. More people to butcher is always good.
  8. gave up on the bonus - on - ageup did you? Don't blame you. Maybe we can find another way (maybe something similar to aom + age3?) Nvm, still there.
  9. I dont think it's a problem with the OS (I use mint, no problems here)
  10. I imagine you can download the source code, put it on an external, then drop it where you want to leave it (suggest /.local/share/0ad) Here Then Compile it. I imagine that's the complicated way. There is no "offline installer" (that i know of) Unless there's a .deb (or similar) file out there somewhere?
  11. What OS are you using? Might help track the bug down to it's source.
  12. When i last checked, EVERYONE can research that tech. (hint: Temple) As for blacksmith upgrades" get the "all infantry" ones. So, hack armor and hack damage. You might as-well win your melee engagements with uberpowrd swordsmen.
  13. But.. that can't be carthage! I See no boats! No naval harbour! And carthage is so.. small!
  14. It would have been. but empires have a thing of falling apart.
  15. Ah yeah, good point. I'll try making a huge city without ai and see if i can reproduce the lag.
  16. After trying it out, it seems to get really laggy after a while. Alot earlier than it usually does in vanilla 0ad.
  17. As fantastic as that would be.. it would require a lot of new assets, else be extremely bland looking.
  18. Hear Hear For Tiny Units! Maybe even squeak squeak.
  19. I don't see why it should be included in part 2, as they and the cimbri encountered rome (and would have toppled it if not for one gaius marius) In a Republican and Stiffly Not-Imperial Rome. Which is the rome what is in part 1.
  20. That won't even come close to solving the problem. The only building you have at the start that can shoot at skirmcav is your civ centre. Anyone who can micro decently can stay well out of the range of a civ centre, whilst still damaging your early game economy significantly. So essentially, it's like increasing taxes for persons who are exempt from paying taxes.
  21. That's a good point. Another game, Natural selection 2, has a "Competitive mod" For it's Tiny-as-heck Competitive scene. Maybe something similar here? We could hold tournaments to make the finer adjustments towards the balance mod.
  22. What I want to see, is a syntagma of pony units.
