Yeah i've already experienced that problem. Ah well. Wouldn't you have to Download the custom props as-well as the map? What with no mod-loader that could cause issues.

Are there any entities which can increase MAX pop? Suffice it to say that I’m designing an intentionally unbalanced map and want some extra things to make it 'unique' I'll edit all that out, so my competitors don’t get any ideas :3 You can steal my ideas after the fact, I wouldn't care less. (rather would encourage)

I think we should have difficulty set up something like This. Military | Sandbox Easy Medium Hard Economy _______ Sandbox Easy Medium Hard Criteria You would just tick whatever you want your AI to do.... EG sandbox economy / hard millitary , or medium/medium. Military Sandbox: Will defend, but not attackEasy: Will Defend and attackMedium: Will Raid.Hard: Will use champion units and healers in combat.Economy Sandbox: Will gather all resources inside of territory, (and a little bit out of). No farming.Easy: Will Farm, and push outwards to gather. Will only expand when out of resourcesMedium: Will use rudimentary technology an expand Whenever the opportunity presents itselfHard Will use advanced TechnologiesSuffice to say it will of course get better at doing all the previous tasks in each tier.

Because i have a thing for consistency. all the other shortcut icons do it like that (0ad ponymod ROTE). Even though they aren't shields, It actually looks quite kewl i must admit ;3 I can live with my poor quality mockup though if you don't want to do that though.

I would suggest Scythe's Balance GIT. (like SVN, but better ;3) Which you can find Here. It's more balance oriented. You can get the SVN if you want to try out the new testy features, but it's more for developers than anything else. just remember to update every time you are about to run it. If on linux, just git clone https://github.com/scythetwirler/0ad into a folder of your choosing (suggest home) Then go into that folder and git pull to update it. If on windows, i think you have to download a client? Yup, It even comes with a gui. Don't know How it works, but i imagine it is similar. If you can find a 'create project' somewhere which has a URL bar in it, just put the same link in and it should pull the files automatically. Though i'm not sure. I only ever use windows for things that wont run on my Linux partition(s) and/or wine.

Maybe empty out the middle grey bit and have it be an icon that way? Works well. By icon I mean desktop/Application launcher Icon. Like this, but not so poorly done.

Not just technically. I think he meant Far east though. Meshes, small-time balance fixes, pathfinding fixes.. the works. Is it me or will the beta be so darn short that it'll basically be "can i add a new faction, im bored!" from the art dept. -

Formations arent avaliable so syntagma is irrelevant. oh, i only managed to survive a while because i had tons of stone and spammed fortresses, towers and walls. in the end i just raged D: *shame*

There are three big attributes that a unit can have: Stats (attack/HP/rate of fire) Range Speed You forgot Cost, time, And widespread avaliability. (eg immortals can only be recruited from that awesome looking palace thing)

Thats a TBI thing. (to be implemented) so it's not about balance (yet) i was about to write a 2 a4 long rant but i think i'll take a chill pill and put it into a few bullet points. Persians. suck. Having 50% more money than everyone else is useless if you need 75% to beat them! And it's difficult to trade when theres' a stupid 'gentlemans agreement' saying you can't! (or at least, you can't play against 90% of the balance testers. Buttcheeks)Immortals, well.. suck. they're far more expensive than any other faction, and far weaker. (time is a cost! this is key!) Only ONE structure can make them, compared to nearly every other faction being able to restrict them in Barracks + fortresses. which can be up to 50. shouldn’t it be the other way around?! Take away the metal cost or for god sakes make them easier to mass produce! Or make it harder for everyone else!Phalangites need a nerf. eg: 1v1, 10v10 should lose to all infantry, 20v20 they should win. Their strength is the ability to fight several ranks deep, yet they are nearly on par (and better than some, eg, aforemention persians) with normal spear units! They attack too darn fast! 3 ranks of 0.75 a-speed phalangites are unbeatable! make them 1. 5 at least!Persians need an infantryman which does pure hack damage. srsly. they had THE MOST VERSATILE ARMY EVER (excluding maybe arche` seleukia). i seem to remember they had an axeman which was probably their most used inf unit IRL?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takabara <these guys, but they were primarily skirmish units.they could look like this?i know it's mostly a rant about PERSIANS SUCK AND PHALANX OP but it's balance, and it's true i just had a game against .. a macedonian, i had 5-6 times the amount of resources, triple the men, and i was made mincemeat of. makes me very very sad. :/

Well there isn't that much TO lets play tbh. Unless you're asking to monetise videos you make of 0ad? I imagine as 0ad is free as in richardstallmanisthenewshakespeare --- err, freedom, not some multi billionaire corporation... they wouldn't mind. but kudos for asking. Safety first!

The justification for making horses weaker to Pierce, not just ranged attacks, is because of the current strategy in most multiplayer games. which is to build 3-4 skirmcav (if you have 'em) and rush the enemies resource production. The problem Wasn't that it was powerful. It was Unbeatable. Anyone with a decent micro could kill 50% of your gatherers without losing a single jav-cav. So it's obvious cav needed a counter.

Oh darn! Can we submit as many maps as we can churn out? (or more than 1, rather) 'cos i've been working on 3, 2 of which i can make a skirmish version of and I may just make one specifically for this contest. ;3
