  1. Pathfinding is something réally diiferent, even not related to art: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17649&page=2#entry292404 Even though, it is something the programmers should take care of. The artists can't help with that.
  2. Having the ability to add resources is certainly a good thing. But likely eventually added resources will be minor resources like Export in AOEIII. (Though there can be exceptions) But these would be added in mods, not in the main game.
  3. It really depends on your budget which parts are best for you. But for 0 A.D. the CPU/Processor is the most important part. Roughly the build I would recommend with relatively 'cheap' parts: i5, 6-8GB RAM, GTX 750 Ti or something similar. This is more than enough for 0 A.D. and it enables you to run other games easy enough. I chose NVidia because you use blender quite frequently.
  4. It means that there are some loose edges/vertices. Use clean up command.

  6. Did you rebake the AO map? And what is the ptol_structmilitar_fortress.png (what does it look like)?
  7. Can someone explain to me how the numbers work in CreateObjectGroups? var group = new SimpleGroup( [new SimpleObject(oFish, 2,3, 0,2)], false);createObjectGroups(group, 0, stayClasses(clWater, 0), scaleByMapSize(1000, 2000), 1000);Whatever value I use in the second last line, still almost none appear.
  8. The Council is both happy and proud to announce its first release ever!!! Aristeia What is it? Aristeia is a mod focusing on the Bronze Age. While there is currently only one Civilizations available, in the future Aristeia will contain all major factions from that timespan. For the sharp-eyed: Yes, indeed, it covers much of Age of Empires 1's timespan. As name we've chosen for Amāna-Ḥātpa. And the releases are numbered after the version they are compatible with. Thus this release is called Aristeia Amāna-Ḥātpa Alpha 16. Current features: - One playable faction: Egyptians (No worries, the civilizations from the main game are still playable) - Conversions: Old School conversion system as in the famous AoE series How to: Step 1. Download the modpack, if you're reading this, you may already have done this. Step 2. Move the parent directory (the folder containing this README) to the 0ad mod folder. Step 3. Launch 0ad with this mod. Instructions on how to do this depend on your operating system. - Linux: Type "0ad -mod=NAME_OF_THIS_FOLDER" in a terminal - Windows: Edit your shortcut and add "-mod=NAME_OF_THIS_FOLDER" to the command To uninstall: Just remove your newly created folder. This mod doesn't overwrite anything it only adds. Who are we? The Council of Modders was formed up of two small modding teams and a few newcomers: Aristeia (about the bronze age) and Millennium A.D. (about medieval times) CoM aims to create a umbrella for all wannabee modders and help everyone needed and of course create their own projects, one of them is Aristeia. Download: https://sourceforge.net/projects/aristeia/files/Aristeia.zip/download Our thanks go to everyone that helped us to achieve this mod through contributing, play testing or in another way! If you have tips / suggestions, feel free to let us know. Also if you find bugs, let them know too. Support 0 A.D. if you like us: http://play0ad.com/community/donate/
  9. It seemed to me as if you were discussing a random topic elsewhere (at RTS-S) along with the on-topic discussion. I'm not talking about the fact that you recognize each other from elsewhere and say hi to the other. But if I completely misunderstood your discussion then forgive me my words.
  10. Jollyman, iNcog: in case you didn't know, there is a PM here. Let's stay on-topic.
  11. I really like the pairs. It allows you to different your playing style from others. You're forced to make choices on what you personally think is more important. Maybe some pairs are not equally matched, but in general the concept is good.
  12. You can reuse the existing normal maps (they are not building specific like AO) And there is some player color in the PNG but not much.
  13. Yes and No. (Speaking in general) It might be a bit confusing to see which tasks are WIP, which are available and which are done. But that should be explained in both the title and the first post. Since we have no ticket system like there is on the Trac, currently those tasks are used to explain what is required to complete the task, that is not really possible to do in the Art asset Wishlist; it would result in a crowded/chaotic topic, I guess?
  14. <variant frequency="2" name="House A"> <mesh>structural/egypt_house.dae</mesh> <textures> <texture file="structural/egypt_struct.png" name="baseTex"/> <texture file="structural/egypt_struct_norm.png" name="normTex"/> <texture file="structural/egypt_struct_spec.png" name="specTex"/> <texture file="structural/ao/egypt_house.png" name="aoTex"/> </textures> </variant>Sure I added it.
  15. Look to the egyptian CC. (Maybe I already have done so with the houses)
  16. Hunting is right now roughly 4 times faster than gathering (when done with your scout cavalry). An efficient way to hunt is to train sheeps at your corral and then hunt these with a couple of scout cavalry.
  17. I guess it is in My Documents/My Games/0ad/saves
  18. Try to vary the textures used more, currently the large open areas look very tiled.
  19. But would it be possible to show traces like in AoE3?
  20. Just wondering, Ayakashi, should we list some of your 'concept sketches for fun'-drawings here?
  21. For part 2: How about adding the crusader states? Kingdom of Jerusalem, Teutonic Order(Which shouldn't be under Scandinavian btw) You double posted the Kingdom of Two Sicilies (Under Western Europe and Northern Europe) But maybe you did it because it had both Northern and Western influences?
  22. Regarding the Rus': Most sources believe they where either Varangians (Vikings) or Slav people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rus%27_people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kievan_Rus%27#Origin Therefore it looks most logic to me to omit them as a different faction. Regarding the Abbasid Calpihate / Sassanid: The Abbasids emerged from a revolution against the Umayyad. The Sassanid are the predecessors of the Umayyad. Oh, I didn't notice that
