  1. I've got a few tracks almost ready, and several submissions from other composers to sort through! I'm moving right now, which is extremely consuming in L.A.... but I expect to be back into it in a couple of weeks. Will keep you all posted soon

  2. I had some trouble setting up the local lobby but finally got it to work today. I have attached a first quick script that collects very basic information. The imagined use-case would be to put it into `source/tools/XpartaMuPP` and execute something like: python3 UserStats.py > userStats.dat gnuplot -e "stats 'userStats.dat'; plot 'userStats.dat' with histeps title '# of Users'" Assuming that you have gnuplot installed, this should give you a plot of a histrogram showing how many players have a given ELO. I have noticed, that there is no information stored about when a given player has played his last rated game, so it is difficult to outrule accounts that have been there for a long time. I don't know if it would be worth the effort to store the date of a game, so that this could be done in future releases. Also, it might be interesting to look at correlations between won games and the total score that are both stored in `games` and `players_info`, respectively, in the database. This might give interesting insight into how useful the score actually is from a statistical point of view. However, I have not yet found the time to write apropriate analysis scripts. UserStats.py

  3. I decide to upload here this video to help noob/low/medium level players to obtain a very good population boom in a short time. Here you have a gaul boom with: 300 population in 14 minutes Will to fight at minute 15:30 All main militar upgrades within minute 15:30 (all armor upgrades, all ranged fight upgrades) Wonder (without upgrade unluckely) All main economy upgrades (all wood upgrades, all field upgrades, berry upgrade, 2° stone and metal upgrade) 4 Barracks total (maybe in late game you can make more) No team bonuses, as you can see in the screenshot I decided not to train more than 57 women and make some men at beginning to counter a possible small rush. At the end my army composition is 30 spearmen + 62 skirmishers + 62 slingers + 4 rams I'm sorry for the upload inconvenience, but I didn't notice my microphone was on so I had to delete some embarassing voices xd

  4. I love playing with people that I know,people I am close with,and can laugh with. If I make a mistake I will joke about it as my friends will joke about it, and I than I will learn what I did wrong. and how I will learn faster with patient people than elitist. Even when I am with elitist I laugh anyways You can let your hair down,and go in a match and your husband/mate or friends will be there for you while you are moving up the ranks,and learning. It's so boring playing with too serious people. I am one that loves to go wild,and I make fun out of everything I do. Even working on my farm I try to make fun out of it lol Especially milking cows Laugh and smile and life is so much better

That approach may be taken later as it involves quite a lot of animation ie: each building needs a separate one we have lots of buildings and no one on this project gets paid to to do anything we all contribute in our free time that is completely apart for the skill required to actually do it.   7. Under GDPR all data that relates to a directly or indirectly identifiable natural person is personal data. For instance we only have one player with 2200 score and we can identify the natural person behind that account using the svn repository or forums. The online time, number of rated games can also indicate to WFG and possibly to the public which accountname the data relates to. That's why you see privacy policies treating all processed user data as personal data. Anonymized public release by Wildfire Games (WFG) team members" from the Terms of Service from 2014 would be very narrow, like "5000 players were present in June", but not "one unnamed player played every day at 20h CET in June", nor a pseudonymized copy of the raw database. "Private analysis by Wildfire Games (WFG) team members and their affiliates." allows only WFG to "crunch the data". At least that's the contract that the previous guy had put up. I do agree that the rating data could be presented to players in a much more entertaining and conclusive way. For instance browsing the leaderboard and such statistics graphs on a website of Wildfire Games, or browsing the statistics of a particular release of 0 A.D.. The purpose of the personal data processing would have to be added to the Terms if it wasn't laid out to be implied in the previous ones.

  11. Thanks for that Boom with Links. If you lose one attack with Gauls you lose if he Attacks without a pause eaisly. Their Defense is weak and we must always have resources to run the frontline troops and resupply them.

  14. People doing this in games used to really get under my skin but, honestly, I now just feel embarrassed for that person - it's actually quite cringe-worthy to react to defeat like a kid would . You've still beaten them: you know it... they know it...

This is absolutely not a secret Our distribution script can be found at https://code.wildfiregames.com/source/0ad/browse/ps/trunk/source/tools/dist/build.sh 0ad-data doesn't only contain the public mod, it also contains the mod mod and the config. As for how Debian packages 0ad-data into a .deb (not a secret either), you can look at https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/0ad-data, especially the VCS links at the top-left of the page. Other distributions have other package tracking systems.

  16. Yeah, exactly... To be fair, I've had loads of fun as well, and had more positive experiences than negative. We're just more sensitive to negative occurrences, and the quitters are a little too regular to ignore. Sure, but it's not always easy to get into those epic team-games (especially if you looked at my rating), and although it's nice to play with people you "know", it's also nice to play with random strangers (why does that sound so wrong?). In the 1V1 games, somebody would usually ask me if i wanted to play, and if I said yes, more than 50% chance they'd intentionally break the connection when loosing. I couldn't host games myself for some reason, so that's why I was at the mercy of those guys. I should try hosting myself again...

  19. To jumpstart gameplay (and annoy all of the top-tier players) you could merge DE into the dev branch (well, minus all the new menu backgrounds and stuff like that). Gotta get the art all-stars back in the game too, @LordGood @wackyserious @Alexandermb New music from @OmriLahav would definitely be encouraging!
