  1. ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola a todos jugadores! Hoy les traigo una mecánica que creo que sería muy positiva para la Alpha 28 y darle a 0 A.D. un toque mas diferencial y atractivo. Durante la antigüedad, los dioses y divinidades siempre han estado muy presentes en la sociedad humana, y se les atribuían algunos sucesos inexplicables para la época. Por este motivo, he tenido la idea de implementar en el juego unas habilidades extras de única utilización en cada partida, únicas para cada civilización. Estas habilidades no costarían tiempo ni recursos, estarían disponibles en P3 a través de un botón y serían otorgables por los dioses. He estado trabajando en estas habilidades durante bastante tiempo, y he tratado de balancearlas para que no desequilibren el juego, sino todo lo contrario, que le den al juego un mayor toque de estrategia y frenetismo. Aquí les dejo mi propuesta: Iberos: "Caparazón de piedra": Durante 30 segundos, los edificios tienen un 50% más de salud y puntos de captura. Espartanos: "Pasión por la lucha": Durante 30 segundos, la infantería causa un 35% más de daño. Ptolemaicos: "Progreso científico": La siguiente mejora que realices no requiere tiempo ni recursos. Seleúcidas: "Expansión veloz": El siguiente Centro Cívico que construyas no requiere recursos ni tiempo de construcción. Hans: "Cosecha divina": Durante un minuto, los trabajadores de arroz de todas las civilizaciones Hans aliadas trabajan 3 veces más rápido. Macedonios: "Ingeniería de espacio": Durante 45 segundos, las máquinas de asedio propias ocupan solo un espacio en la población. Romanos: "Cultura politeísta": Puedes elegir el poder divino que desees. Bretones: "Velocidad en apuros": Durante un minuto, los edificios tardan un 50% menos en construirse, y requieren un 50% menos de recursos. Galos: "Frenetismo": Durante 45 segundos, las tropas de infantería son un 30% más rápidas. Persia: "Molestia temporal": Reduce las fronteras enemigas un 20% durante un minuto. Kushites: "Abundancia divina": Aumenta las fronteras aliadas un 20% durante un minuto. Maurianos: "Capitalismo desmedido": Durante 30 segundos, los mercaderes no requieren recursos. Cartaginenses: "Fallo mecánico": Los arietes enemigos producen un 50% menos de daño. Para poder utilizar estas habilidades, el jugador en cuestión debe estar en posesión de un mínimo de 2 templos. Mauryans: "Unbridled Capitalism": For 30 seconds, merchants do not require resources. Carthaginians: "Mechanical Failure": Enemy rams deal 50% less damage.   3. In my opinion the top 10 (forgive me if I forgot to include you; I haven't played with many of the players on the leaderboard. This is just based on the few people I've met and I could be biased) 1. Hussar (Simply unbeatable, I haven't seen him lose a single 1v1 and can hold 1v2 in team games against strong players) 2. Berhudar (Very skilled player who is also very versatile, although not as magical as Hussar) 3. Decger (Did you know that God plays 0A.D? His username is Decger) 4. SaidRdz (devastating attacks with archers and infantry, very fast boom and strong base defence as well) 5. Vinme (legendary champion cavalry spam, but perhaps a bit monotonous) 6. NoobDude (the exact opposite of his name) 7. weirdJokes (the pioneer of new strategies, possibly the most creative player in the lobby. His champions can win outnumbered fights, although it would be better if he fights with more units) 8. Ginnungagap (also creative like weirdJokes, but he is hindered by too much voice chat) 9. Havran (Half of the time he is unbeatable like Hussar, simply strong) 10. Stockfish (surprises you with rushes in 1v1 and spams units in team games, but it would be better if he doesn't make 120 women...) Honourable mention Defc0n (talented Celtic player, but could improve his boom and early defence instead of going aggressive all the time) HerkEule ( certainly a very reliable teammate with great booms and attacks) Mentula ( another very fast boomer and strong attacker, but I haven't played with him in a while and he could have improved) MarcAurel (an effective killing machine, even with low pop and housed) DoctorOrgans (his attacks with Spartans are lethal but he can work on communicating nicely with his teammates instead of advertising the Third Reich) Wendy (I miss you! ) i_am_groot (he is great like his name suggests) Yulduz ( Spartans player quite similar to DoctorOrgans but the signature without early rushes) Cousin (another champion cavalry specialist) Borg- (he had been top tier in the past but the tides have turned) Ramirez (there are too many Ramirez brothers but one of them is super strong ) mr.michael (yet another champion cavalry specialist but also rushes in early game)

  4. Indeed. A good way to emulate that would be a morale system, with cavalry and ranged troops having very little effect on infantry units' morale when in formation. Only infantry would have effect over enemy infantry units in formation, and an effect proportional to its heaviness difference (i.e., light infantry has nearly no effect on heavy infantry, heavy infantry has devastating effect on light infantry). That would also allow for the other good proposal, "Cavalry should have a bonus against infantry not in formation" : it would have a morale impact on it, and a damage bonus against demoralized infantry units not in formation. Spear cavalry should have a damage/morale bonus against ranged units even when they're in formation (maybe not against heavy javelineers in formation, though - another way to differentiate those).

  5. I am referring to the technique of drawing letters. Calligraphy is what you are supposed to learn before drawing letters. At least that's what we call it in my culture. In my country they teach 3 types of writing, normal handwriting, cursive as you call it, we call it letter handwriting and gothic handwriting.

  9. I think the current bonuses are based on historical events. Like one civ having a superior navy at a time, or introducing coins which greatly stimulated the economy.

  11. If you are confusing ramirez brothers with other players, just know that they always say funny things and try funny rushes, they also argue a lot.

  12. You can skip the lobby and connect directly to users, it's just not convenient cause everyone has to know their respective ips. But you'll always have the issue of being DDOSed as long as the game will be P2P. When someone joins your match you're basically letting them into your home. If we had dedicated servers, you'd have the issue of the server being DDOSed, if it was hosted by us, it would DDOS the forums, the lobby, the forge etc. The number of players has been stable, it's just the number of MP players that has reduced. Also, 4 years ago was COVID and confinements, and people are progressively getting back to their lives.

  14. I can't say anything about vladislav. Maybe it would be possible to treat flags differently? Like, step one: here's a flag; and then the next steps would be to assign a symbol and a color; I mean it works with the player color?

  19. I think one-click bonuses like this are not conducive to good gameplay. I think strategies and civ bonuses should require more planning, timing, and costs than a quick click. I think these bonuses are hard to balance and the short activation/ duration of the tech makes them kind of gimmicky. I do agree that temples could be a great source of civ diversification, and that their utility cases and value are nearly the same for all civs with some exceptions such as Kush and Gauls.
