  1. One is a resource the other not, there is no inconsistency here. This is the same as AoE2 AFAIR.

  2. Well done Firstly, you are an archer civ, so you are immune to camel rush. When he comes, just attack-move your archers and you will win this outnumbered fight. Don't chase, just focus on eco. Dance spearman for better effect. Secondly, select 5 spearman / pikeman and use them as dedicated house builders. Just keep placing down foundations 1 step ahead so that you never get housed. As soon as you have 1 stable down, start training from it. Use autotrain if you can't micro 1 Fort is enough, and build it close to the new cc to reinforce the expansion. Get elephants earlier and go to P3 earlier Don't mine too much stone that you don't need Prioritise upgrades over mercenaries if you decide to use cavalry Don't try to retreat from camels. Stab them with spear cav or snipe with archers.

  3. So are the whales for me. I never bother with them. Either I don't need military ships where they are, so I don't build any just for hunting. When I did hunt them, they ended up so far from harbors that they weren't an efficient source of food. Or they fled where war ships couldn't follow, because a lot of water maps aren't made for our gigantic war ships.

  4. The Suebi, Semnones, etc. are generally thought as being related to the Jastorf culture. The Jastorf culture is mostly known for its incineration burials. It started during the 7th century BC, so it is old enough. The only issue is that they didn't put weapons in their burials until mid 1st century BC, probably due to the influence of the nearby Przeworsk culture. The first known figure of the Suebi is Ariovistus... and that's all for the campaign of Caesar. So they are basically ruled out just because of that. The Lugians or Vandals are generally associated to the Przeworsk culture, starting around 200 BC. Contrary to the Jastorf culture, they buried their people and they put weapons with them. It seems to have been a very martial society. Big issue although, they have mostly none known figures. Finally we have the Cimbri, Teutones and Ambrones. There are some finds from Denmark that could be useful. The Cimbri had Boiorix for king, the Teutones and Ambrones had Teutobad. Two chieftains of the Cimbri are also mentionned Claodicus and Caesorix. So I think the only candidate are the Cimbri, just to have enough historical figures.

  7. Please start thinking about structure tree and unit tree of this civ On second thought, we can literally just rename the Suebians to Cimbrians Also the suebs are probs not too OP cuz it has no very special units like the Gaul trumpeters or fanatics

  8. Second diff: all errors fixed, fortress model applied. Existing non-technical problems: We are using too many Gaul Icons, vercingetorix and the other Gaul heroes are still there as placeholders icons. Fort looks awkward: circular base, but rectangular shaped building... it's also a bit shifted. It doesn't really affect gameplay but still looks awkward Too OP: basically Gauls on Steroids: OP eco, OP military, OP champions, OP hero, OP storehouse... the only weakness is almost no siege, but that is countered by having OP military and axeman. Iberians can beat them easily by hiding behind towers and walls, but everyone else stand 0 chance. kate2.diff

  9. I just noticed there's a line in the lobby's subject about community mod. I would like to suggest this line being written in green or yellow color so it can be noticed easily by players.

  11. Community mod automatically filters out cosmic nubs from joining your games, which is helpful xD There will be less hurt feelings of newcomers being kicked from TG. Also it makes smurfs obvious - helpful for balance. Anyone with community mod on, you can safely let them play as there won't be any cosmic performance

  12. That's always welcome, of course if it doesn't cause you trouble. The art is from @Duileoga and the export to the game is mine, if you want to create a conversation with both of us that would be great!

  13. @Lopess do you want me to look at the models and suggest improvements ?

  14. It also improves performance for some users. Some have a much better experience, while others don't see much of a difference. Probably depends on your computer. For me it was smoother movements and about 15 more fps. This is @leopard's video on the differences in performance: I should mention that "A26" in the video was actually the development version of a27 which included the spidermonkey update which was also a performance enhancement.

  15. We could have a couple native american civilizations that can be represented at this time. Central America has the Olmecs and Zapotecs (although we have little to nothing on the Olmecs so its unlikely), and the maya in the yucatan as you have mentioned. South America has the Chavin and Nazca (with the latter just squeezing in at 100 bce). Personally I would like to see the a North American culture represented like the Hopewell, but similar to the Olmecs, very little is known and therefore unlikely.

  16. 0AD Hephaestus would sound cool. Perhaps we want to follow the old naming system and go for AArdvark Or AAchen, where your Linux mirror is located; Aachener mirror is often the default for many Linux distributions if you downloaded your ISO from an European hosting server, which means you probably curled your 0ad program files from Aachen - so it definitely deserves some credit. In addition, located on the border between Germany and Belgium, it is a nice city to visit.

  17. 4v4 match sent to me by @facts , im honestly not the best at commenting on these super chaotic 4v4s, it's rly 0AD Newbie Rush's wheelhouse lol, he's able to provide a level of analysis of the overall arc of the match in a way that tends to escape me at times, (i miss his vids soooo much!) so u might not see too many more 4v4 vids after this one, (also bc lag) but i rly hope i managed to keep the commentary at least somewhat interesting hahahaha team 1 edoput (1495) Firestarter13 (1377) Genos777 (1135) C19H28O2 (1336) team 2 plus_ultra (1418) Spartan299 (1375) facts (1419) kalpeamies (1022) commands.txt
