  4. Thanks for the answer and the reference. From what I understand so far, what I suggest doesn't seem compatible with the existing code. I will keep reading D2016 to get a better idea.

  6. The Ryzen 3600 is much faster than the e.g. 2200g. But the disadvantage is that the Ryzen CPUs (without "G" Ending) have no integrated GPU. So if you could you use your old graphics card further this is a really good choise. Note that you also need DDR4 RAM. DDR3 and DDR2 doesn't work. All X570 are compatible to the new Ryzen 3000. The older Board like e.g. B450, X470 need an BIOS update. If you buy it now, they should allready have this update. Nearly all MSI Boards have the advantage of the flashback function, so you don't need a older CPU to update the BIOS. Within the next 1-3 months the new B550 Boards will also be released. Maybe they have also PCIE 4.0. I self use a B450 MSI Carbon with an 3700X and a RX 570. Since last week the new BIOS with Agesa 1.0.0.3abba is for the most boards available. Agesa abb, or newer is needed to use linux I will test manajro dualboot later this days.

  8. Sure about the mesh, but having them around wouldn't hurt would it ? I know this should be a general direction for lods, but it seems to me that this one would be an easy one, so if you had some time it could have been done If you don't want to that's okay, I'd rather we finish the re-export, Btw I didn't check but I hope those new idles have the correct number of vertex groups... On a side note, I'm working on a blender importer for the game files (currently just needs random pick for variants, and material support) It will load the file all of it's props, and the associated textures Loading the briton blacksmith takes a fraction of what it would take me normally ^^

  10. The elevation adapted range depends on the surrounding terrain. So the number in the template is acutally the attack-height offset (the point from which the projectile is actually fired), which is used to calculate the "real" range. (I made a diff a while ago to rename it: D2016.) I hope this clarifies it for you :)

  13. commands.txt metadata.json Another op game led by GOAT, @PhyZik. Team 1: x2 Maury + x2 Kushites Team 2: 1 Gaul + 1 Kushite + 1 Iber + 1 Sele As usual @Wendy22 crying about dancing. Here is the replay for analysis. How is it possible a 1700s player can cry whole game vs a 1300s nubissh? @Wendy22 's typical response throughout the game was "I DON'T CARE.." .. Also a special thanks to @Edwarf and @woodpecker for being super team mates as always.

  14. If you guys really want to push the visuals further for metals without having to re-create every texture and having to bake from highpoly, you should actually implement this: This is how reflections were faked before PBR in games (and it is still used). IIRC the reason not to implement it was due to "reflections not being accurate enough" which is a bit presumptuous since this technique is actually for faking them. Making the reflected environment texture very generic and quite desaturated will work perfectly for all kinds of metals. And if you want to go even further, wraitii mentioned that the reflections could be affected by fresnel, which is basically all you need to fake the reflections in both dielectric(non-metal) and metal materials. (you could do subtle reflections on marble, vases, rooftiles, whatever) In top of that, the performance hit is very low. Here's how stuff can look with this technique: If any artist want more information this tehcnique, is a nice in-depth tutorial of faking such reflections witha more complex setup on a non-PBR renderer (despite the title) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb_Xf4SWljs Cheers!

  15. Hello everyone! Just a very small announcement for the forum users that the support for Gravatar profile pictures has been removed in the latest version of the forum software. You may have noticed that some well-known forum users have become faceless You can find the official notice in the changelog of the forum software: https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/440-r81/ Thus this is not a temporary disruption of the Gravatar service, and you should re-upload your profile picture here on the forums if you want to be easily recognized again. Thanks for your understanding, and have a nice weekend y'all
