  1. i think i found one fix, even could found a way to fix the front legs uv by cutting in half the uv and then make them again. what you think ? @stanislas69 @wowgetoffyourcellphone PD: The Celtic horses could have retexture.

  2. Death a -> Looks weird, when he falls the legs have a weird positon like if it slid back to home position it should fall further. Whatever canter is for the big horse it's broken. Side note : Please disable auto keyframe when you save I still need to test the ingame export versions, and their uvs but so far that's a huge improvement. Thanks for your work. EDIT Looking at the files I see you added a lot of stuff. Chariot, helmets, capes, and stuff will have to be commited separately. EDIT 2 : Looking at the pony curve thing I think you should do a tutorial on how you did this, it looks like something that could be really valuable. EDIT 3 : Pony is broken I think you exported too much materials, or there is some unconnected geometry. Horse looks cool in game as well though the running anim is a bit stiff. Two chariots out of three are broken. The pers chariot now goes through the horses but I believe that can be fixed afterwards. Stables seem to deal okay with the horses so far. Something is off with the playercolor band see that black line. Fix all those and you should be good to go @Alexandermb EDIT 4 : XML files use spaces not tabs, and 2 not 4. Usually I would fix it, but there are two many files...

  3. The camels and horses would be military units, and the Asses would be used for the logistics of the camel-corps. They also had dedicated subsidiary divisions of the army tasked with specific logistic duties like transport of provisions, machines, weapons, armour and instruments as well as medical and ambulance arrangements, separate from the camel corps. I think it looks awkward because they are depicted as very light skinned people (imagine the sun-burn). In fact these are Afro-Asiatic people and would have had some melanin to protect them from the sun But aside from loincloths, they did indeed also wear garments covering their body. This Assyrian relief depicts the execution of an Arab. Not only is he significantly darker-skinned than the (more northern) Assyrian, he is wearing a garment covering his whole body. Also, he looks just like me (not joking). Here are some of the original sources used to create that historical reconstruction of (bare-chested) Arab camel riders fighting Assyrians, from the North Palace of Ashurbanipal at Nineveh:

  6. Not really. I was waiting for @Lion.Kanzen to come up with something, who was waiting for a 3D model of the eagle, Which I can't do yet because I don't have the sculpting skills. Someone like @Micket could probably, but he hasn't been around in a while. And I think @LordGood has some other things to do right now.

  7. Hey ! Had some time to review. The death animation is okay. The rest though... is not so good. The way the body distorts is weird. Attack A & B do not seem natural at all... The sitting Idle is okay. The other have weird distorsions The running animation is close to being okay, it only needs a more cohesive movement. Walk anim looks fine. @Sundiata @wowgetoffyourcellphone Can I have some more feedback from the game ready files ?

  8. The link in question points to a post containing an image that can also be found here on the @play0ad twitter feed, and here on Facebook. These two posts on LordGood's twitter feed are also relevant and may be of interest. And to answer your question: yes - at least in Atlas. They might not be made part of a civ's build order in-game (discussion is ongoing as to that), but they should be available for map creators to place in Atlas.

  10. I agree that it is awkward that one unit would speak with two different voices. The performance part might be considered, but likely not problematic. I would suggest to write a ticket at http://trac.wildfiregames.com/.

  12. Cool! Are archery ranges, stables and siege workshops going to be added for most or all civilizations, then? When I click the link for them, I get the following message "You do not have permission to view this content."

  13. It does look better indeed. For the record how many different textures are there ? In other words how many meshes do we need to fix all of them ?

  17. According to Megasthenes, Kautilya (a.k.a. Chanakya) provided Chandragupta with a camel-corps From "Chandragupta Maurya and His Times" by Radhakumud Mookerji, p .167 Arrian also notes the use of camels in India, although I have no idea how this would translate in to an actual military unit.

  18. He did retire, and it was his choice to leave without big announcements. It goes without saying that we are extremely grateful for all the work done, as the community is. He is greatly missed already. We did as well! But I'm thrilled to disclose that @plumo is very happy to be back and that you should see regular development reports again The cavalry models will be for a future report This one is already going through validation on IndieDB.
