  3. To limit the abilities, couldn't they be made in a json file? Like a technology but more versatile. Or is that what D281 is trying to do? The upgrade component could be used as an 'adder' or 'trigger' to add the temporary ability/tech to a separate manager (or at least be able to). A separate GUI object should be created to hold and handle abilities, IMO.

  4. If it gets committed as is, it's an extremely powerful modding upgrade, probably too powerful in fact, which is why I sort of doubt its future. It can be used to do pretty much any arbitrary "stateless" thing, so you could use it to activate a magic spell, create new entities around yourself, reveal part of the map, win the game, really anything so long as you can code it in JS. Imo it's lower priority than https://code.wildfiregames.com/D1011 though, which is also really nice from a modding POV.

  8. When you drag select, hold the I button. It's just there to help grab things from a crowd with the mouse. The Period, Forwardslash, and Backslash will select an idle unit without the use of the mouse.

  12. @wackyserious I love them, especially that Kausia cap is really cool (you'll use it for some of the Macedonian and Seleucid units as well?). One awkward question though: Those double stripes on the tunics, what's the reference? A quick google search only turned up one similar example (with thinner stripes) from a secondary source. I'm not sure, but I think those are closely associated with Roman tunics, not Hellenistic ones... Maybe a slightly different variant is in order, to distinguish them, like only one stripe on the left or right side, or something. I don't know. ok, scrap that, I found a Hellenistic reference, from Sidon, Lebanon, but it does show much thinner stripes, different from the Roman looking example in your texture. Maybe just narrow the stripes a little.

  20. Hello! I've been following 0 A.D. for a while now (and quite enjoy the game) and had a question. Would development be aided by having monthly funds come in from patreon? I've noticed many open source project are on there and do quite well. Has the team thought about starting one? Would increased funding affect some parts of the game more than others (i.e. faster development of art, music, pathing, netplay, etc.)? Anyway, keep up the great work on the game.
