  2. So, this game started out as an age of empires modification. I got that info from Wikipedia. Could you help me make an age of empires like map? That is all I would need to get started. I DO NOT WANT TO KEEP MODIFYING THIS GAME! I WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING BY MYSELF!!! No Unity, no Unreal Engine, just cold, hard C++, C, Opengl, and SDL2!! Please just tell me how to create a map. I have used c++ for a year and a half and java for 3 years. I do, indeed have a Java RTS engine that I made that does have a variation of the A* algorithm. It also has sort of an attacking AI, but the rays do not work. In this case, I was using ThinMatrix’s 3D graphics tutorials on YouTube. I could not find any sources to fix it, so I started going for a 2D start, where my mouse coordinates have an x and y coord on the screen and I can make it match easier with a sprite. “So, rjhwinner03, what are you asking?” I want to just have a tile based, textured quad that I could put units on, just like the one for AOE2, or at least the open source version called OpenAGE. I want nothing more than just the tile based map in OpenGL, C++, C, and SDL. Any one of these will work, I just want good results.

    locking the camera position

Is there a way to lock the camera position? Or select a unit without focusing on it? I'd like to be able to select an idle unit, but keep the camera position the same.
  4. I hope this helps some users... Yesterday I realized I can add many idle workers to the selection queue. / (ForwardSlash): Select idle fighter Shift + /: add idle fighter to selection . (Period): Select idle worker (including citizen soldiers) Shift + .: add idle worker to selection (including citizen soldiers)

    marking the camera position

I'm having trouble marking the camera position with the CTRL + F5 (-F8) keys. I first tried it with the left ctrl key, but nothing was marked. I got it to work once by using the ctrl key on the right, but then I couldn't do it again.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post thins, I've developed a modification to the Petrabot to test my masters thesis project, but I am in desperate need of some more people who can test it by tomorrow (Tuesday 31/05/16). I realize this might have been a bit rushed, but If anyone has the time to run through a few matches of the 0 A.D. today and answer a questionnaire I would really appreciate it. Here's a link to download my modded version of 0 A.D and the Petrabot. as well as a questionnaire and a set of testing instructions. Sorry, this build is Windows only, I didn't have time to develop it cross platform. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvs289o0zbnfkq2/ZeroAD.zip?dl=0 One again, if you find the time to help me out, I would be extremely appreciative. Please send any questionnaires to 0adMasterThesisTesting@gmail.com.

    ATLAS troubleshoot

Part 1: I downloaded Alpha 19 directly. As soon as I start the game from the shortcut in the Windows start menu, it initiates and takes me directly to the mod selection menu. Is this normal? I thought it should take me to the main game menu. Part 2: In the mod selection window, I select the Alpha 19 mod, enable, and then start the mod. Then the main game menu comes up. The game works fine. However, when I go to the scenario editor, it does not start. I have given it over 5 min for the user interface to show up. However, when I open windows task manager pyrogenesis.exe is running in the background. This does not seem normal. Intuitively, I would assume the main game menu starts from the beginning, then I can go straight to the scenario editor. This is not the case. Is this normal? What do I need to change to get Atlas working?
