I'd be fine working on that instead, what were you thinking? Just a basic civ that someone would look through themselves, or like more like a tutorial?
-
I don't think it's physically possible to fire five projectiles at the same time with the same bow or crossbow. The energy is spread across five projectiles, and it’s difficult to properly align the trajectory with the movement of the string. The Chinese developed crossbows that fired two bolts at the same time, but they weren’t very popular, so they shifted their focus to repeating crossbows. So, for the Persians, I imagine it might have been a repeating crossbow with a magazine holding five bolts. But otherwise, the most likely explanation is an archery technique that allowed a warrior to hold five arrows and fire them quickly; that’s what best fits the nomadic traditions of mounted archery.

Love this one. It's one of those little historical mysteries.

DE's Themistocles looks like this. Maybe could serve as inspiration? You also still have the shoulder issue.

Scenarios are random by design. Read the descriptions, usually it says why something is off. Skirmish and Random maps are consistent, unless you choose a map with very few resources.
-
Sometimes its very hard (impossible?) in medium and sometimes the AI seems to do @#$% all and is destroyed easyly. Am i missing something? P.S. playing the scénario maps

Interesting idea, I've thought about doing something simpler like a repository on Github with the main folders, e.g., at least a civ, a range unit, a melee unit, etc... Something that would help those who are really starting out, but I ended up putting it aside, the learning curve is quite steep after a while.

I think it would be cool/nice if there was a mod maker gui, so you can easily make mods: add new units, structures, techs, etc. I started making one in Godot, but we could make it in something else, if anybody would want to help that would be great!

vladislavbelov started following Screenshot bug

Thanks for the report! We have an opened issue for that: https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/issues/8876. I want to fix the image in R29. Though the camera will be still "moving". A possible workaround for now is to set the resolution scale to 100%.

So you can see a bunch of parts of the map in one image, like a sample of different parts?
-
That’s correct, it’s for taking screenshots for map previews.
-
By the way, I had an idea for a unique bonus for you: Silphium Monopoly. Cyrene was the only region in the world to produce silphium, a medicinal plant that sold for a price equal to gold until it became extinct. This could generate a permanent income.

So I tried getting a big screenshot, shift + f2, and this is what I got:screenshot0008.bmp the camera just moves weirdly when it is taking the screenshot and the image doesn't turn out well

Indeed we do save initAttributes, including the seed actually.

I noticed a bug in autociv and the fix is a one-liner. Is the github repo [here](https://github.com/nanihadesuka/autociv) the correct place still and is A28 the correct branch to merge to ?

Saves are zip files, I haven't checked but the seed should definitely be in there

Newbie Questions - I can't beat Easy AI as Romans

That is an effect we might propose for 0AD as well - like in settlers 4 where often used paths across the grass become dirt roads in the end. -
@wowgetoffyourcellphone, nice list. The first person that comes to my mind as an important character at that time is Mani, the founder of Manichaeism, which would become a major religion for a few centuries (would make an important Hero priest). There are a couple problems with this: 1) he was born in 216 under the Parthian Empire, which was succeeded by the Sasanian Empire when he was still a child (I wonder what’s the exact criteria in these cases, but to me it makes more sense to have him with the Sasanians), and 2) the religion would eventually be repressed by the Sasanians, although at the beginning they were receptive to it since it had many similarities with Zoroastrianism, but that started to change around 270, with more intense persecution after 290. I’m not sure how much you are into mutually exclusive techs and alternative history, but all this is a gold mine with that. Other immediate Sasanian concepts that could be used as techs: -Just looking a bit back I see that the “Panjagān was either a projectile weapon or an archery technique”, some have said it could have even been a type of arrowhead. I consider the last one, although the least fanciful, the most probable, but most experts disagree with this, probably the archery technique is the most preferred, and to me is a close second. From the sources, and the lack of evidence, being some kind of weapon seems the least probable. -Seven Great Houses of Iran: the Parthian aristocratic clans of the Sasanian court. More of a civ. bonus since it comes from before. Maybe some champion bonus, but Hero penalty, if no member of those houses would be a Hero, like Rostam Farrokhzad (otherwise I think at some point Hero categories would be nice to have, to deal better with certain bonuses and penalties, as I’ve had this problem before with something else). -Dehqans: came later, minor landowners. -Khosrau I Reforms: fixed harvest tax (which dehqans collected). Both of these could be consecutive Field techs, the first one a normal bonus, the second one to trickle metal. -I don’t know if buildings can be upgraded, but for Fire Temples (for civs that have Zoroastrianism as the/a main religion), there are 3 levels (Atash Dadgah, Atash Adaran, and Atash Behram), depending on the grade of the fire they hold (which depends on how it was originally produced, for which they identify 16 different forms, when all are combined and consecrated, that’s the highest fire degree, which is quite complicated to do, nowadays there are only nine Atash Behram, eight in India and one in Iran). -Maybe the Ayvān-e Kesrā could be the Wonder.

I'm glad you found the mod! Let me know what you think of the project, and if you ever want to chat, you can find me more easily on Discord https://discord.gg/EFW7v3G2cg.

IIRC we save the game state and that's all basically? Not sure anything from the gamesetup is saved so that's why I called it limitation ... A while back i checked it to try fix it but seemed to require a few changes.
-
That's not a limitation, that's a bug XD
